They messed up my bill and charged me for the valet parking but I never used that service. Then they over charged me by $30 on an item I ordered for room service. When i told the person at the desk, she told me that they charged me the right price so had to go back up to my room to get the menu and bring it back to her. Also not enough hot water to take my shower in thw morning.

A little tired

The lobby was quite nice and the elevators were efficient. The room however, was somewhat tired. A ho-hum television, heating/air conditioning control didn't function. The bathroom is dated, the drinking glasses were dirty. It had the feeling of "unclean".

The staff so helpful with directions , smiles on their faces at all times. I stood outside for a while and the valet gentleman were great with the guests, polite helpful and spoke both French and English. Hotel was well located. Room was great size. Noises from toilets being flushed in rooms adjacent and above made a load suction noise causing me to wake up during the night. I found the charge at the breakfast buffet rather pricey.

The stay was great -- very comfortable and the staff were exceptionally helpful and professional. Unfortunately, the construction around the hotel made it difficult to easily navigate both from inside the Rideau Centre and outside on the sidewalks to the front door.

The Westin is a nice hotel located next to Parliament buildings, Byward Market and Rideau Canal. Rooms were clean and recently updated. Hotel lobby bar is very good. My only complaint, if you self park, plan on walking for 15 minutes to get back to the hotel. Nearby parking is always full. However, would for sure go back.

We booked early and were treated to both a preferred floor even though we don't have a points card, and a discount. It was a goregous room with a rather nice view and helped round out a great day.The room was clean, the bed was huge and comfortable and the little details were all taken care of. This hotel is friendly, comfortable and easy to get to. It's a nice place to attend a conference, with the conference center attached directly to the hotel.

Pleasant stay

We were in Ottawa during a rainy, windy and cold weekend. It even snowed one morning, and we are in the middle of May! Location, location, location, the Westin is across the street from the beginning of the Rideau Canal. If you're in Ottawa to enjoy the Winterlude Festival, this is the place to stay. We were there for a wedding and spent much of our time with the wedding party. Having wifi included for the computers would be an asset. Charge of almost $13.00 seems out of date.

Excellent conference experience

First time in Canada - the staff at the Westin were very professional and helpful - made my first stay in Canada very enjoyable. Also had a bite to eat in the Lounge. Excellent service and food there. I was there for a conference - everything was well organized, the food was delicious, very nice rooms for the sessions.

Really Great Stay

I was in Ottawa for a conference and this hotel was fantastic. The proximity to sites of interest (museums, Parliament) made it possible to take a 30-minute walk and see some sites without missing conference sessions. The hotel was among the most comfortable I have experienced while at conferences and I would look forward to staying at the Westin again.

The hotel is in the center of the Ottawa downtown. All the monuments are walkable. The bus stoppage is next to this hotel. The biggest shopping mall in the downtown is connected to this hotel. The mall has a multiplex cinema hall. This is a wonderful experience. The things I missed is the free internet connection and complementary breakfast.

The Hotel is being renovated! It is very noisy and the elevators take a long time to take you to the fitness center.The rooms and service are great! Spacious, new and with contemporary design. No high speed internet unless you pay.I suppose that when the renovations are over the hotel will be one of the best in town.

I arrived late from New York. After the sleepless night before in my noisy Manhattan hotel room, the Westin was an oasis. The room was immaculate, the view spectacular and best of off, no noise from adjoining rooms.

The Westin is perfectly located. Close to the Byward Market and Parliament and museums. You can even see the changing of the Guard from your window if you're facing the canal. Amazing Breakfast Buffet

My stay at this hotel was very enjoyable. The pool area was nice and it is attached to the rideau centre shopping mall so it was nice to go shopping through the exclusive hotel entrance, without ever having to step outside. Very friendly staff. The concierge will get you a table in hard to get-into restaurants. They have a pool with spa which is great after spending the last 2 hours outside skating on the canal.
