The POW Complex is huge, so there are a lot of features that you wouldn't find at other places (pools, tennis courts). It's cheap but well managed and taken care of. Office staff is friendly and really helpful.
The POW Complex is a good place to live for Carleton students. It's safe (around the clock security) and located pretty close to campus. It's apartment living, but beats places without onsite laundry & management. It was clean and I had awesome neighbours, so I enjoyed living there. Rent was cheap compared to a lot of other places I looked for. Again, apartment living - but a good choice at that.
The buildings are pretty old and they don't have any accessibility doors or ramps. The balconies are just naked concrete, which may seem appealing to some, but I feel it needs a layer of paint. They are usually quick with their work orders but the wait list for basement parking is insane. And not only that, it's $65 for basement and $55 outside which in itself is a bit expensive. If you love the smell of marijuana constantly being in your apartment due to weed smokers in the stairwells or gangs of young men smoking/drinking booze in your hallways and stairwells then hey this is the place for you.
