From OpenTable: An"unpretentious fling with fine dining"Leave your day at the door & enjoy the essentials - food, service, & great music. An exceptional cocktail list, Belgian beer, fine dining without the formalities. The food is exceptional, with a commitment to fresh seasonal produce, Belgian themed with North African influence. I was truly impressed with the originality and quality of the drinks, food and ambiance. The fish carpaccio, the lamb with figs and honey and the fine cocktails were all amazing. An unforgettable experience.

I've been to Chambar quite a few times, great place to bring a date or a special someone. The atmosphere is beautiful and the decor is classic chic. The wine menu has a vast selection of great international and local wines. I prefer the beer menu as Stella is by far my favourite beer. The servers can easily recommend a wine to match your entre of choice. At first their dinner menu may seem limited, but know that absolutely everything on their menu is fantastic. I've never been disappointed with their food or dissatisfied with their service. From start to finish this restaurant has it right. Great drinks, wonderful decor, experienced staff and most of all superb food.

This perpetually buzzing room, dressed to play in handsome brick and warm woods, is just the spot for a pre or post-event nosh—its proximity to BC Place and Rogers Arena, and its excellent bar program of Belgian beers and inventive cocktails from Wendy McGuinness make it a no-brainer for a lively night out. But the food, Belgian by way of North Africa, is serious, and seriously good. Go for the... more
Belgium. How such a small country, with a hat tip to the French, ended up being top quality producers of some of my favorite consumables is honestly beyond me. Chocolate. Waffles. Mussels and fries (moule frite). Beer. These are not just good offerings. These fall well within the realm of comfort food for me. Of course, Belgium food is much more than frites, chocolate, and waffles. With access... more
Super-trendy noshing ground lights up the dodgy Gastown area. Room fills up quickly with eye candy of twenty-something modelish girls grasping the famous Blue Fig. Film-school alumni boys often follow. Crimson hued, subdued lighting adds salaciousness to sharing the tomato-curry covered moules frites. The tajine d’aziz a l’agneau is more fashionable. Passionate for chocolate? Save room for the... more
Chambar Has Lost Its Charm. Live pretty much next door, go often, spending in the 4 digits each year. Lately though have been extremely disappointed, both with the service and the value. The ambience has changed also; slightly different crowd moving in. The last time in particular we had the most obstinate service from Rich H. Not sure if they are taking on just good looking temps, but the... more
