worst hairstyling experience of my life‎

I can't speak for all the hairstylists at Sam's but I can speak for Sam himself. The guy has limited skills and absolutely no creativity. He must have peaked in 80's. He seems to do well with people who have short or straight hair but if you have anything else like thin or curly hair, he is completely incompetent.

My sister-in-law booked appointments for her bridal party here because she had been going to Sam's since she was a little girl. She has very straight hair and got a classic French Twist; which is easy enough for any semi competent hairdresser. I on the other hand have finer hair. I requested a style in one of the bridal magazines he had on hand; a natural look where the model had her hair curled and the bangs were pulled back in strands. He put curlers in my hair and made me sit under the hair dryer for 45 minutes. When he finally started working on my hair he proceeded to tease the hell out of my bangs and spray large amounts of hairspray. As he pulled my hair back it's obvious it was going to look nothing like the image I had shown him. I showed him the picture again and explained what wasn’t quite right. He simply argued with me. I kept pointing back to the picture at which point *he went to get his glasses* to get a better look!!! Then continued to argue with me; he literally said that he *can't work miracles* and that he *can't turn polyester into silk*. I told him that this arguing between us wasn't going to fix the problem, that my hair looked horrible, and pressed him for some alternatives. He gave me two options: either he would not finish my hair or that he could attempt an up-do by pulling all my hair back sans curls. I said fine, I'm in a wedding today, please make me look good. His second attempt wasn't much better. He pulled my hair back loosely; there is no way that this would have stood up to 12 hours. I looked as though I had a bowl on my head. The most infuriating part, he still made me pay for the worst hairstyle I've even been given. My other sister-in-law, who was also standing in the wedding, got her hair done as well. Her hair is thicker and curlier than mine. Hers didn’t turn out as bad but was far from acceptable. As he styled her and she attempted to explain to him what she wanted, which happened to be the same style as mine but completely up, he said *oh I know what you want, you want something that looks like you did it yourself*… not really she wanted something that looked like she got a professional to do it. We left the hair salon at 2 in the afternoon and had been there since 10 in the morning. It's a good thing that we had 2 girls decide to do their own hair; I have no idea how this guy though he was going do get through 6 of us! Thankfully some of my friends were in town and were able to fix these atrocities.

This story really doesn't do the situation justice; it was the worst hairstyling experience of my life. I was completely distressed and Sam didn't care one bit.
