Enthusiasts find much to cheer at this "exceptional" Midtown Italian, from the "delicious", "authentic" dishes ("don't miss the pasta") to the "friendly" service; the "small, uninspiring room" doesn't match, and climbing prices mean it may no longer be the "bargain" it once was, but almost all agree it's still an "absolute favourite" "worth many visits."
Inviting in spirit and truly Italian in the kitchen, this pretty trattoria has been winning quiet accolades from fans for more than a decade. It's chef Andrew Milne-Allan's baby, and most nights, the chef is at the stove. Agnolotti and other fresh pastas made by the maestro are consistently great. There are meaty ragouts, poppy-seed sauces, plenty of delicate vegetables, and entrees that... more
Zucca distinguishes itself from many of the other Italian restaurants in Toronto by serving only homemade pasta. They also have a number of meat dishes and a good selection of salads.
Zucca offers a nice option on Monday and Tuesday nights of having one of their fresh pasta dishes with a green salad and dessert for a Prix Fixe price of 28$. This is a good deal. The prices are otherwise a bit high with pasta dishes ranges approx from 20-24$. Other dishes on the menu are also offered (meats and... more

Entryway leads to intimate tables surrounded by a whimsical mural. Interesting ingredients and well-thought-out combinations. Menu might include strozzapreti pasta with a seafood sauce, and a grilled New York steak finished in a green olive and cherry tomato sicilian sauce. Cornish hen or fish on the grill. Menus are seasonal and change often. Dinner daily. Smart casual. Entrées: $12-$28.
Nestled in an old Edwardian building at Yonge and Eglinton, Zucca opened in February 1996 — deriving its name from the Italian word for pumpkin. Zucca’s menu focuses on the regions of Italy, featuring dishes from Sicily, Umbria, Puglia, Tuscany and Sardinia. Items include fusilli alla liparota, bisteca di manzo, cecchi di castagne, and a mostly Italian wine list.
