I love, love, love this place. It's good to get there early as you often have to line up, but they bring you treats while you wait, and they bring you samples inside as well. Food is FABULOUS! And "modern Indian."
"Consummate restaurateur" Vikram Vij presides over this "very popular" South Granville "destination" where the "enormously satisfying" Indian cooking exhibits an "unrivalled" "depth of flavours" and the "warm", "festive" atmosphere feels like a "private party", complete with "attentive" servers; on the downside, no reserving means inevitable "long waits", but fans insist it's "so worth it",... more
At Vancouver's most innovative Indian restaurant, genial proprietor Vikram Vij and his wife Meeru Dhalwala use local ingredients to create exciting takes on South Asian cuisine. Services are so slow and a lot of things I ordered are not served, wasabi is so disgusting, won't go this restaurant again.

Try the lamb popsicles! soooooooooooooooo good!
It's super awesome that naan and rice are brought out fresh! The servers notice you're running out, so they bring you more. Love that!

I love this restaurant. Wonderful concept. The food is amazing.Complementary chai is also a nice touch.
Very self-satisfied and complacent restaurant. Noisy and crowded. Westernized Indian-ish food, but not at all good Indian cuisine. No reservations, often long waits
innovative and beautiful food. an all time Vancouver favourite.
Indian, Where to Dine since 2005. Best Indian,
magazine since 1996. Vij’s superb, home-cooked Indian fare evolves at whim, with a menu that changes frequently. Regulars rave over the lamb “popsicles.” Wonderful vegetarian dishes, too. No reservations. $$-$$$. D (daily).
