Discovery pass. I'd give this winery 5/5 for the wine but 2/5 in the food pairing we had during wine fest. Crostini should be toasted bread but because what was prepared was sitting for a few hours it was spongy toast with an ok topping except for the garlic hummus that gave it a "feet" note, yes what you walk on. If they didn't serve us any food this would be a 5/5 review.
Strewn Winery was the first stop on the Niagara Fun Tours Summer Wine Tour, and it was a perfect first stop!
The grounds are beautiful, and the tasting room is spacious and bright. We had a sizeable group (40 perhaps?) and didn't feel nearly as cramped here as we did at other wineries. Strewn was the best winery we visited in terms of being able to accommodate a large group.

Strewn winery has spacey tasting room, has cooking school and restaurant inside. Staffs are very friendly. Has various wines to taste, 2009 Merlot($16.95) was decent.
Had lunch in winery restaurant, service was great and nice. We had Salmon chowder, Cabernet beef ragout($19) and provencale pizza($17). They were all well prepared but I was bit disappointed. Maybe my expectation was too high.
This 'sense of place' is reflected in our wine and in the menus at the winery cooking school and onsite restaurant
