Step into a Scandanavian den filled with teak furniture and jazzy tunes. Is there such a thing as cozy modernist décor? Here there is. Slide up to the bar for a libation that might have you grabbing the sax or swing dancing—if only there was room. The menu asks “Savory or sweet?” And you answer “Why both, of course. Arancini, scallop carpaccio and lychee granita, if you please.”

Pop! Bar a Vin – honey’d pizza is insanely delicious
Extremely very insanely delicious. Worth eveything penny. Highly recommend the marrakech pizza (goat cheese, olives, mint, honey never tasted so good) and the Choco mousse orange dessert with the recommended wine. So so good. Definitely will go back!!!
Not really sure if I liked Pop or not. The place itself is very cool - I'd definitely go back just to have a drink, but the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered tempura shrimp - when it came out it was more like an order of shrimp from La Cage aux Sports. Definitely didn't expect popcorn shrimp. My partner had the duck tartare which was very nice. We shared pizza's - nothing to write home... more
Pour... more
We wanted an early dinner before going to the Centre Bell to see Don Juan. We took advantage of the early bird menu. We started with the soup which was very flavourful and had a wonderful texture. I think it was cream of asparagus. I had the chicken (too large a portion with two big breasts!) which was delicious, but could have fed two or three people! My husband had the salmon which was... more
Very mixed review. Here's why: this restaurant is unfortunately very unstable as far as quality of service goes. Food and wine list are excellent and thats really too bad compared to the extremely stuck up attitude of some of the waiters. Had one very good experience and two days ago went back after a couple months i honestly could NOT BELEIVE IT WAS THE SAME PLACE. service was beyond horrible:... more
A wonderful wine list with several organic choices, live jazz, comfy mod décor in shades of orange, green and brown that recalls the late 60s — what more could you ask from a wine bar? Well, Pop! Also has some cute but tasty "Poptails" and even offers olive oil tastings. Patrice Demers, formerly with the much-lauded Laloux, is the chef, which elevates the place to dining-destination status. The... more
