“Vietnamese Cuisine”

Great little Vietnamese Restaurant in Laval...flavorful food and a nice relaxing. Atmosphere, worth the detour...and not too expensive. Most main dishes are between $10 to $15. Check it out

“Flavourful Dishes with Reasonable Prices”

Restaurant Charme Cochinchine
Charme Cochinchine is an amazing Vietnamese/Thai restaurant in Laval, Every dish we ordered was prepared beautifully and had so much flavour. Everything from the soup and spring rolls to the cari tofu and vegetables,...it was all so delicious. Very reasonably priced, spent about $50.00 for 4 Adults. This place is worth checking out.

“Palais des Cartes discriminates !!”

Palais Des Cartes Inc (Le)
I enjoy collecting cards, baseball, hockey as well as other sports... and I've been to several different card shops around town.

Palais des Cartes has to be the worst one, not because they don't have a good selection of cards, but simply because their big fat hairy owner is a jerk!!

When I requested to look at a particular card from his showcase, he refused to take out saying "I don't think guys like you can afford a card like that".

I continued looking at around and requested to have a closer look some other cards, again he said he didn't want to bother since he knew that I was pobably not able to pay for them!!

This p@!%!d me off, since he doesn't realize that he's not talking to a teeny-bopper but a 30 yr old professional who makes a fair amount of money.

I start to wonder if he's a racist and simply assumed that someone of my skin colour and ethnicity can never have enough money to purchase something so expensive.

“Decent Food--But Very Poor Service”

Pasta Tutti Giorni
We came to this restaurant in a group of 11 people. 9 Adults and 2 children (both 3 yrs old). The kids ordered simple spaghetti with tomato sauce and the adults all picked out various items on the menu from Eggplant, to lasagna, pizza and gnocchi. The adults were all served their dishes within in a reasonable delay, however the kids spaghetti was not served till well after all of the adults had finished eating. Both children by then were grumpy and were in no real mood to eat. Even after we had mentioned to the waiter a couple of times that the kids had not received their plates yet, it still took quite a while before they got served.

“Fun for Kids, no so fun for parents”

Jungle Adventure
Kids love roaming around in this place, lots of places to climb and jump around...but also lots of places where kids can get hurt.

There's not enough control on the number of people on the trampolines, kids keep bumping into each other on the overcrowded trampolines.

Jungle is well suited for the young kids 1yr to 6 yr olds, but older kids might find Funtropolis to be more entertaining as there is more rơom to run around at Funtropolis, The Jungle feels a bit claustrophobic when it's packed with little ones running around.

“New & Used Sports Equipment”

Play it again sports
Play it again has good staff of young employees that are both helpful and knowledgeable about the equipment that they sell.

The service is good and the prices are very reasonable, a great place to buy used sports equipment for parents that have kids whose skates need to be changed every year, or for used skis, and snowboards.

“Be Careful with H Gregoire”

Encan Direct H Gregoire
H Gregoire has been selling cars for a while now, and I know several people that have purchased vehicles from them.

However my experience was not so good.
I was interested in a car and had went to have it inspected, before deciding whether or not to purchase. My mechanic found some flaws with the car, which I requested H Gregroire to try to correct. Rather than taking care of the problem, they insisted that I purchase an extended guarantee on the car for an extra $1000.00 or so, then they would look at correcting the problem. They kept pushing this extended guarantee, and pretty much refused to do anything otherwise. In the end I told them that I was no longer interested in the car and I walked out.

“Tiny Restaurant”

Indian Beau Village
This little restaurant serves some really delicious Indian cuisine at affordable prices.

It's pretty much a "hole in the wall" when you compare to other restos, but you get some good quality dishes for a very reasonable price.

“Cambodian/Vietnamese Cuisine”

Restaurant Asie Moderne
A wonderful little restaurant in Ville-St-Laurent that doesn't offer much in terms of decor or fancy furniture but does have some really tasty and really inexpensive Cambodian / Vietnamese dishes.

“Fun at the Zoo”

A superb Zoo on the West Island...lots of fun for kids and parents..a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Have lunch in the picnic area outside of the EcoMuseum and then head in to take a walk through the Zoo and see some amazing creatures...

The EcoMuseum tends to have animals that make their natural habitats here in North America...you won't see any Gorillas, or Elephants, but you will find Bears and Moose, and Bald Eagles.

The staff at the EcoMuseum are very knowledgeable and always ready to answer any questions.

The EcoMuseum is also much more affordable than the Granby Zoo or the BioDome...and it's really not that far away.

“Incredible Selection of Chinese/Vietnamese/Asian Food”

Marche Hawai
Marche Hawai has such a huge selection of Asian foods, you don't ever need to go down to Chinatown to go shopping.

The store is just huge and has pretty much everything and anything you can think of for Asian cuisine. From fruits and vegetables to canned goods, frozen food to cooking utensils, they've got all the popular Asian products.

“Fresh Fruits and Veggies and a Great Price”

Sami Fruits Inc
I love shopping at Sami Fruits, they've got quite the variety of Fruits and Veggies and at a price that is so much lower than Loblaws, Maxi or IGA. I don't know how they manage to do it but they keep their prices very low. The only down side to Sami is that it is so popular that their parking lot is often so full that there are so many near accidents as people try to get in and out of the place.

“Honest Mechanics are hard to find.”

Napa Autopro
Chomedy Autopro is a small garage on Cartier Avenue in Chomedy. I've had my car serviced there a few times and I was quite happy with the service that I received. My car was repaired quickly and at a fair price. I always received a call from them explaining their diagnosis and confirming any repairs that they would consider performing. They also provided an accurate price so that I could decide easily as to whether or not I wanted to have the repair done. The price did not change when I went to pick up the car. A good honest mechanic is hard to find, these guys are both.

“Good Food, Great Price”

Pushap Sweets
Pushap is a really inexpensive Indian Restaurant...everything is vegetarian and quite tasty. For less than $10 a person, you can eat really well and get a good taste of the great dishes on the menu. The Bhatura, a fried flat bread is excellent.

The restaurant is small, and always busy, and crowded, but they manage to serve everyone in a fairly timely manner.

Definitely worth checking out.

“Used Car Shopping Made Fun”

Auto Pb Inc
I had fun shopping for a used car at Autos PB. What I was impressed about was the huge selection of different models all of them showcased in a huge indoor facility, makes it very convenient to look at cars even in the winter. Auto PB seems to put a fair amount of time, money and energy into making all of these used cars look like they've hardly been driven. Pretty much every car that I looked at was spotless inside and out. What's also great about Auto PB is that the salesman actually leave you alone to browse at your own pace, unlike most other places where the sales guy is on top of you as soon as you come in the door. There's no pressure and I came back several times to see different models that they had received over several weeks before I made my purchase.
I would still recommend getting your car inspected by an outside mechanic before purchasing, simply to be sure that what you're purchasing doesn't have any hidden surprises.
