The Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre provides heritage and cultural services to the residents of Timmins. It exists to preserve, present and promote the history, arts and culture of Timmins, Northeastern Ontario and Canada.
This is a small town museum which has relocated to a new building. The displays change on an almost monthly basis. There are also various sessions (crafts, etc.) offered for a pretty reasonable price. Some are events for children and others target adults.
The curator is particularly knowledgeable about the area, but all staff are quite polite and helpful.

I went there expecting to learn something about Timmins and its history, and probably about its raison d'etre, mining. Nothing at all! And nothing about its famous daughter Shania Twain. A nice clean well run place full of nothing. They had a temporary exhibition of Egyptian artifacts, but that is all. Very disappointing.
Excellent! They have local artist works displayed at all times. They bring in travelling exhibits which are good. They have unique gifts in their gift shop area.
