This is a place I'll never forget, but probably for the wrong reasons. It's too much! The garlic idea is neat, but they need to scale it back to make it actually enjoyable too.
I knew what to expect when I came here, but I didn't know how MUCH to expect. Too overwhelming.
A novel idea, putting garlic in everything, but I could hardly finish my meal. By the end it's just too much! Small restaurant too, you'll be having a conversation with the table next to you whether you want to or not!
Enjoyed a very tasty meal at Antonio's Garlic Glove Restaurant on 4th Street. I had the Linguini Pescato with lots of seafood including many mussels. My dining partner ordered the risotto and described it as very flavourful. Serving sizes were just right and our waiter James was pleasant and attentive but not overbearing. It is a small friendly restaurant and... more
We live in the neighbourhood and have eaten here several times. The food is always excellent and the service is really friendly. The mussels as an appetizer are amazing, with a creamy garlic sauce great for dipping bread in, Monday nights are half price wine nights, which makes for a really reasonably priced dinner.
Even though everything here has garlic...

Discovered this restaurant last night. Had a great meal starting with Garlic Pork Dumplings
with a bacon sweet and spicy sauce! A delicious and unique presentation. Next I had the Blue Penne....A heavy cream sauce with blue cheese, Dijon mustard and roasted garlic! Awesome! I must admit, I was drawn into the restaurant based on the sign outside, "Our Food...

How every dish including the after dinner chocolate has garlic. Not just a little, lots of tastey little cloves everywhere in everything. Friday night out with some friends, rack of lamb special was a big hit with one of our diners. Pasta, not so great for another, two picked the pork and I had the salmon. Pork roast was enjoyed... more
As a vegetarian, there wasn't much choice for me on the menu (there was one or two things). However the owner went out of the way to prepare me my own dish off menu which was greatly appreciated.
Our diner party requested a wine that was sold out, so the server actually ran to the liquor store to retrieve it....

I LIVED this place!!! Yes everything has garlic in it, hence the name. If u don't like garlic, stay home!! Stinky steak, chocolate covered garlic cloves, ohhh yaaaa!!!! But probably no good night kisses: u will stink afterwards
As the name suggests there is garlic in almost every dish! So you have got to like a bit of garlic to come here. The garlic in some of the dishes we had was a bit overwhelming so it was nice to have a dessert at the end with no garlic. I would say that this is an ok restaurant... more
We rang in the New Year over a scotch with Tony after a delicious meal. We started with Pongy Prawns and Spicy Prawns as an appetizer. One of our friends wanted a mushroom appetizer that wasn't on the menu, so Tony whipped something up for her. We enjoyed Rack of Lamb as our entrée. It was a full rack, which... more
It was difficult to give this restaurant a correct rating. They scored 5 for service, ambiance, decor, promptness, accommodation. And in our menu choices, one of our appetizers was outstanding (the Garlic Pork Dumplings - incredible dish), but the other appetizer was very disappointing (Garlic Clove - baked brie in bread). My meal of Tiger Ling pasta was delicious shrimp... more
Just stumbled across this little restaurant on a visit to Calgary.
We had no reservations but our waitress was incredibly accommodating. There was a large party that came in immediately after us so...

Antonios is trying to get back to business after the flood with a summer special menu featuring $12 entrees. We started with the garlic clove appetizer which came with what seemed like 2 whole roasted garlic. Was a bit too much for me but my daughter liked it. She had the lemon brocollini penne, I had the penne with bacon... more
I had been to Antonio's once before and stank of garlic for 3 days. When some co-workers wanted to go, I was hesitant but decided to try it again. They should however post on their website that no kids/babies are allowed. We were basically turned away at the door. One of my co-workers had a 3 week old baby. We... more
We went here for dinner just the other night and it was great. I'd heard positive things about it and I was not disappointed.
As soon as you open the door and walk in, you can smell the garlic in the air! The restaurant is small and cozy; the service is friendly and attentive.
The food itself is very well...

Ambiance and dress: casual. Food: Good to very good. I can't honestly say that I would label anything that we had as 'Great.' This is indeed mostly relatively basic and predictable, albeit tasty comfort food, and the price is right. And the garlic? It all depends on how you like it: use of garlic in a dish is clearly very... more
This is one of my top 5 restaurants in Calgary. You need to really love garlic though. I have sent people here who go "yes I like garlic" only to have the tell me "it was too much". Best dishes are the Spicy Prawns (you can soak up the sauce with bread afterwards) and the Garlic Mussles. I also get... more
This place stinks but in a fantastic way. You can smell the roasted garlic a block away as you walk down 4th Street in the trendy district of Mission in Calgary ,Alberta. As you walk into this small but quaint dining space you know your not going to leave smelling the way you came in.
They have used their imagination...

great night with the family. food was good, the dessert is a must. the service was good he wasn't over bearing. but he was there when we needed him, and knowledgeable. Its not a big place but it still felt roomie. i wouldn't bring children food more for adults.
Amazing cuisine and exceptional service! Very friendly people, warm atmosphere and food that you have to taste again and again! The portions are very generous and the quality fantastic!
First, you must like garlic to ever think of eating here. If you like garlic this is a great place to get some food. Very tasty and unique as well. The service was awesome and we will be back.
I arranged to meet a friend for lunch at this restaurant & arrived before she did. The door was unlocked, so I walked in. The place was empty except for a table of 4 or 5 men - one of them asked me "what do you want?" I said I'm here for lunch, and he said "No you're not, we're... more
If you love garlic like I do - This is a must try!!!! My boyfriend and I went to the Garlic Clove one friday evening. Its a small little cozy place. Reservations are needed. Everything you order has tons of garlic in it. The food was amazing! The service was great. This is a hidden gem in Calgary!
First time dining at Antonio's Garlic Clove. When you're the first people to be seated in the empty restaurant, you'd think they would give you a decent seat. Instead, the waitress seated us beside the cash register and beside the loud clanky sounds of the kitchen in the tightest space possible. The food here is good; no doubt. But Antonio's... more
My wife and I, together with friends, attended Antonio's on a Saturday evening. Reservations are necessary, as the restaurant is popular and is not large - but cozy atmosphere. Predominate theme is "garlic" so if that is not your liking..perhaps pick another spot. BUT if you do like garlic - it is excellent. We passed on appys and each had... more
Do not pass go - make a reservation - then go! Everytime I go to this restaurant (which is never often enough) we have great service and great food. One of Calgary's finest hidden gems.
Restaurant is overpriced and food is really mediocre. Everything is much too garlicky. I suppose that's what the name of the restaurant implies, but still I love garlic in food, and would have thought it would have been done tastefully.
The menu has pretty small selection too.
Service was mediocre, and I was pretty disappointed to see that they added...

The waitress was rude or should i say she could care less if she cared. All food had a lot of salt to make up for amounts of garlic. Not a healthy place and cant taste anything behind the salt! Very dissapointed
Having herad a few good review, my husband and I thought we'd give it a try. We highly recommend this restaurant if you like your white wine just above room temp., your medium cooked steak cold and raw and staff that don't know how to smile. When we said we hate to be pains in the butt, but this is... more
The atmosphere is just right not to loud and lighting is just right. The servers are well versed and do not bother you every 5 minutes but seem to know when they are wanted. The food was delecious and well prepared, usually you expect one thing on a menu to stand out but everything stood out from start to finish. The owner/chef was pleasant... more
We were looking forward to visiting this place. Has favourable reviews in Lonely Planet and on Trip Advisor. Word of mouth reviews were positive also. “Delicious food and good service. The restaurant is pretty small and was busy when we were there. I will definitely be recommending this to my friends and will look forward to eating there again next time I am in Calgary.”
I have heard good reviews about this restaurant but my friend and I were quite disappointed in the meal. The complimentary bread and garlic butter/spread was really good and the brie and garlic clove bread appetizer was good. We both had a different pasta dish for our main course and it was salty and tasteless. I didn't eat it all... more
One of the best restaurants in Calgary
Good food, great service, garlic ice cream is unique.
Love it. Nice atmosphere, great food and friendly staff.
A wonderful cozy restaurant. 100% customer service from the owner. I've been a few times and would go back for sure.
Had a few great meals here. Great management!! Treated us like family
Do not plan to be around other people the next day... you'll make their eyes water. A quaint atmosphere with fantastic food!
The best! Be sure to drink lots of water though, and if taking a date, make sure he/she eats too :-)
I know a million people love it... but the surprise of biting into a chocolate covered clove of garlic was fairly disgusting. Also, I think I stank for at least a week afterward!
A bit too garlicky for my taste.
Stinky Steak or Stuffed Pork Chops. Try them. You'll hate yourself if you don't.
Garlic, Garlic & more Garlic! Everything on the menu has garlic in it. Even the desserts! Mmmm….
The garlic was too raw on my pork chop. It needed to either be cooked longer to cut the bite, or they needed to use less. Overall, it was okay. I might go back, but this place isn't on my favorites list.
Food was great, service was excellent. the only thing i'd do different is steer clear of the Garlic Beer. The novelty of it wears off after 2 sips. That leaves something to be desired...like a real beer!
I was just suprised that there was no caesar salad on the menu...I was looking forward to it. Also, my husband's chicken parmasan dish was a small portion that left him hungry afterwards. The bread and garlic dip on the tables was amazing. Definately worth trying out.
Wonderful food.....good decor......good service.....lamb is exceptional. The only drawback was that I was not comfortable sitting on the hard bench.
If Antonio's was any cheaper, I would eat there everyday! My friends and I save it for a once every month or so treat and talk about it everyday in between!Calgary's best kept secret! I love the food and the service is the best in the city. A++++ in these books!
If you enjoy the robust flavor of garlic, check out the signature dish of a restaurant famed for its indulgence in the healthy herb. It's marinated, saturated, garnished and sauced with garlic, sure to overpower even the strongest breath-freshener. The tidy and welcoming Antonio's Garlic Clove restaurant is outfitted in a traditional Italian style, with antique wine bottles intertwined among... more
