The service is great, but the food is average

We went for chicken wings as this restaurant has good review on their wings. We ordered 4 different flavour: BBQ, Teriyaki, Sweet Chili, and 5 Alarm. Unfortunately, we didn't like any of them. Our fave local restaurant

We live in a community of rather mediocre restaurants, albeit in a town with great restaurants - but some nights you just don't want to drive downtown. Sorry....they've lost a few steps over the years

I've likely eaten here 20-30 times. For a long time I took my family to 1550's for a quick "I don't want to cook tonight meal". Some months when work/life was really busy it seemed like a place to call home, and go stress-free.

Good food, good service

Lovely local neighbourhood "pub-style" restaurant, menu is varied with weekly specials. Tasty food, good portions and reasonable prices. Staff is friendly, a popular place for university students and for group celebrations. A small outdoor patio for fair-weather dining. Only draw-back is limited parking.

Great place

Wind up there accidentally. Was attracted by nice sign promising pub style food. Ordered Westcoast Benny - the best I've ever had. Perfect sauce an lots of seafood in it. Staff is nice and friendly, pets a lot of attention to customers. Overall higly recommended.

Great spot for tasty food and good service

1550s is a sleeper. Very plain on the outside but warm and welcoming inside. Great food, reasonable prices, and super friendly staff. Give it a try, you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Dive-bar wannabe

Not officially a bar or a pub, 1550's restaurant is as tacky on the inside as it looks on the outside.  Friendly staff and easy parking most of the time is the reason I come here from time to time.

I've been here a few times with friends and it's always a blast. Good wings and great service.
