A Life Saver
My daughter was married June 26th, 2010. Just before the wedding she had alterations done on her and the bridesmaids dresses. They turned out great, done on time and fair price. What is truly more amazing is that the week before the wedding my daughter took her designer gown to a local drycleaner who said he specialized in wedding gowns. Short story - he destroyed the gown by washing it!!! It came back 3 inches shorter and a rag. The owner would not return her calls till Monday afternoon knowing the wedding was the following Saturday. At loss at what to do, she took the ruined gown to Simby's and through their kindness and expertise helped her locate 15 meters of the same silk and then they spent several late nights taking apart the ruined gown top make pattern pieces from which they sewed an identical gown. They also went with her to meet with the drycleaner and helped her get a settlement for the cost of labour and material. The gown was stunning. Like a mirror of the original gown. The asistance in time of need was outstanding. We could never thank them enough and highly recommend them.
Excellent alterations
You'll get excellent service at Simdy's. I had a bra altered here by Simdy herself. Very accommodating and met my needs without hesitation. She even went directly to the manufacturer to find the best-matching material needed. They are competitively priced too.
I strongly suggest using this family-run business. Very professional, friendly and efficient.

About 4 months ago I bought a jacket that I really liked. It wasn't the most expensive jacket in the world, perhaps about $150 but I liked it.
I liked it so much I said I would only use it for more dressy events. The problem is by the time I could use this jacket I lost about 20 lbs and it no longer fit.
So do I buy a new jacket or get it altered?

Simdy is amazing. She transformed my giant bridesmaid dress (a few sizes too big) into a perfectly fitting beautiful flattering garment that I will wear again and again. I always get my alterations done here and they always do a great job. I was especially impressed by Fred when he removed pleats from a pair of suit pants for a hundred bucks. Excellent workmanship and almost half the price of what another well known Vancouver tailor quoted me.
