Extended warranties were a BIG MISTAKE!

Its been 3 yrs since we bought our appliances at TASCO. We took out 4 extended warranties for 4 yrs. The only one which we have used has been for our Blomberg dishwasher. The first major problem occurred in the first yr so it would have been covered anyway. TASCO Customer Service works like this. They tell you to call Elite Appliance to make a date for a service evaluation appt. Don't be in a hurry though because it will take at least a week and even though the problem has been described they come only to evaluate and then will make another appt after ordering parts. In our case this took another 3 weeks before they returned to do the part replacement.
Now we are having problems with the door closing. First the tension in the door stopped and the door fell open and will not close as the latch remains closed. I called for service only to be told that extended warranties do not cover anything dealing with the door! Nice to know beforehand. Also we never received any extended warranty info at the time of purchase.
