Westdale Theatre: walk in the doors and into yesteryear. red velvet seats, old school popcorn machines, ticket booths on the outside like the old days, plaster ceilings, lots of leg room. You've got to check this place out. In an era of newer is better this one breaks the mold.
They've got a knack for choosing the best movies too. You're pretty much guaranteed to have a good movie playing.
I've been going here since 1991 and can remember my first visit. It is the quintissential movie experience.
If you're a youngster go here to experience what it might have felt like going to the movies in the "olden days". If you're older and wiser, recapture the glory of yesteryear at Westdale Theatre. I love this place.
The Westdale Theatre is truly a Hamilton Landmark. It really should have fallen by the wayside long ago since the introduction of the "megaplex" movie theatres, but yet it still holds on. The theatre brings in some excellent movies that aren't in the mainstream theatres for weeks afterwards, which makes it a favourite of mine. It really gives you the chance to see some film festival favourites in a quaint setting. Their prices are fair and the popcorn is the old style that we all know and love. Give it a try when you're looking for something special and different.
Westdale Theatre offers these services: cinema, movie theaters.
A landmark of Hamilton's west end, this single-screen movie house doesn't get the attention it deserves. Located in a small cluster of shops in Westdale, the theatre is surrounded by stores and cafes of Westdale, and is within walking distance of the McMaster campus.
