When I arrived the parking was conveniently located below the hotel and the front desk stay set me up with a room on the upper floors. This is our second stay at the Vancouver Coastal. Both stays were wonderful. The location is great, the views spectacular, the rooms comfortable. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. Good hotel in a great location with very adequate amenities and service. We had no problems whatsoever knowing going into it that the rooms needed a little bit of updating but that's not as important as cleanliness or customer service which were top notch. Even though we had a room on the lower floors there was still a view of the mountains and water.

Pretty easy to miss even for a vancouverite, unless you live in west end lol. For a tourist, it's a good, safe area a block away from the main action on Denman St., & close to the bay water, which is super nice in the summer.

This hotel is located within a couple blocks of English Bay, in the heart of the Westend. It was a prime location for the fireworks and pride parade. It is also close to shops, Robson Street, and Stanley Park. The hotel is not new, but it is well cared for. The staff are friendly and willing to answer questions. I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again.

Very expensive. Had numerous bug bites which could have only come from the hotel bed.

The only good thing about this hotel was the location. There was hardly any lighting in the room, no plugs to charge electronics, terrible a/c, old furnishings, and cable tv was static. Would never stay here again.

The walk through the lobby was nice, but the room is very outdated, the pillow was a slab of foam, and I had to keep the bathroom door closed, as what is supposed to be the exhaust vent, kept filling my room with cigarette smoke. The only saving grace was the location and free internet.

The indepedent gym (attached but not part of) the hotel was a joke. It was suppose to be complimentary, but they tried to charge $10 for the 'deluxe package'. Another time warp. Hot, Stuffy, Rundown, Unfriendly

We must have run into the same desk staff as brain22. We arrived early and a disinterested desk clerk was adamant that no check in was allowed before 3:30 - no offer to store baggage, no offer to check if any rooms were actually ready, generally rude.

Nice Hotel, great location...tired rooms

we really liked the location of this hotel. it was very close to good restaurants and pubs. stanley park was only a couple blocks down and robson street was about a 15-20min walk. they have a good package deal called the "gourmet stay & play" where they give u free parking, $75 towards a restaurant of your choice and 2 free breakfasts. that package deal worked out very well for us. but the... more

We couldn't have asked for a better location. Coast Plaza is close to the beach, Stanley Park, and many great restaurants.

We stayed at the Coast Plaza Hotel in August and had great views of the water and mountains from our room. The hotel is close to English Bay and Stanley Park which is a very pretty part of the city. Great staff, Great location, great rooms

Staff is excellent, friendly and accomodating. The room was comfortable and large with a very nice view. We will stay at the Coast Plaza on our next visit to Vancouver.

serenity in place

The most pleasant part of my visit to Vancover was the view from the 33rd floor of city lights and Habour, and majestic appointment and most comfortable bed ,dining, spa, swimming,shoppping, the beatiful Stanley Park, the close proximity of the world music festival in the evenings a total treat......yum hum yum yum

just back from Vancouver

The Coast Hotel was the perfect place for me to stay - close to Stanley Park and running. Within walking distance to downtown. Lots of amenities like the Denman Fitness Centre and the pool. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. Lots of different ethnic foods wihin a couple of blcoks. My experience couldn't have been better. I'd definitely stay there again!

great place for kids

I stayed there Apr 2006 with my three daughters 13, 13 and 10. The site was very spacious and we had a nice view from our room on the 11th floor. We would have liked a room much higher up. My kids loved the pool and all the hotel staff was very friendly to them. The beach is nearby as well as many, many good restaurants. Great Time

I took my fiance to Vancouver for a weekend getaway. Great Location. Within blocks of English Bay and Stanley Park. The staff was very accomadating and no shortages of good restaurants. everything from Subway to fine dining at Delilah's(Excellent food). Would most definately go back. Fantastic weekend.

ok hotel

Th location is great. It's right above the Denman Street Mall. Some rooms have kitchens.It's a tall building. It's right near Stanley Park. Not all the rooms are refurbished. The not refurbished rooms look haunted to me at night. Yet you're paying the same price as a refurbished room. Whatever floor you're on is really 5 floors lower. Can't wait to go back

If i could live anywhere it would be at the coast plaza hotel. my stay there was an excellent experience. i have recommended the stay to everyone i know. the staff was friendly, rooms were clean, and the view was spectacular! I can't wait to go back.
