Great Keg steaks, a casual atmosphere, and friendly, knowledgeable service.
Ah the Keg Mansion. I adore this restaurant. Take the reliability and consistency of the Keg and marry it with a historic stunningly beautiful landmark and you have the Keg Mansion. This is truly a beautiful place and every room of the former house is decorated differently. I highly recommend it.
The Keg is consistently amazing for their quality food, service and atmosphere however the Keg Mansion ratchets the atmosphere up a notch by housing their restaurant at the historic Bombay Bicycle Club. The multi level restaurant is in a mansion which is beautifully maintained and lavish. Head there over the holiday season to be immersed in all things Christmas. It feels like magic here.
Love the atmosphere, not like other Kegs. The mansion is magnificant, the place is cozy and the wait staffs are great! The food is always good!
This location has it all! Great food, fantastic service and the most luxurious of atmospheres. The Keg Mansion features several different upscale dinning rooms, each with it's own feel and decor of upscaleness. For more of a laid back feel, check out the upstairs barroom..you can still order all the same great food they serve downstairs but its more of a sports/pickup bar. The waiters and waiteresses are friendly and nice to look at too, the drinks arent too shaby either...If you've never had a Keg sized Ceasar you really are missing out!
The Keg Mansion is like the more sophisticated older brother of all keg locations. The ambiance alone makes the visit worth while, not to mention the top-notch food (that every keg has). You really can't go wrong.
Everyone has been to the Keg... Right? Well if not let me tell you one of the higher up steak houses you can go to. Most Kegs are well rounded chain serving delicious steaks / wines / lobster
However, over at the mansion it is different! you don't have the feel as if your in a chain restaurant the Mansion itself is enriched with history and many famous characters that rumor holds are still there to this day haunting the grounds.
I love its steaks, everytime I go I try something different and I'm always pleased with what I get. the setting and building of this Keg location specifically is different from all others. That's because of its Victorian style building and the exceptionally elegant decoration inside and outside, Not like other Keg locations, this one I wouldn't recommend bringing your kids with you to, other locations are definitely more kids-friendly! but in general service and waiters are awsome!
The Keg restaurants always have great food. Loved that this one is located in an old (said to be haunted) mansion. Great surroundings and good food!
Hadn't been to the Mansion Keg in 15 years+, so it shouldn't have surprised me that things were going to be a little different....I just didn't expect the quality of food to be as average as it was, at least on that day. The ambience is not what I remembered from years ago, rather dark and musty, with people squished... more
Our family had a fantastic time at this restaurant. The interior is unique and supposedly some of the rooms are haunted; the staff notes the ghosts (which are friendly) only show themselves when the place is quite.
We had combinations of steak, prime rib and Alaskan King Crab. Were all outstanding. The crab tasted fresh and the steak and prime...

Never been disappointed at the Keg.
This was the first time we visited this location downtown Toronto with friends.
Its very tight .. because its been converted from an old Toronto Mansion.. so that's not the best especially since it was winter and everyone had coats. Aside from the obvious space issue though everything was perfect.
Steak is excellent, lots...

I'm always a fan of The Keg, so headed to this reliable restaurant while in Toronto on vacation. The mansion is a historic, beautiful building. Tasty food, as always, at a great location.
Our server, Emma managed to keep several tables all happy at once. I was not really in the mood for steak so I had the two lobster tails that were done to perfection. The sour dough bread was a real treat. And, our desert was a coffee caramel ice cream cake wedge enough to send two of us into bliss.... more
Picture the Keg in an old mansion! Romantic setting for dinner with an excellent lounge on the 2nd floor to grab a drink while waiting for your table. They told us (on a Saturday night) that it would be a 1 hour wait for our table. After going up to the lounge and ordering a drink, our table was pretty... more
Very nice place and staff, the food is excellent (the meat especially is superb), even the desserts, I warmly recommend this place
A romantic atmosphere with dim lighting and an upper floor with a sports bar! Every room is dimly lit and while you wait there are tables in almost any space available....even halfway to the upper floor, the second floor landing has a couple of small tables. They have Amazing staff! Very friendly and attentive to your needs. I even had... more
I've been to most of the Keg restaurants in Mississauga, Oakville, and Niagara areas. Really you can't go wrong with this restaurant chain. It is consistent with their service and food. One of our friends that live in downtown Toronto asked for their birthday to go out for dinner at the Keg Mansion. I had been to this Keg some twenty... more
This place is pretty big and always busy. There's never a question that The Keg will always outdo pretty much everything else around it. This particular occasion was a little celebration of sorts with my girlfriend on obtaining a full-contracted teaching job in York Region. As per usual on a Friday night it was packed inside. We opted to go... more
My husband and I ate here for my birthday on March 7th and had a great time. The atmosphere is very cool and our food was excellent too. Thank you to our server Jason S. , he was very professional and very friendly and made our night. We were told it would be over an hour wait for a table... more
We ate at Mansion Keg as our first and last meal of our trip as it was close to where we were staying. The food was very tasty however I found that my first meal was much tastier than the second visit though this could have been down to the menu selection. If you like the Keg, this will be your favorite. Great Keg fare in an unbeatable atmosphere in a heritage building. We almost always stop in on visits to Toronto. No reservations accepted so go early or be prepared to wait.
Amazing food, great atmosphere and delicious cocktails. This is a must visit destination while staying in Toronto.
I heard lot about this place and always wanted to come.
It was small but very cozy. Food was great and the server was very polite.
I liked the lighting and interior a lot. It is one of most romantic place for couples.
Price is not so bad compared to their food quality.
Very pleasant experience!
This keg is honestly one of the most beautiful restaurants in Toronto. Full of history and great stories. There is a book that you can ask for outlining the history of the mansion. Apparently it is haunted which adds to the appeal of dining here.
The food is GREAT! I usually have the steak topped with walnuts and goat cheese....

The keg mansion is really beautiful. It has a good vibe. The service was great. They do not take reservations so when we got there they told us the wait would be 1 1/2 hrs. We went to celebrate a birthday for an 11 year-old with 2 adults and 6 boys. Everything was perfect! Boys had great meals complete with apps and dessert. Adults had tender steak... more
We often go on a saturday night and there is often a large lineup to get into the main floor diner. that does not deter us as both my wife and I go onto the 2nd floor bar area. I'm in love with the way they make their new york strip and alaskan king crab legs. not once did I... more
The restaurant is incredible, beautiful old style mansion and food and service was superb. If you want a delicious steak this is the place to eat in Toronto!
We went there, on our anniversary night.., the service was fast and polite, but better than that, the food was tasty. I recommend it completely
Had dinner there this past Sunday. We always try to get to a Keg when we are back in Canada as we are never disappointed. Arrived for our reservation and were seated quickly by the fireplace. The old house is very nice, but it seems that there are too many tables in the rooms, at least the room we were... more
Visited this great restaurant on Sunday 2nd February this year. Very friendly and helpful staff both in the bar and restaurant. Service and food were perfect. Steak done just as I had asked. this is not only a decent dinner (at a price, but still), it is also a really cool place to eat. the mansion is full of intersting rooms and bars and the service is great.
I visited with colleagues and the steak was one of the best I have tried ! Cooked to perfection and very tasty. Portions are just the right size and the pomegranate gimlet is to be recommended
The Keg is our go to place for great steaks - whether we're celebrating a special occasion, a business meeting, a romantic dinner or a dinner with family. I attended a group dinner at this restaurant and it was one of the best steaks I have had at a Keg. I always heard the Keg Mansion was the best in the Keg chain of restaurants. The food is a given at the Keg = just the best - but this place, the keg mansion is simply stunning = wonderful history and beautiful castle-like mansion a must.
As the title implies, I am a big fan of The Keg restaurants. Whether it's Winninpeg, Windsor, Niagara Falls or Toronto, I have never been disappointed in my meal at The Keg. This was a first time visit for me, although I'd meant to go for many years. Arriving at 7:30 on a Saturday night, it felt like half of Toronto was there! We were very hungry when we arrived. My son and I ordered steaks medium well while my husband ordered a shrimp dinner. My son's filet arrived rare and had a lot of fat throughout as did my steak. Both steaks had a funny, unpleasant flavor. Our waitress arrived maybe 5 minutes after our dinners and asked if everything was ok.... more
Went here after reading its history - love the haunted history. Steak was scrumptious, service excellent and mansion was maintained to showcase the original character. After dinner we went upstairs to have an after dinner drink but weren't visited by any spirits- a must while visiting the area!!
Fantastic Steak, some of the best ever. Been here about 6 times this year, always a top choice for my partner, friends and I.
Love it.
This restaurant has great service and great food (apart from the coffee), but it is one of the more expensive places I've visited in Toronto. The New York strip loin (12 oz) was nicely seasoned and cooked, but a friends steak (7 oz) was tiny. The desserts were real fillers. For a straight entrée and a couple of drinks each,... more
Don't let the appearance fool you. When we pulled up to the restaurant (not in a great neighborhood and next to a gas station), we saw that they converted an old mansion into a restaurant. What a wonderful night we had thanks to our server Jonah and the manager Caroline. It was a special occasion made even better by the impeccable service and fantastic food. I have always said that The Keg is the Starbucks of Steak places: you get the exact same product, no matter which location you visit. The service is pretty consistent too. As with Starbucks, you can probably get a better product elsewhere... but you would be taking a chance. At least with The Keg, I know exactly what I am getting every time.I like this particular location a lot. Every time I... more

The Keg Mansion is around the corner from my house. I have been a couple times and i really like it. The keg food is notoriously good, everyone knows this. Very beautiful place to enjoy a steak! I've only gone here once and all I have to say is WOW! This place is a masterpiece. The moment you walk in the decor really grabs your attention. Hip happening joint with some really random music playing in the background, apparently there's a few locations throughout Toronto. The food was pretty wacky..reminded me of Outback steakhouse in taste and presentation but higher prices. It's basically American style cuisine done wrong. I've come here numerous times over the years, mostly for friends Birthday parties or random get togethers, however I have never come here for the steak. Yes, I know that's strange and wrong. I have, however had lots of their appetizers and countless... more
WOW! This was my reaction to walking into the historic Keg mansion. I love the architecture that dates back to Confederation. My food rating for the Keg chain is typically 4-5 stars as I've only had one bad experience over the 20 or so years of eating at their restaurants. The Victorian era mansion is awesome. The food - 'eh. Typical steakhouse.
My gf and I visited Toronto for the weekend. I found this place here on Yelp and it was excellent. We had to wait at the bar for our table for a half an hour, but that was just enough time to have a few drinks and make some friends. Not to mention the fact that we got to watch the bartender at the upstairs bar knock 12 shots of Jager into pint glasses with Red Bull. It was perfect domino... more
I would rate the food 4. Ambience 1. Unless you're into yelling at your party all night, seeing college kids screaming at their batchelor party. It was my dad's birthday celebration and we had to leave before cake arrived as the noise was... more
I came here for my 2nd anniversary in January. We spent over $100 and were still hungry at the end of the night because portions were tiny, and the vegetables were overcooked and sparse beside our tiny saucer of fries and steaks. I went here with family last weekend on a friend's recommendation and was not disappointed. The food was delicious, I got the teriyaki steak, which was great. My gf took me to dinner there the other night after my first day in Canada. This place is set up pretty cool, it's an old mansion (as the name implies) that has been completely redone and turned into a restaurant. Absolutely love it. In a side-by-side comparison with Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, the Keg wins hands down. Half the price, amazing atmosphere, incredible historic architecture and great service.
Always the best steaks. Love the atmosphere. Always great service and friendly staff. Love going here. I will probably go here for my birthday
Was I ever disappointed. This used to be a solid place for steaks; now, it's become a tired assembly line franchise. Not sure what happened over the past few years. For the price, there are better options and in fact, each Keg seems to be different too (the one on York Street is better). Steak was way fatty, sides seemed to be slopped together quickly and worst of all - it was all COLD... more
The best Keg I've encountered anywhere. Service is excellent, the architecture and mansion is pure Gothic Victorian Revival of great historical importance to the city. Most important? The room is a real treat, although very difficult to get over... more
Known locally as the Keg Mansion, this is one of the best Keg locations. The house itself just adds more ambiance to your dining experience, although there are tales about it being haunted. If you like steak and are prepared to spend a nice sum of money one one you will remember for a very long time, then check out this restaurant in a swanky historical (and haunted) Victorian Mansion. At my most recent meal here at one point I felt the steak I was eating was too good for me. But I kept quiet and pretended otherwise.
I took my hubby here for his Birthday recently. We were tucked away in a romantic little booth. The service was awesome. The food was good. The prices are decent too. The feel is cozy elegance.
A steak restaurant for those who don't know steak restaurants. Make no mistake, the food is always good and I never have anything to complain about with the service, but it's the atmosphere that gets me every time. My only comment is regarding the noise level. If you want a quieter meal go upstairs and seek out the South East corner area beyond the bar. A lot quieter and I have always received good service. Food and Drink are up to the usual high Keg standards, but do I wish they would get rid of... more
I give this one five stars because they actually do not mark up thier wine that much. You can get a decent bottle of wine for a great price. Oh and steak, atmosphere and service are also good. Yes it is a chain but I am never disappointed. The value is good for what you get here.
Great atmosphere. I live in the area so try to get there every other month. Never had a bad meal or bad service yet. Always have enough left over to bring home. Steaks are large, Prime Rib is excellent too. The horseradish is quite strong so be warned, it can make ya choke a little.
Best Keg I've ever been to. Nothing more to be said.I base all my ratings and reviews on a couple simple categories: the food, the service, and the venue (which includes the washrooms.)This place gets five stars in all of those categories. I could go on forever about how good it is if I don't leave it at that. Cannot compliment this place enough. If your looking for a Keg and have some time:... more

The Keg Mansion should be fun. Built into one of the many mansions found on Jarvis Street, you want this place to work. And it does have a bit of fun rolled into it. The steak isn't too bad either. There are few places that... more
I'm not sure if there is anything more manly than a steak and unlike other man symbols (pantyhose-1600's, handlebar mustaches-1800's, make-up -1970's) the steak has remained as a marker for your manliness. There are many ways to eat your steak but one of the best ways is to do it in your giant mansion, or if you don't have your own you can use Vincent Massey's the current home of the Keg... more

This Keg location - commonly referred to as the Keg Mansion - is HUGE. It's set up in a old house on Jarvis so it's very ambiance is very dark and Gothic. The restaurant is housed in a historical mansion where famous Canadian dignitaries (McMaster, and Massey) lived during the early days of Canada. The Keg mansion is certainly the best Toronto location of this chain of North American restaurants. The gothic heritage building was built in 1868, during a period of great wealth in Toronto.
