Upscale classic lights with service galore
I've been going to this store for 2 decades when they were on Broadway, then on Cambie and now in Kerrisdale. Quality and taste is far better than the big box retailers such as Home Depot and Canadian Tire.
Anybody wanting classic design and superior quality will find something within their budget. And the well-heeled will be pleased.
Before and after sales service is amazing. They are low key, courteous and literally know lights inside and out. Give them a try!
This is an update to above review.
In July, 2011 I purchase 2 lamps from Light the Store. I know basic electrical wiring but puzzled over the ceiling wiring. I phoned Light the Store from Victoria, BC and Dave told me what to look for. Clear in his directions I put the light in myself. Great service.

This place is a true ten in our city. Yes, some of the lamps are
expensive --but you have selection and distinctive designs that
are seen no where else.
I have purchased lamps and light fixtures from this company for
years in their previous locations -- and here on 41st. I agree with the
lady who said "if they don's have it, they will order it for you."

Went to buy a high quality light from an experienced professional -- walked out after he told me the price was 900.00 then went into the back room to make a phone call to come back to tell me he made a mistake. The price was now 1000.00! This shop should be bankrupt soon, so keep your eyes out for going out of business sales.

I was recommended this store to check out by chance. Although they didn't have specifically what I needed, the person whom assistant me was more than helpful in guiding me in the right direction. I came all the way from Surrey that day, based on this chance to get said item. I didn't find the visit a waste since good customer service in general is hard to find.

Don't shop there!!!!!
The world's worst sales staff - rude, in-your-face
ignorant and all dumb as a stick.
I haven't met the manager or owner but I doubt they would be
any better - what kind of person would hire idiots like these anyway?!
He must not care too much they are losing business for him.

Why, you may ask (or not... realistically you probably don't care) is this food-obsessed Yelper taking time out of her busy eating schedule to review a lighting store? The answer is quite simple, Light the Store helped me out when I was in a bind and in return, I hope to spread the word on this great specialty lighting store.
