Poor Service

I visited Ming Court on the recommendation from a local concierge for great northern Chinese cuisine, Unfortunately that recommendation was made with poor judgement. Ming Court is conveniently located in downtown, close to all the commercial areas so I would expect it to be of a higher calibre. The settings are average but clean, the decor is spartan and the layout is far from intimate. This is not a higher class restaurant but my expectations on service and food quality was high. The service was extremely slow despite the restaurant only being half full. Clearly they did not have enough staff to attend to all the patrons. The menu didn't have anything out of the ordinary so I ordered things that absolutely no one can get wrong, as to see if their chef can conjure up a twist to regular fare. My dinner was so poorly done I am certain I have had better in shopping mall food courts with less hassle. The house specials were adorned with what appeared to be stale garnishes to add excitement to the dish, and everything else was incredibly bland. Overall this was not the best dining experience. I would avoid Ming Court as there are plenty of other Chinese restaurants in downtown Winnipeg that offer much greater service and far more exciting courses.
