First impressions (they moved to Hasting and Kamloops...next door to the Starbucks). It's not a massive warehouse like Value Village just down the street, it's compact and clean and tidy - looks and feels like a consignment store - but has tons of everything you'd expect: really good selection of clothes, household items and all kinds of nick-nacks, records, books etc. Tons of stuff. This is in reference to the new, Hastings location. Note that I have shopped the VGH Thrift Store since it opened, though the frequency of my visits has steadily diminished as their prices have climbed to in many cases rival or exceed those of Value Village (or even Walmart). I have not seen their top floor, the secret up the stairs, but the... more

Firstly, make sure you go upstairs! I visited this thrift store several times and was completely unimpressed until a thrift-store-ninja-friend showed me the stairs (East side of store, near the front) to a whole other level, filled with books, games, and kitchen items. Their book section almost rivals a value village for quantity, though can't compete for quality.

Not a destination, but worth... more

This is exactly what you'd expect a thrift store to be, dirty, in a constant state of disarray, spacious and cheap, cheap, cheap. I popped in there after a bag sale at F as in frank. I found a cute dress and a nice little ornament. The clothing was quite dull and from cheap brands as well, but I found a little gem so that's something. The upstairs is loaded with old books, I just didn't have... more
