i meet a group of old colleagues here every couple of months and am always impressed by the freshness of the food and the variety of dishes on hand.
This Indian restaurant is huge! They have delicious food and lots of space inside for business events.
My boyfriend took me downtown for dinner and we had some great butter chicken, naan with dried fruits and vegetarian masala. Dessert were these yummy cheese balls dipped in a sweet syrup (although I still popped into Just Desserts after!).
At work we are currently planning a large outing/dinner in downtown Toronto for about 20 people and I recommend Biryani House.
My very first restaurant that my friend took me to when I moved to downtown Toronto. I'm not a huge Indian food fan, but I do enjoy the staples like butter chicken, curry, pakora, naan etc.
The lamb curry is tasty and I love the butter chicken here; it's flavourful without being too rich in a good way. The butter chicken did not feel too heavy after eating which is a first for me. Cheaper than I expected for an Indian restaurant in downtown Toronto, but average for the downtown area.
My only complaint is they were a bit slow, but it was a pretty busy Friday night. I would definitely go again but recommend avoiding the early dinner crowd.
Chef Debu Saha of Debu Saha's Biryani House kickstarted this year's Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights in high-style creating an exceptional five-course tasting menu that captured the colour, excitement and diversity of the lunar New Year.Catering to both the vegetarian ($38) and non-vegetarian appetites ($45), the menu was designed for Canada's colder climate, seasonal ingredients as well... more

I am orginally from Iran, but have a lot of pakistani friends, and the one thing I have to say is that the food at Biryani House reminds me of my best friends moms food. I found the food to be great. Im not sure if people know how to judge Indian food but here are 4 words for you.... "need to me hot!"
We got take out lamb shank briyani from Briyani House. It was piping hot, and the lamb shank was tender without being dry. The shank itself however did not have a lot of flavour though, and must be eaten with the rice to get good flavours. mesh
Given the great location, we thought this would be a great place for dinner before we went shopping. In a restaurant that seats about 80 there were only 10 people there. - bad sign #1. Bad sign #2 were the flies that kept buzzing around our table. We ordered samosa starter for $4.95 which was ONE samosa that was cut in half and still cold in the middle. For entrees, I ordered stuffed... more
After craving Indian food all day, last Friday, my friend and I ordered more than 50 dollars worth of food from Biryani House. We called for delivery, but when the food arrived we were MASSIVELY disappointed in terms of both quality and portion size. We called back to complain politely and after two tries and no success at talking to the manager, we were told that the manager would be... more
I ordered delivery and was told my food would arrive in about 30 minutes ( I live a 3 minute walk from where the restaurant is located.) after an hour I called back and was told it's on it's way. it took another 45 minutes before my food arrived at my door. the portions are very small for what your paying. I mean $18.00 for a over cooked small piece of veal is absurd. And that's all you get! No... more
