Went to this restaurant a few times in the summer of 2011 I sent in Ottawa. It's in a good location and has average food and service. If you go during a slow time, the service is pretty good but they don't handle crowds well. It's old and lives up to its name. Went here on a first date, with... more

I ordered the burger with mushrooms and swiss and if not for the condiments its a pretty blah burger. On the other hand the clubhouse was excellent. Fries were good. Both our glasses had lipstick on them which guaranteed free pop and free dessert !! :)

went with a friend for a quick bite...i ordered nachos...if you wanted beef or chicken it was an extra $4.95...so i ordered beef.
well....i got ripped off on the beef...they put a 1/4cups worth. The beef was so small that we could hardly see it on the plate...there was no guacamole...the cheese was hardly melted...it was tasty but not to... more

Bad service is alive and well

Turned up with a small group looking for a nice place for supper as advised by our Hotel......big mistake.....nobody wanted to greet us let alone seat us let alone give us a menu let alone.....actually let alone do anything.....servers were rude, abrasive and did not make for a fun tile, when food did arrive it was basically thrown at us... more

It was all good

I went there today with my coworkers to celebrate a Christmas Lunch. The restaurant is very nice, the decor and ambience was above average. Our server was friendly, smart, quick, but not intrusive. My spouse and I will never step foot into the Centertown Tavern ever again, and neither should you!! Why, well let me tell you! I use an electric wheelchair to get around and I also have a small service dog...this disgrace of an establishment and its sorry excuse for a manager denied us access, which btw is against the law! Avoid at all cost

This was by far the worst experience I've had in a restaurant, probably anywhere on the planet. Food was great, service was horrible

Sat in the Centretown Tavern section. The food was good, but the a bit overpriced drinks. The waitress was extremely slow, did't get menus until 30 minutes after we sat down, and once we order it took forever.

Great spot to eat, relax and people watch

Went here while there was a demo of cars and music. This was a great stop. The food is reasonably priced and the staff proficient but very busy.

Waiting Time was real long

Yesterdays was a great place years ago but other than good hot chocolate after winterfest there are many more interesting and gastronomically engaging places to try.

A very aptly named eatery. Everything about this restaurant smacks of 1982: the decor, the music (a good mix of '80's pop, to their credit), and - unfortunately - the food. Supremely satisfying

We were looking for something simple with lots of food options (and local beer). Good food here

We ate twice in this restaurant and felt happy with the quality of the food and service. A small criticism is the food was a bit bland, but that worked out well for a member of my family who is unable to eat anything spicy!

Great Diner and Rest Spot

Located smack dab on Sparks Street, it was a nice surprise and refuge from the weather on an overcast and cold Remembrance Day. Good food and location

On Sparks Street in the tourist area just south of the Parliament buildings. Food was average to good and the service was good. I'm sure the chicken in the mediterranean chicken dish was precooked as the food came out way too quickly to have been freshly cooked. Still it was pretty good.

Not too impressed. Looked promising from the outside, but seemed lacking a good atmosphere inside. Service was subpar. Waiter forget to make food adjustments as asked for. Would not good back.

Well, never going back to Centretown Tavern (attached to Yesterday's on Sparks). Asked them to modify their salad/wrap to be vegan-friendly and the server wouldn't even ask the kitchen, stating "they definitely won't do that..." They then informed me that they pre-mix parmesan into the bruschetta I ordered and couldn't make some without, so I ended up having a Greek salad sans feta. Surprised... more

Great place to take a kids team

We had 15 kids and 20 adults, waiting staff were very good and were able to keep the bills matched between kids and parents all though the kids were all at a seperate table. I had the lasagna, very tasty and a large portion

Not much else around

Given many of the restaurants we discovered in proximity to our hotel were closed, we discovered Yesterday's. It is a large restaurant, and was empty!

A good place to eat

First time in Ottawa, we were looking for a place to have dinner and we found this restaurant. The service was excellent and the quality of the food as well. The portions were very good, We ordered Fettuccine with Chicken, a Canadian Pizza and a Three Cheese pasta, It was delicious !!!!

Better than expected

Looks a bit tired from the outside but the food was good. My crispy chicken salad was fresh and tasty and my husbands pizza had a crispy base and a good amount of toppings. It's a popular lunch spot with downtown workers, no frills just good food.

Nothing special

The restaurant is split into two parts both served with the same menu. I prefer sitting in the Centretown Tavern section which was renovated a couple of years ago and is much fresher and more comfortable. There is also a sizeable patio section on Sparks Street during the warmer months.

Better than expected

From the outside this restaurant looks a little dated and rundown, but my daughter wanted a meal with French fries, so we went in with very limited expectations. I must admit we were pleasantly surprised by the food. Reasonable presentation and tasty.

Good food, drinks and first class service

Our waiter/staff member gave us first class service: reheated my coffee when I forgot about it, customised my meals to my taste (no mayo etc), suggested drinks that I didn't consider, even moved a table next to us so we could have more desk space for our meals.

Good place, good food

I took my clients to this restaurant the first week in August. The menu offered the typical family restaurant fare at reasonable enough pricing. I would recommend it to friends and customers alike.

Decent Place for Lunch

We were able to sit outdoors and enjoy the lovely weather while having lunch at Yesterdays. Our service was perfectly fine and the food was good.

Our opinion starts out on the wrong side as we are sat right beside the server station on the outside patio. Have been here a few times for lunch. Always good and the service is done right. Lunchtime is quite busy but the food always arrives in a timely fashion. It is a good value for the dollar

The fries were the best I've had in a while. Not overly salted or too crisp. My vegetarian wrap-which I added chicken to- was pretty tasty, though a bit onion-heavy. Have a jumbo-sized cocktail.

My wife and I made the mistake of entering this restaurant on the evening of Canada Day. We should have read the reviews here beforehand. We waited 45 minutes for our meals. Deffenetly will not come back. You only get ice if you order a soft drink, so the water is warm. There only side option is fries. My friend ordered the Penne pasta an they informed her 15 mins after she ordered that they ran out of the sauce so she asked for Alfredo an he came back and said that they are also out so she got stuck with a boring tomato soft.

2nd visit: This time we went with friends. They have a nice menu, good prices and pleasant service. Typical Deli atmosphere.

SLOW for an easy order

Winterlude or not, the inability of the kitchen to prepare nachos, french onion soup and a burger in under an hour is ghastly. Our waitstaff was apologetic and compensatory, but damn! I should have ordered a pizza from my hotel room. Yesterday's in Ottawa is to be avoided.
