From the fisherman’s ship to the Granville Street strip – here, the seafood is as fresh as the crowd. So roll up your sleeves, tie on a bib, grab a mallet and dig in – The Fish Shack has arrived. jump off the plate, oysters worthy of slurping and the best fish n’ chips you’ve ever had.

great menu concept & friendly waiters!

You choose a plate of 3 tapas, according to the meat you want. Each of the 3 tapas has a middle eastern influence, an indian influence and a chinese influence. So you might order a trio of pork, and a trio of beef.

I love creative food like this and all of the dishes were delicious and interesting.

And even though the place was super trendy, the waitresses were really friendly and helpful!

We loved it!

This room could have been predictably pulled together (with its captive Granville Street crowd), but instead the Glowbal Group delivered a fresh spin on an old-school seafood joint serving oysters from both coasts, fresh-sheet fish that's blackened or grilled and served with jasmine rice and coleslaw, steamers of mussels and clams, and crispy-battered fish'n'chips. Full-size wooden pallets tile... more

Influenced by the exotic dining and decor found along the Silk Road, Sanafir creates an opulent and fun dining experience that doesn't cost a fortune. The first-floor dining room is loud and buzzily exciting, but parties can also drink and dine upstairs while reclining on pillows beneath sexy harem-style draperies. The tapas-style plates come in three of five possible Silk Road variations:... more

A soaring two-level showpiece with Arabian-flavoured decadence (the mezzanine is lined with lounge beds). While it attracts weekend partiers, Sanafir retains serious culinary cred. The menu globetrots around Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, and sharing is encouraged: select from a bevy of $6.95 tapas (crostini with braised shortrib, dates, and pequillo peppers is a sensuous collision of... more

This turned out to be not so much a treat as a it was a nothing really special. As a neighbourhood place, it is not bad for good fish but the wait staff did not know the kind of oysters and the was was all right but not great. Good concept but like all the Glowbal restaurants, it was very... more

great fried fish and cocktails

It is noisy or lively, depending on one's attitude. It is the sibling restaurant to an upscale seafood restaurant. The quality of the fish was high. It was reasonably priced and our waiter was great.

Consistently awful service and average food
August 15, 2014

Tonight was the 3 and final night at the Fish Shack, and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Nearly 1 hour for 3 prawn appy. Meal was luke warm, and the waiter lied to us about why it took so long.
First I should explain that we had a gift card for the restaurant, hence our... more

Owned by Glowbal Restaurant Group, Sanafir Restaurant & Lounge is completely smothered with a Middle-Eastern theme. This spot well-known for its fusion of North African, Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine will undoubtedly keep you asking for more.
