The Italian Kitchen was founded in 1995 in a historic beautifully restored, 1930s brick building in downtown Vernon. The original menu has virtually unchanged since its opening day. Quality of service and consistency are hallmarks of The Italian Kitchen. The Italian Kitchen has never had a deep fryer and prides itself on fresh ingredients with a new "Fresh Sheet" every week.

Visited this restaurant after several recommendations from locals. Great service, delicious food and nice atmosphere. Tried the Father's Day special and it was yummy! Waddled on the way out!

Today the globe and mail has a report on restaurant food. "Restaurant Food Is Too Salty." More than 20 percent of restaurant meals provide more than your daily allowance for sodium. If you want to taste the saltiest food in a Vernon eatery, go to The Italian Kitchen.
Also, if you want a 1/2 litre of just okay red wine for $40 ( the waitress' suggested 'great wine') then head here.
