We visited Copa Cafe with some friends for a late Saturday lunch. Copa Cafe seems to have a loyal following as their lunch and dinner hours are usually quite busy. We wanted to see why they were always so busy so we tried several items on their menu. The house special chow mein was horrible, the noodles were soggy and the seafood tasted stale. Their ginger beef was borderline burnt and the sauce tasted nothing like what it should. The bourboun lemon chicken was artificially sweet and the chicken overcooked. Overall the food was horrid, and the service was almost as bad. There was a communication barrier so I didn't feel confident that our complaints would be taken seriously. After hastily paying our bill without a tip and leaving our unfinished portions at the table, we decided never to return to Copa Cafe.
We usually eat here when visiting one plant in Portcoqitlam. The service is very fast, they are not the most servicing and caring servers, but the Chinese food is good. The flat noodles with beef are the best ones.
Also the teas
Copa Cafe is a Hong Kong Style cafe providing a fusion of Chinese and Western cuisine. Favorites include their Russian Borsche soup which is probably one of the best in the Lower Mainland. Have dined there for breakfast, lunch and dinner I can say that their food quality is consistent and service always pleasant and quick.
