Stylish guestrooms, four diamond dining, valet service, and our "Anything for You" concierge. It's an attentive, impeccable experience, in the heart of downtown Halifax. It's The Prince George Hotel
This contemporary and large downtown hotel features understated styling, polished wainscoting, carpeting, and the discreet use of marble, though it still feels a bit sterile and stuffy. In any case, expect modern and comfortably appointed rooms, all with a selection of complimentary tea and coffee, coffeemakers, and hair dryers. This hotel is nicely situated near the Citadel and restaurants and... more
We were visiting family in New Brunswick and made an overnight visit to Halifax. The Prince George was very conveniently located in downtown Halifax and right near the Citadel. We were able to walk everywhere easily. Service was excellent at the hotel and we were lucky to have been upgraded to the Crown floor where we also had access to the lounge which included soft drinks, juices and David's... more
We stayed 3 nights in total during our honeymoon out East (we are from Toronto) and had a lovely time. We arrived in Halifax following a huge wedding week (!) and were absolutely exhausted. The front desk staff was gracious enough to allow us to check in early to get some rest and then surprised us with a lovely cake when we had returned to our room.
Our room was very clean and their bed was...

Great location just south of the citadel. Bar is funky and the restaurant is nice. The room and the hallways are a little dated.
Not too long ago me and my family wanted to check out a hotel and this one seemed very appealing. In the pictures the pool was big, the interior was nice and I saw some good reviews online. When we got there, the interior was beautiful and the staff was really nice.
The hotel room only lets 5 people on the WiFi a day which I find a bit inconvenient if you're having a party or get together. The...

Excellent service!!! The staff is friendly and efficient. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Halifax!
For our visit to Halifax last weekend, we decided to stay at the Prince George because it seemed pretty centrally located, and the price was quite reasonable to boot. Location-wise, it is pretty centrally located, and it is most of the way up the hill from the bay to the top of the hill where the Citadel is - so if you are looking to make the trek up, it puts you in a decent location, and it is... more
The basic experience of a clean warm quite night stay at a 4.4 star hotel was a fail. I always make the best of all my experiences.
Happy New Years! I always have a great time however there was a little thorn in the fact that some folks left a dog in the next room that Barked for 2 1/2 hours before a neighbor called to complain. Prince George Staff were amazing and took the fantastic Black Lab...

I'm rating the Prince George Hotel based on several company events that have been held here, rather than as a hotel guest. I live in Halifax, so I rarely need to stay in a local hotel. :)
The company I work for has held a number of employee events at the Prince George over the last few years that I attended. In each case, the venue has looked fantastic, the staff have been excellent, and the...

the Hotel is really great because of it's location in downtown Halifax and it's connection underground to many places makes it great in stormy weather. Beds were comfortable and room was quiet and I liked the check out time of 1 pm. Staff were friendly and helpful.
I feel compelled to inform the general public of an incident I had at the Prince George Hotel at Halifax.I had around $1000 USD stolen from my suitcase inside the hotel room during my stay (it is a cash buffer I carry on me when I travel). To my surprise, the rooms at PG have no safety deposit box (the first hotel of its kind, and I travel a lot on business and have been to a lot of hotels). So... more
We enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. The area is very walkable (even with the hills).
The only issues we had was that parking was not included for hotel guests and breakfast buffet was pricey.
A very nice modern hotel that is really located in a nice area of Halifax. It's an easy walk to the Maritime Museum, the wharf, the Citadel and lots of interesting shops and restaurants. Linens are great, room is spacious and the Egg Benedict dish with a lemon hollandaise sauce was scrumptious.
Nice rooms, clean, very friendly & efficient service. Disappointed by the volume of the barking dog next door and the 'continental included breakfast' that we payed more for by being on the sixth floor. Think twice before paying extra for a breakfast that includes: coffee from a machine, tea bags, yogurt, granola, and the fruit trio (pineapple, cantaloupe, and honeydew). To make matters worse,... more
I travel frequently for work, and the customer service at this hotel is outstanding. I had forgotten some items in my room, and my only were they recovered, but also shipped to my door the same day! Amazing!
Thank you so much for an awesome stay
Not as luxurious as most 4 or 5 star hotels but also much cheaper than most. Good service and nicely done lobby. Good bar and food options. Very helpful staff. Very accommodating for families. Nice pool! Also very convenient location in the heart of downtown Halifax.
Great value and service, rooms are clean and well stocked. Appreciated their detail to the environment by providing large bottles for shampoo and soaps. The only problem was poor wifi in the room
I had stayed at all the 3.5-4 star hotels in downtown Halifax except the Prince George. I had to attend a funeral so instead of staying at the Delta Barrington, where I have had only excellent experiences, I decided to give the PG a try, considering I had never been and it seemed to have good reviews online.
I stayed two nights. The first night was fine. The room was ok. Not really four star...

Really lovely! Nice food options.. friendly staff and ready to serve! Would definitely have it on my top ten list for brunch in halifax.. convenient underground parking. .
Would have loved if they had more hot plate options though. . However they always made sure that plates are full and fresh..
This is a nice looking hotel, comfortable rooms with good coffee.... but if you are deciding between a harbour facing room or the less expensive one facing the citadel- definitely pick the citadel. Harbour facing will allow you to see other buildings which block the harbour as the PG is very far from the water. The citadel view is at least of pretty grass. On another note, for an expensive... more
A wonderful respite from the rest of Halifax. Friendly and helpful staff. You have to pay for parking, but that beats trying to find your own spot. Comfortable beds. Stylishly equipped. Only caveat: second guess the concierge if he/she is a little on the young/inexperienced side (we were underwhelmed with dinner recommendations)
We stayed here for 3 nights for a local wedding and it was fantastic. The rooms were pleasant and modern, the bed was comfy. The front desk was extremely helpful -- they had restaurant suggestions, helped us out with free toiletries when it turned out we forgot something, and lent an umbrella when we had to go out to dinner in the pouring rain. The location is great for walking to parks and the... more
This is a beautiful hotel which is centrally located in the city. You are close to the waterfront, the citadel, and the public gardens. The bed here was so comfortable! My husband and I slept so well. The room was impeccably clean and spacious. The bathroom was also large with a nice walk-in shower and Aveda products that they were not stingy about refilling.
Great experience every time I stay here. The staff is awesome. The food is great. The service is unbeatable. The location is perfect. The facilaties are just right. Indoor parking. Always friendly. I wish there was a
Prince George in every city I travel to. They have nice rooms and super nice suites if you want a bit more comfort.
My daughter and I stayed here on Dec 26 for our girls getaway. We booked a deluxe king suite a few months before arrival and got a great deal through their website. When we walked into the hotel it was very quiet and no one around except for the front desk staff, not even in the restaurants or bar. Upon... more
Stayed in an executive 1 bedroom suite and even though it wasn't one of the newly renovated rooms it was still in excellent shape and a great experience. It was a special occasion and the evening wouldn't have been as nice as it was if the room was sub par., Stayed here several times before and have never been disappointed.
We had one of the best hotel experiences. My wife and I have stayed here 3 other times for our anniversary. However, last year we didn't have the best experience. Newly renovated. Very friendly staff. Clean and modern.
Came for a work party which was very well put on by the hotel. Food was incredible. You cant go wrong with this hotel. If you want the best and the little extras, stay here.
The room was wonderful and clean room and included a fridge and coffee/tea station, with a beautiful view of Halifax. We enjoyed the comfy king size bed. Took a dip in the pool and hot tub and topped it off with a sauna. Then went out for dinner at 2 Doors Down. Great way to refresh in the winter.
Perfect location in downtown Halifax. In January we got a superb rate. We could get to a mall. liquor store, and even the casino without going outdoors. We had king size bed very comfortable... There was many bars and restaurants serving well past last call within a couple of blocks.
The hotel is very conveiniently located in the heart of downtown Halifax there are a multitude of fantastic restaurants and drinking establishments within a short walking distance. The staff and hotel decor are excellent.I stayed in a basic room that was very clean and comfortable but otherwise unremarkable, there are several tiers of accomadation that dramatically increase in price so i assume... more
We did nothing to cause the problem with the toilet, which indicates to me that it existed before our arrival. When I went to get some ice and mix, I had to go to the lobby for mix. Awsome staff, tremendous food, comfortable, clean, well appointed accomodations. Will definitely be returning to The Prince George on a future trip to Halifax ! I will be recommending the Prince George to all my colleagues and friends !!!
For 97 plus tax, you won't find a better hotel...anywhere. If you think the food is too pricey in the hotel, order for pick up at the Midtown. Its actually next door to the parking garage. Great price!
Great hotel, great location and Gio, the restaurant downstairs is fabulous. Check out shops on Spring Garden Road around the corner and the Neptune Theatre around the other corner - offers great entertainment!
It was a perfect location, right across from the dinner theatre. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. My boyfriend really like the shower stall, never seen it done like that before. We would definitely stay again
Our recent stay at the Prince George hotel was quite satisfactory. Staff are excellent, food is superb and the overall décor of hotel very lovely. As always, our stay at the Prince George was absolutely excellent! The newly redesigned main floor, including the bar and dining room, is beautiful and welcoming. We had the opportunity to stay in one of the newly refreshed rooms and it ,too, was lovely.
The recent renovations to the hotel, including the rooms are tastefully done to high quality standards, including very comfortable king beds.
The hotel is connected to underground walkways that connect to much of downtown Halifax, which was very convenient for us, given the cold snap and fresh snow in the region at the time of our visit.
Stayed a night in January 2015. Love the decor of lobby, restaurants and Cafe. Staff was friendly and helpful. Excellent location. Rooms clean and beds very comfy. Didn't get to check out pool or gym, but plan to remember bathing suit/running shoes for next visit! Overall quite impressed!
Everything from the booking, to checking out made us feel safe, sound and very comfortable. It is the best location for any event in Halifax as well as the best quality and service. We have stayed here on several occasions and would highly recommend it to everyone.
We stayed in the executive jacuzzi suite for our anniversary. The hotel was undergoing renovations but our room was beautiful. The bathroom was our favourite, i did not want to get out of the deep spa like tub. The hotel is located well in Halifax's centre. You can cross the street and walk indoors down to the casino, a mall,... more
I'm just a common country girl but feel like royalty when I stay at the Prince George Hotel. They roll out the red carpet and make you feel so welcome and comfortable, plus the rooms are gorgeous and luxurious!
Stayed here Jan 24-25th. Third time here & excellent as always. Beautiful hotel and friendly service.
Only small negative is that the breakfast wasn't a great option for us (very pricey and we have two small boys) but otherwise - everything was great.
We have been returning guests for many years at The Prince George and always stay on the Crown Floor with a harborview room. The quality of this hotel was above my expectations and I would recommend this establishment to anyone, thank you.
This was our second stay here. Everything was great. The staff were excellent to deal with especially the supervisor (Yasir) and the Chad and the lady (at the front desk). Sorry I forget her name.
The only thing that would have made this stay even more magical would be complimentary breakfast. :)
The Prince George Hotel is our hotel of choice when visiting Halifax. Guest Service are exceptional, accommodations are welcoming and comfortable. You are in the center of the city with access to so much.
I stayed in an executive suite for one night and I had an absolutly stunning and magnificent time. Suite was impeccable, staff were great, and anyone who wants to learn the true definition of "customer service" should go here and learn from their staff. Thanks for an excellent stay and I will come back again!
I wanted to update my previous review. The General Manager (Scott T) has made me feel that this incident will not happen again - notice will be given to future bookings to ensure they know the services that may not be available so they can make a decision on whether to keep their reservation. I am returning this weekend for another birthday event. Thanks Scott!
Very nice hotel to stay in. Helpful staff. Spacious room with comfortable beds. Excellent location in the centre of Halifax so a good base for exploring the city. Nice and quiet considering it's in the centre of a city but maybe that's just Halifax. I certainly have no problems recommending that you should stay there.
We stayed at the prince George hotel in Halifax on Nov. 10. It was our second time for staying there and we were not disappointed. Front desk staff are fabulous and the main floor/lobby is BEAUTIFUL! The room was a little lackluster - the pillows were really soft (in an uncomfortable way) and the bathroom is pretty cramped. Overall, it wouldn't be my first choice of places to stay again, but the location and staff are great!
Everything was wonderful! Our room was beautiful and very clean. The staff also sent up a bottle of champagne and cheese cake because they knew it was my husband's birthday. Amazing service and so appreciated!!!
The hotel staff at the Prince George are amazing! We receive impeccable service from the moment we drive up to the door. The rooms/suites are very welcoming and spacious. The Prince George will continue to be our hotel of choice in downtown Halifax.
Nice clean hotel Great staff Close to downtown Underground parking Good value for the money Will stay here again for business or pleasure Crown floor offers free refreshments and breakfast which is an excellent value and very easy to access using your room key.
There was a gift waiting for us when we arrived for our last stay. Very classy touch! It was an ornament for our Christmas tree to remind us of our second home. The hotel was great, room was impressive, but attention to detail was lacking. No offer to handle bags, room was cold and dark on arrival (arrival time was confirmed that day) and a birthday being celebrated was not acknowledged.
The restaurant "Gio" was fantastic and the room service was prompt and very good.
this hotel is a great time from beginning to end, they will take care of every need. and made me feel very welcomed. its a business casual attire kind of location, which was wonderful, however my friend who came with me for check in was very casual and the staff still treated her with respect and like she was meant... more

The hotel stay was great We always enjoy staying there.Unfortunately someone hit and knocked off our driver's side mirror which was disappointing and made it harder to drive home We had parked in the hotel parking lot.
This is one of my favorite hotels to stay in when on business or visiting Halifax for pleasure. The staff there are very kind and go beyond to make your stay a great one!

Everything was great, but I personally prefer individual shampoos, etc.
The room was clean, the staff was professional, better signage in the parking garage would be helpful. The location is great for shopping.
Enjoyed my stay and the staff were so friendly and I most noticed they were always smiling and kind. This makes a big difference to me. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. I found the hotel so welcoming and comfortable as well as the hotel in whole was very elegant and beautifully decorated.
I loved the convenience of not having to go outside to attend the symposium. My room was pleasant and I found the front desk staff friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and I enjoyed having coffee and tea available.
Very enjoyable trip. The beds are very comfortable, love the different choices of pillows. Extremely clean rooms and great service with a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Everyone from front desk to cleaning staff are friendly and attentive.
Excellent location; great nearby restaurants.
Due to noise from the construction of the new convention centre, don't plan on sleeping much past 6 am.
Also, the pillows were too soft.
6th floor lounge was very convenient.
Thank you to all staff at the Prince George Hotel.. I would highly recommend everyone to stay here. The staff are very friendly and are alway willing to assist in anyway to make your stay comfortable.. The Hotel decor is stunning and the accommodations are top notch..Thumbs up!!
The fastest check in and out ever, excellent customer service. Beautiful, comfortable room and incredible meal. Great value and ideal location for our needs. Most enjoyable evening with friends. Thanks
Our stay at your hotel in the month of November we both convenient and enjoyable. The staff was not only friendly and efficient; they treated us as if we were good friends returning home. The dining experience was extraordinary, the parking and access to other areas of the city excellent.
Stayed here in early December to attend to some family business and was quite pleased. Room and bathroom were clean beds were comfortable and staff was friendly. Have zero complaints with the hotel though the parking was a bit expensive. Wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the hotel and Halifax more.
Very nice hotel, friendly staff, clean rooms and a great location. Would highly recommend, your stay, at this hotel.
Very nice We were just overnight but the location was great, nice staff, safe environment, walking distance to our interests
My husband and I booked the hotel Prince George for a week-end get away/shopping trip. The hotel is well located. Walking distance to all Halifax amenities. Personal needs were accommodated proficiently.
This is my 2nd stay at the Prince George. I will return again. The experience is what makes the hotel different. You are referred to by your 1st name, you are always greeted with a smile, no request is too great. We hosted a conference there in October and everything from catering to room set up to check in to food, to service was superb! If you are planning a conference Barbara Broome is it!
The staff went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. Very friendly, clean hotel with a great location. We will definitely be back!
Awesome staff...super rooms....amazing breakfast buffet with top notch omelette station!!
The Prince George Hotel was excellent. The staff were very friendly and reliable, always going the extra mile to please you. Facilities are wonderful and the crown service floor is worth the price !!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL !!!
My husband had to go to Halifax for business and asked me to help him choose a hotel. I searched the Expedia website and was impressed with the Prince George Hotel so booked us a room for 3 nights. The Prince George is a very comfortable, welcoming hotel. It is a short walk up to the Citadel or down to the waterfront. The rooms are a good size and very comfortable. Breakfasts are good and hot and reasonably priced. The underground garage is very convenient
Will stay there again when visiting Halifax. Excellent value for money! Near to restaurants and sights. Loved the breakfast room on the 6th floor. Pleasant staff. Very comfortable and clean rooms
Close to restaurants, harbour front and downtown. Great in room dining, great staff, outstanding bartender (Jordan) and great Rio staff (Robin), awesome overall!
The hotel is beautiful and centrally located and if you don't mind paying for parking and top dollar for a room with average amenities then it's a great place. There are equally good hotels with free parking and breakfast included for the same price or less.
I found that the property had a nice lobby and restaurant but the rooms are aged and need to be updated.
The location is great, but the hotel is showing its age. Great staff.
The best hotel experience we have had in a long time
Our stay at the prince George was like being home! They changed our room to a double as we brought our daughter at the last minute. Love the fact that we could walk to everywhere we wanted to go. Our stay was disrupted by a party being held in a room near by. We were disturbed until 2am, so we didn't get the rest we needed after traveling to Nova Scotia for the first time.
Our stay at Prince George was only one night, but it was a very pleasant night. I booked a deluxe room and when we arrived the person who took care of us said they had put us on a suite. That was a plus I was not expecting. Overall, the hotel was very nice so was the staff and the room we got.
very good one in excellent location. Only thing not very happy about is that they give us a king size room while we have 3 people with a 9 years old. So spent extra to add a roll out bed since they are not willing to switch us to two bed room. Other than that, everything is good.
I found the room extremely comfortable and well appointed. I had a drink at the lobby bar which was lovely but didn't have the opportunity to try the restaurant. The bed, bathroom and everything in our guestroom was excellent, clean and comfortable. I will stay at the Prince George again if the rates are reasonable.
Typical hotel room. Appreciated pool, hot tub, sauna. Everything was nice; a little dated, but very functional. Hotel staff was nice and helpfull.

Booking this hotel for our last two nights iafter exploring Nova Scotia we wanted to stay in an upscale hotel in a great location. This hotel was ideal. Great sleep! The staff was accommodating. Due to the rain, we asked for a taxi to get us to expedia rent a car for our car rental. Staff at the desk told us about the underground path that took us comfortable to Expedia and we stopped for coffee.
Enjoyed our stay. Due to location, we were able to easily walk to all the attractions we wanted to see while in Halifax.
The hotel staff were wonderful, however, for the price, I would look elsewhere. At night you could here a knocking sound in the bathroom, the ceiling had some scuff marks on it, the dresser, carpeting and wallpaper in the rooms and hallways were very outdated and the outside lounge was totally smoke free. There were also no views to speak off. I think the hotel is better suited for a business... more
Great Hotel, friendly staff, and in an excellent location right in the center of downtown.
Great hotel. . Near the pier. . Close to many restaurants and local attractions all with walking distance. Lots of hills. . But that is Halifax. Clean modern hotel with great very friendly staff. Food at hotel is very very good. Has to have best brunch in the city
Beautiful, modern looking decor inside; friendly and helpful staff; great pool, hot tub and sauna area; our concierge arranged for the hotel car service to take us to the train station at no charge instead of us having to pay for a cab. The hotel is a bit of a steep climb from the waterfront but centrally located. Highly recommended.
Ocean playground is a very good way to describe Nova Scotia
Always a pleasure to stay at the Prince George - they never disappoint. Gio is one of the best restaurants in the City. The staff are excellent. I will always come back when visiting Halifax.
Great stay, good location, no views but in the heart of town
Very upscale lobby and facilities. Hot tub was relaxing. Location for walking around the city was excellent!
Only stayed one night at the George and loved it. Walked everywhere we wanted to go, waterfront, gardens, casino, citadel. Friendly courteous staff, great pool. Would stay there again!
Great hotel conveniently situated for the Citadel, harbour boardwalk and restaurants. Breakfast was not included in the cost but a good buffet style breakfast was available for $18. Friendly and helpful staff. Views across the river from the upper floors (although punctuated by high-rise buildings!).
I thought from the description, that the hotel was an old classic property .. Wrong ..It was kind of pretentious, without a reason to be so, and the front desk clerk was not too friendly when we checked in. $22.00 to park overnight seemed quite steep to us for Halifax.Fitness center with pool was nice, but lacked an excercise bike, just had a spinning bike which i don't use, and have never seen... more

I'm fresh back from a lovely stay at the Prince George Hotel.
Admittedly, my stay started a little rocky as they sent me to my room, the key opened the door and it hadn't yet been cleaned. Yikes, this is not my room. On the plus side it is an attractive hotel. Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the hotel and is a decent speed.

Executive Suite was great! Room service was quick and accommodating. I would say it is the best hotel in Halifax. They recently have gone through a renovation. My husband and I loved the Prince George. Everyone was so helpful. The Hotel was lovely. Very clean, and I would recommend it to anyone.
Although a brief stay the hotel was very comfortable & the rooms were large. Great service and the staff very polite. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
The Prince George is conveniently located in downtown Halifax, about half-way up the hill from the busy harbour front to the old Citadel built to protect this important naval port. Only a few steps away are both the Metro Centre (sports events and concerts) and the Convention Centre. Of course, there are the usual great restaurants and pubs of Halifax within very short walking distance as well.... more
If you have the money, a really nice central location is the Prince George Hotel. It's within walking distance of the water and a park. It is quite pricy but it's definetely worth it.
A regular room runs about $270 a night.
Unique Quality: Very upper class hotel. If you're going to Halifax for a concert, most bands stay there, so book and get yourself some close-ups.
We received a discount rate for staying at the Prince George because my cousin had booked a block of rooms there for guests of his wedding (the reception was also held there.) I understand the rates are usually much higher. It was nice but if it was regular price it would be way too rich for my blood! Complimentary "National Post" newspapers and things like that...
Staff was very professional,...

I really liked that there was a parking area which could be valet if needed. The rooms were great with free wi fi and in room coffee for those early mornings. restaurant was great. loved the daycore and the location is close to everything in halifax.
I liked the pool with its hot tub and sauna but found it to be a bit small if there were alot of guests swimming. Would suggest a few more...

In diesem Hotel hat alles gepasst, außer dem Swimming Pool. Dort war es etwas unsauber und renovierungs- bedürftig
The staff were very knowledgable and friendly. The beds were very comfortable.
The breakfast buffet was very average.
Liked the continental brkfast in the Crown Room and the proximity to the Metro Centre.
Food was very good, and the staff were friendlyand very helpful
Breakfast discontinued to early 10.30 am. Parking was a bit troublesome
Very clean and close to the WTCC
I never got my email receipt for my stay, there is a possibility that it could have been my email that was at issue
Very attentive and friendly staff and nice facility. Very clean and
friendly city.
The "restaurant" consisted of some tables sandwiched in the
middle of the bar floor which we were told were not availabe anyway due
to some group (isn't that what banquet rooms are for) but they did
seat us in a booth all of three feet from the group so we wouldn't
miss any of their antics. My salmon consisted...

Preis- Leistungsverhälnis sehr gut. Super Frühstück Sehr gute Lage in Halifax
The staff at Gigo;s were excellent, knowledgeable, polite, and always ready to assist in any way possible.
The Cost??????
Superb hotel - great location, helpful staff, super clean, great breakfast.
Nothing.
Je connais l'hôtel depuis longtemps et le recommande fortement.
L'hôtel est propre et super confortable mais les employés font tout
le charme de l'endroit et rendent les clients très à l'aise.
Great location in downtown Halifax. Friendly and efficient staff. Good size, clean rooms. A nice hotel.
All good.
I loved the small details such as the soap dispenser near the sink and
in the shower. The makeup remover pads, bottles of wine. The little
details really make the hotel. Also loved the restaurant and thr
executive lounge on my floor.
There needs to be an accessible outlet near the bed. I had to unplug
the clock radio in order to charge my cell phone. I found that to be
an inconvenience. Every...

Very business-like. No charm nor special luxury.
Accueil, service, confort du lit, confort de la chambre en général (opacité des rideaux, etc., cafetière, douche, etc.)
Petit déjeuner un peu cher et compliqué si on souhaite quelque chose de simple.
Room was very comfortable, especially the bed. I liked that the fact that if you said you did not want towels etc changing then they didn't. There was a great choice for breakfast. Staff on reception and on the door were friendly and helpful.
The bathroom - there was no where to leave the towel while showering (There was room for a rail on the wall alongside the bath.). The sopa dispenser was...

Nice Hotel..well connected by underground to adjacent building,
convention center, shopping center.
Tv was a bit of a nuisance....slow to go through channels. Hotel wifi
was a bit slow. Faster to leave connection through bell.
very beautiful. loved the room loved loved the swimming pool and hot tub.. loved the location.
Accomodations are very comfortable and clean. The location is excellent for Metro Centre and downtown shopping etc. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Friendly staff, excellent food & absolutely the best beds ever.
Modern and convenient to downtown. Spacious well appointed rooms.
Checkin and checkout staff can be borderine unfriendly - this observation after staying at the hotel more than once. Not necessary in an otherwise great hotel.
Great location, great service, high quality room and nice attention to detail.
١- طاقم الفندق جدا متعاون و خاصة شاب سوري او لبناني اسمه بسام خوري كان

the proximity to GIO the restauarant was great.
the Hotel is a bit dated, although clean, lovely and accomodating.
I don't expect to pay $265 dollars per room per night and listen to dogs barking in the room next , I could even here the people next door going to the bathroom , sound proofing in this pad was terrible , will never stay here again 100% not
One of the best hotels I have stayed in. The Prince George is first
class all the way.
Directions to the hotel when walking from the harbor are not
easily found.
Gio restaurant is amazing. Food and service is outstanding. The breakfast buffet and menu options at the Terrace restaurant is incredible. Staff at hotel are super-friendly and the pedestrian walkway to other buildings such as Scotia Square is a great plus.
Parking is a pain. And valet is $$$$!!! Downtown location is both a blessing AND a curse.
All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Rooms were spacious modern and clean. Check in and out was quick and easy. Close proximity to the tourist area
Absolutely nothing
V friendly staff, great breakfast , easy parking, excellent location for sightseeing
Noisy party on Saturday night
Location
Had to pay for parking. No continental breakfast. Poor room heating.
Stayed here for two nights this weekend and was treated with hostility. Whether or not this was the way they normally treat their guests or if they were being unfair to us, perhaps because of our age? Apparently people in their early 20s don't deserve the same treatment as older guests.
We got a room with two double beds on the 2nd floor. The rooms were indeed clean, however they were...

Room smells like cigars, it's small and parking is very expensive
The rooms are clean and nice, but nothing spectacular. They tell you that for extra 30 dollars you can get a room on the top floor with exclusive access to a lounge with included breakfast. When you go to the lounge you realise they have three boxes of cereal, a coffee machine, a pitcher of milk, a pitcher of juice, some tea, some bagels, some pastries and dozen boiled peeled eggs. Walked all over downtown. Many good restaurants and attractions nearby.
This is one of the best hotels in Halifax, located right in the heart of all the action. It's clean, luxurious and the service is above average. They gave us a free upgrade and patiently helped with our dinner reservation plans -- even when we changed our minds, more than once. The restaurant is definitely the finest in the city (my husband's a chef and I'm a spoiled foodie). If you are traveling to Nova Scotia, you must stay at the Prince George Hotel in Halifax. Everything about our stay was perfect! I stayed here for three nights in the fall of 2011 and enjoyed the experience. The staff were attentive to my needs, parking was decent, and the hotel has the added benefit of being attached to WTCC downtown. I had a low-tier room, but it was still a great experience overall. Decor in the room was nice and it came with traditional amenities.
Good hotel in the heart of Halifax. Walking distance of bars and restaurants. Room is simple and I would have expected more for the price but nice bathroom and very nice staff. I didn't try breakfast.
I decided to treat myself to an overnight stay at the Prince George over Open City weekend so I could stumble to my downtown hotel after a day and evening of merriment, rather than deal with getting back to Dartmouth. It was a fun splurge - I had a deluxe guestroom with king -size bed and a partial view of the Citadel.
It was a nicely-furnished basic room - bed, flat-screen TV, desk, chair,...

I would recomeend this hotel because it is centrally located in downtown Halifax.
Amazing accommodations, Great value, Best restaurant & BEST STAFF! I've stayed at a few different hotels in downtown Halifax and I can honestly say that none can compare to The Prince George!
Very impressed with this hotel. The all around fantastic service can be readily found in the ease to which quality is given. Ahhh, Prince George, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways!
Mike reserved us a beautiful room on their top Crown floor. King sized bed with duvet covers and down pillows. I spent as much time in that luxurious bed as possible.

I just need to publish a recommendation for a special family event. If you've never been to the Prince George Hotel's Sunday Brunch, you should absolutely go. Love this hotel, everyone is really nice and the place was really comfy. but hands down the best Sunday brunch that I have ever eaten in my life. My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Prince George. Cheerful and helpful staff esp. the restaurant breakfast wait staff and guest services. I would definitely recommend this hotel for someone looking to see Halifax.
I've been to the Prince George for a few weddings and events over the years, but somehow had never experienced their famed Sunday Brunch until this past Father's Day.

We went here for one night on our honeymoon touring Novia Scotia in a convertible. We were greeted with complimentary champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. The rooms were very nice and clean. Hotel was fine, but what really helped make the trip great was the advice from Noah when we checked in at night. We wanted to go somewhere for a drink and I'm a beer afficiando. Tucked away on a downtown side street, the Prince George Hotel contains prize swank and a certain bout of exclusivity. Seconds away from anything and everything, the corner of Market Street tends to be off the main route for the bulk of downtown traffic.

We had a nice enough time at the Prince George until I found the extra $300 they charged us to clean the room because they said it smelled like smoke and they found cigarette butts in the room. “Service was solid! The restaurant staff accomidated us when we were late for the buffet and the front dest was beyond friendly.”
An otherwise lovely Halifax holiday was spoiled when I got home and learned that I had been charged a $300 deep cleaning fee because someone had been smoking in our room. Not my husband or me, but apparently the room smelled of smoke. If I had known I was going to pay nearly $500/night I would have stayed somewhere much nicer than the Prince George.
We had a wonderful time at the Prince George. We have stayed in many different Halifax area hotels and it is our new favourite. My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary in October 2008. The staff was really friendly, the bed was really comfortable and the overall appearance of the hotel was beautiful. It was our first time in Halifax and our first time staying at the Prince George Hotel. Have you noticed that a lot of the newer hotels partner with a chain restaurant for their main dining? I really don't like that. When I go to a hotel, I want to sit down in a lovely, comfortable restaurant, with staff employed by the hotel, and be served as a hotel guest. I don't want to go to the hotel restaurant only to find its an East Side Mario's or Niche. Both good restaurants in their... more
