Don't under-rate the food at IKEA. Having lunch here, which will cost you $4 per person, is dreamy delicous. The furniture is excellent and I don't care what other people say, it's not that hard to put together properly!
how can you not like IKEA? I hear people complain about the quality of their stuff, but I complain about the quality of those people. Make your furniture carefully, and it will be sturdy. If you buy the cheapest items, well there's more risk that it won't be solid as a rock, but you get what you pay for if you're going cheap. Get food while you shop here, it's great and cheap, and expect to spend a whole afternoon. I love shoping at IKEA. Wacky Wednesdays too ... look online for the crazy deal of the week.
I try to only go to IKEA once or twice a year. It's all I can handle. Screaming kids, long lines, rat race maze aisles which I always do backwards...just to annoy everyone else.

I've been a long time Ikea customer - I furnished apartments through my undergrad and law degree with its stuff. Recently, my girlfriend purchased a bed from the Deerfoot Meadows location. The kit came with wrong parts (1/4 shorter bolts than needed for assembly), which after a frustrating hour or two we realized. I hate this store. Firstly it is set up like a mini-golf so you have to zig-zag your way through the entire store like a rat in a maze. Parents are encouraged to let their children run wild, and with no hand signals - It is worse than rush hour on the Deerfoot with one lane down and zombies everywhere.
