In December 2013 someone called our business asking general questions about what kind of copier we used etc. In the first week of June I answered the phone at Park Meadows Christian Playschool one morning. The male on the phone indicated he was calling from Xerox Canada about our ...... (he gave make, model and number). He then asked if we had received a letter advising that our toner costs were going to increase. He said that because we didn't receive this they wanted to give it to us at a reduced rate. I then interrupted and said that I don't have authority to order supplies, that was our administrators' role. I told him "You need to call _____at 403 XXX-XXXX to talk to him about this." I said goodbye and hung up. I immediately called upstairs and told _____. * I never confirmed that we had a Xerox or our model and make. * I never gave more than my first name when I answered the phone initially. * I clearly stated that I had no authority to order and he needed to talk to _____. * He never asked or mentioned _____'s name and I never used that name in this conversation. * I never indicated a desire to receive any product. May 28, 2014, the business was sent a toner and a following invoice for the amount of 470.35. I called them on a few occasions and left messages which was finally returned by a Nathaniel. He couldn't find my file and transferred my call to his boss - Jeff. Jeff was very aggressive on the phone saying that we ordered the toner and that I was calling his employees liars. This conversation went around in circles in which I kept asking that he send a courier back to get his toner and delete this invoice and him dancing around the question. I kept demanding and he kept getting more belligerent until he called me an a@!%!*e and hung up on me.
This is an outright scam. They will send and invoice product that wasn't ordered for 10X the market price. If you call them out they will try to argue that they are a legitimate business. They are basically hoping that you will just pay the invoice without questioning it. The guy will introduce himself as Jeff Thompson. Be very careful, and hang up if you receive a telemarketing call from this name. - Burnaby, BC
January 12, 2012: I love how all the positive reviews for this co DEFEND their habit of 'mistakenly' invoicing for several hundred dollars. Obviously this is just an innocent mistake that happens every single time, poor misunderstood company! We received another call today from this company. When I told her I'd already told her company in no uncertain terms that we dealt with someone else and had no intention of buying from them she started to try and insist that they'd never called before. Nice. I hung up before she could start telling me about what a wonderful opportunity I was missing out on by telling them to stop calling!
March 16 2011: I got a call from someone representing this company today. At first they heavily inferred that we did business with them - asking if we'd received their 'notice' and explaining that toner prices were about to go up but not to worry if I didn't get this 'notice', I could still get in on the 'price lock'! When I told him we purchase toner from a completely different company and asked him what he was talking about he stammered and changed the subject to how it was 'a global price raise' and again tried to get me to agree to getting in on this 'price lock'. SHADY. I told him I wasn't interested and we ended the call. I'd love to know where they get their information though, because he knew one of the printer models we use. Unsurprised to google the company and see these reviews as the first result.
Hi, just wanted to let everyone know that we did have any problems with them. They called to say that the toners were going up and price and wanted to know if we would like some at the lower price. I know how much toners are so I said yes. It was deliver in couple of days. Then the invoice was mail, wrong price , I called, price was changed no hassel nothing, they even waved the shipping and handling charges cause of the problem. So maybe they are trying to changed their ways..
Do not deal with this company...their toner is WAY overpriced (like 6x what it costs at Office Depot)! They caught me at a busy moment and as far as I'm concerned committed business rape.
BEWARE!! THIS COMPANY RUNS A SCAM...this is how it works. First they call your office to inquire about your printers, copiers etc. to get model #'s that you use. They do not attempt to sell anything on the first call...just to gather info. They wait a couple of months and then call back to suggest that they are your account rep (they rattle off the copiers, printers and model # you use to build your confidence that they are in fact who they say they are) and that toner is about to increase in cost dramatically. They are calling to save you money by having you order before the rate goes up. They sent a $30 suggested retail toner and then invoiced $230 plus $19 shipping...a 666% over-charge...a TOTAL SCAM!! I dug around a bit, called a few "legit" office supply companies and they are VERY familiar with the scam. I guess most victims just pay it. We did not. Office Impressions came to pick up their order...so it cost them to pick it up. Spread the word!
Like with many of the other reviewers here, Office Impressions called and offered toner, giving the impression that it was free of charge. The toner arrived, clearly leaking from the unopened box. There was also an invoice for over $400 - a total rip-off! Office Impressions staff are fine until you challenge their business practices, at which point they become belligerent and hostile. Have nothing to do with these crooks.
This company and the owners are being investigated by several law inforcement agencies. If they call you hang up!!!!!!! My company was called by someone sending us a free book so needed the make of our photocopier, then a week later I received a call from a man telling me that toner is going up and they will send me a free toner and then lock last years price for me for a year. A week later I received the toner, shortly after that I received a bill for over 4 times what I pay now. When I called I spoke to a man who said he was Myles, he was very rude and demanded payment. I did some looking in to this company and seems they have been doing this to companies for a number of years.....Now law enforcement agencies are in the process of shutting this scam down
We were contacted by this company and, yes we were taken aback by the invoice we received. However, what did we do? We phoned them. Then we negotiated a price. Next, we sent a list of our machines and they sent us quotes. Several of the prices were far below what Staples was charging so we now get the bulk of our supplies from Office Impressions. Come on people, in this economy companies are trying new ways to build a business. You may not agree with some of the methods, but we ended up with a good deal and excellent customer support. Don't be so quick to judge.
These guys are complete scam artists!!!. They called pretending that they were affliated with our regular supplier and that because their was going to be an increase in price of the cartridges they were going to send me 2 FREE toners. I bought it...they caught me in the middle of doing something else. Week later 1 cartridge shows up, then comes an invoice for 2 cartridges at 4 times the price of what I would normally pay for one. After speaking with my local company and searching them on the internet, these guys have been well know for doing this scam for a while now. They then call requesting payment by harassing my accounts payable clerk. Finally, got around to phoning them back and spoke to a "Myles" and gave him a piece of my mind of what they are doing and up to by challenging him on it. He didn't like me too much, quite a bit of yelling at the end of it. He said they will be here to pick the cartridge back up within 2 days. We'll see. I am located in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
This business is a complete scam. They call saying they are giving you something for free then send you a bill. They laughed when I called back to complain. Do not do dealings with this company!!!
These company called again today a month after this first incident. Trying to do a similar scam again. I had reported this company to the BBB, and they were not supposed to ever contact us again. They even faxed over a signed letter stating they would never contact us again, and yet they tried the exact same thing again today. How is this legal????
I totally agree with the complaints here...they ph someone in your business and tell them that toner is going up in price and you had better order some now. They charge way above the market price and try to scare you away from returning anything by quoting some unrealistic restocking fee. I heavily advise that you avoide them at all costs. Just go with Staples, Office Depot or something and avoid all the headaches!
We purchased toner from Office Impressions about a month ago. I found them to be a bit pricey at first, but after talking to their customer service department I was completely satisfied. They told me about their price match policy. They adjusted my pricing and now I'm paying way less than the Staples and Grand & T!
Again:
I will SAY IT AGAIN. If these people called up and wanted to do business then they should not LIE and state that they already have an order and are calling to confirm our address. They then use the person who they are talking to as the person who made the order. Why doesn't anyone comment on that??????
Don't keep avoiding this, it's not going to go away. You can state how wonderful they are to your hearts content. Maybe you actually did get great service and great prices. I just refuse to do business with a company that starts of their relationship with us with a LIE.
To All you "employees":
Why should I do business with a company that starts of the business relationship with a lie? If they want my business (as I stated in my review) then maybe they should be honest in the FIRST place.
Call asking to confirm address claiming someone made an order. Then you receive a very high priced toner (for a printer we don't even have). Call them, tell them to come pick up their toner. DON'T pay their invoice. Why do these companies have to do this? Don't they realize if they were honest in the first place I MIGHT ACTUALLY BUY SOMETHING FROM THEM!!!
These guys contacted my assistant some months ago and she agreed to them sending her a cartridge for our Epson printer. I got the invoice a while later and had a fit. I called them expecting a bunch of telemarketer tricks only to be told it was an error. In fact, they beat the price I was paying by a good margin. When our obligation runs out we will be getting ink for our big photocopier from them as well. Ranting and raving on here is kind of pointless. Call them and complain. It worked for us.
People, these guys are TELEMARKETERS!!! Talk to them, see what happens!!! I called Office Impressions, admittedly a little irate, and by the end of the conversation was very glad I did!!!!
Ive got to say at first had several issues, including pricing. Contacted customer service and they not only resolved the issue, but ended up BEATING my prices!! Very friendly and courteous, not something to come by often. Now use them exclusively!!
Beware when you get a phone call from Office Impressions. I suggest you'd just HANG UP ON THEM IMMEDIATELY. In my case, they called me a few times with reduced rates on some toners, to which I simply listened without committing to order anything. The next thing I knew was a box they shipped to me with 2 rediculously over-priced toner cartridges. I phoned them and insisted they take back the box at their cost. The man whom I spoke with talked with a nasty tone that was to intimidate. I agree with most other reviews here that thought the company was running a scam. I deal with many sales persons over the phones and never had I encountered any company that left me with such an icky feeling. The company is anything but honest!
These folks are a total scam. Say they are going to send you something free and then send you a invoice for fives times the real cost. Then they harrass you and continue to try and scam you. Avoid all contact!!
2X the price. Called about a month ago as some survey asking about models then amazingly some toner shows up. Thinking nothing of it, reception installed it. Poured all over the inside of the machine. Tech had to be called out.
Now today get a call out of the blue saying we owe them for a shipment that was about to be sent for 3 more cartridges. AND we better send in a handwritten PO in 10 minutes or they would call the president. Luckily the president just transfered it to IT who handles the toner supply and after a quick search found all about their little operation.
Fun call telling them what they can do with their product ...
Their pricing scheme is ludicrous. It provides the same product at twice the price plus shipping costs. This is not an effective way to purchase toner.
Loved Office Impressions. Always on time, always reasonably priced, and always friendly whenever they call. Best service we could ask for.
These guys are running are scam. What they are doing is illegal. They try to send you items you didn't order, charge you three to four times what they are worth and then call and yell at you and harass you for money. You do NOT need to pay their phony invoices. I would suggest reporting them to BBB!
Had a similar issue with my office manager ordering toner cartridges over the phone. Their customer service resolved my issue right away and I ended up keeping the toners. I now use Office Impressions for my entire fleet of printers. Compared with Staples, I'm getting much better service and pricing.
I'm very surprised to read these complaints. I've been a customer for over two years now and will continue to be.
Bob
Have to agree with the last post. Received an invoice today for a toner totalling $468.10
Our receptionist received a call about a week prior about receiving a complementary toner. There was no permission given on any product purchase.
Heads up people!
This company is using predatory sales tactics to prey on people.
They cold call you and say "Your order is ready, can you confirm printer makes and models please?"
People in mid-sized companies with no purchasing department assume someone from the company has ordered toner and confirm the make/models and Office Impressions ships you their overpriced product that no one ordered in the first place.
There should be laws against this!
Office Impressions offers these services: office supplies.
