Well, if you want the full "theatre" experience then this is the preeminent place to dine before the show. It's not cheap, but the food is right up there with the best fine dining in the City. Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the experience since you will be paying plenty for it.
I was here on a night before an event, so we weren't rushed but weren't looking for a 4 hr evening. We told this to our server, but the service was slow all night with no apologies on their behalf.
the slow service killed my experience here. the server took probably 10 min to come to our table for the first time, just to take our drink order. we almost left, but he recovered and the rest was okay.
Seafood a little salty
Seemed a little faulty
Duck was great
I couldn't wait
Pineapple panna cotta was amazing
Everything was really great and I'd come back
Staff were receptive to feedback
Which we really appreciated.
Wine pairings - Bourgogne Blanc 2011 and Pinot Noir by the glass
From the moment I walked in I knew we would have a special anniversary night. I'm not sure why we waited so long to dine at Teatro but now I just can't stop thinking about the meal we enjoyed there.
First I really want to say that this place is gorgeous! It used to be an old bank and there are several architectural features remaining from days gone by, like the large pillars and archways above...

This review can't carry too much weight considering we were only there for 10 minutes, but we managed.
We got there for an early appetizer and the 4 of us were the only ones there. By early I mean like 2:30, so wasn't surprised to see the place empty. The server sat us, took our drink order and then we told her we were in a hurry for an appointment. We just wanted to have an appetizer and have...

Its a great restaurant that's gone through some growing pains, but is better than ever! They started us off with some amuse bouche (who does does this in calgary?!) and then we had a very good three course dinner- I highly recommend the rotisserie if you can, its melt in your mouth good. And the dessert was awesome, not overly sweet, but just enough to satisfy the sweet tooth. And mignardises... more
Elegant, contemporary Italian dining in the historic Dominion Bank building on Olympic Plaza features local organic produce and game. Extensive wine selection. Reservations recommended. Entrees: $$$$
The menu and daily specials at Teatro are created by one of the region's top chefs. The varied selections feature the best of the predictable and the unusual, including Risotto of Chanterelle, butternut squash and ruby chard. The Italian-inspired market cuisine is a favorite of the loyal downtown business lunch and pre-concert crowd. The decor still holds a hint of its roots; the building... more
