Note that I have shopped the VGH Thrift Store since it opened, though the frequency of my visits has steadily diminished as their prices have climbed to in many cases rival or exceed those of Value Village (or even Walmart). I feel bad giving this 2 stars since I support VGH and try to do my thrift shopping in stores that support my causes.

VGH Thrift has expensive prices and poor selection. They must forget they are actually a fundraising charity and not a hip Mount Pleasant retail outlet. They have placed distinguished prices on each book, movie, albums, and CDs in addition to their clothes, The insanity is that they are usually competetive with consignment!

Firstly, make sure you go upstairs! I visited this thrift store several times and was completely unimpressed until a thrift-store-ninja-friend showed me the stairs (East side of store, near the front) to a whole other level, filled with books, games, and kitchen items. Their book section almost rivals a value village for quantity, though can't compete for quality.

This is exactly what you'd expect a thrift store to be, dirty, in a constant state of disarray, spacious and cheap, cheap, cheap. I popped in there after a bag sale at F as in frank.
