Salad King has been proudly serving Ryerson and the downtown Toronto neighbourhood for the past 20 years. Our Thai food is delicious and affordable, made with quality, homemade ingredients.

Salad King is certainly NOT the best kept secret in town. Most Thai food lovers, especially the young and hip, all know about this HOT, HOT, Hot place, conveniently located, close to Yonge and Dundas, near the Eaton Centre!

How spicy can you handle?

If you need to prove you're a big man, they will make it as spicy as you desire. Be careful what you ask for though. If you find yourself gasping for your senses, you have only yourself to blame. Provided you manage to request your ideal balance, the food is delicious and as authentic as can be expected.

Some great Thai food on Yonge st. I also love the chili system of choosing how spicy you want your food, on a scale of 1 - 20!

"Be a little daring and go for extra spicy" at this casual Downtown "go-to" (and sib to Linda) where "delicious" Thai dishes at "incredibly inexpensive" prices mean it's often "packed" "with hungry university students"; service is "solid" (especially "considering the traffic"), so though it's "very noisy", it's a "favourite" for "cheap eats."

I've seen plenty of reviews, but took the chance to try it out for myself. A bit of a weird entrance (up a few flights of stairs) and into a very busy restaurant. But don't be put off, they have a great crew who will get you to a table quick. The menu is simple enough and it's easy to... more

I've been trying salad king before it burnt into the ground and also got destroyed last time when it was beside Ryerson. Overall, I'm not a fan of the food, I don't like this type of Asian food but I usually go here with friends who love the food. The spicy selections are everyone's favorite. AS far as the service... more

Salad King is a really popular place with a lot of menu options. Service is fast and friendly enough. Seating is individual tables and booths, which generally you have to wait for (wait time depends on the time you go, can be 5-20 mins in my experience), or common/shared large tables with benches (like in high school cafeterias) if you... more

Business Description from the Web

It was a secret known mostly to Ryerson university students, but the word has spread. Salad King’s tasty Thai menu never fails to pack the house day after day, whether it’s with the school crowd or with drop-in’s addicted to the cheap and flavourful fare. Salad King tempts fire-eaters by offering a choice of spice level –from mild to 20 chillies. Sure bets are the Thai fried rice, a selection... more

Around the corner from Ryerson University, Salad King Restaurant feeds the young and hungry for lunch and dinner. The cafeteria-style seating houses long stainless steel tables anchored by wooden benches in a space that reveals a cool Asian-fusion vibe. Healthy portions include popular dishes like the famous Phud Thai and Green Curry. Many of the mains feature a choice of chicken, beef or... more
