We love sushi! Being on vacation at Shuswap Lake, someone recommended this place to us. The food is just amazing! One of the best sushi we ever had and the price is right.
I love their unique rolls and their great value. Our place to go for sushi in the Wack. The lobster roll is a must try as are their bento boxes.
I met my gf for lunch at this place my first time .Very nice , clean place! Great friendly service and food was awsome ! We had the salmon lunch box. So much food and delicious ! Price is right too , I def be back with more friends ! Arigato!!!!
I did a takeout order here for a business presentation... The staff were very friendly and accommodating but here are some problems...
- They put "spicy sauce" on top of everything... it really takes away from the delicate flavour of the rolls.
- The rolls are cut too thin... I know it's good to market "12 piece sushi for 5...

I didn't like it so much!Probably order something different next time. The Miso and the tea were great!
I have been dining at Woo Mai for 10 years and have eaten at nearly all the other Japanese places in town, (there are a few very new places i haven't' had yet) but Woo Mai really is the best! Nice atmosphere, clean, fast enough service and wonderful food. Little freebies are a nice touch. Best BC rolls, best spicy... more
Good food, nice people. They have a nice touch in giving you something "different" to try as a little mini-appy when you arrive. (free)
OMG, the spicy sauce is good there. I like everything spicy. Seriously you could put their spicy sauce on road kill and it would taste good! We often order take out for our office. When we have eaten there we have found two things out. One is they are friendly behind the counter. Two, they can be a bit slow... more
The quality of this restaurant has gone downhill here over the last year. This used to be THE place to go to for sushi. The chief James paid attention to quality and detail. Not sure what happened to this restaurant. My last meal was awful. The tempura had an aweful taste, which carried over into the sushi rolls we ordered.... more
I absolutely love the atmosphere here. The food is also amazing. One of the only Japanese places that actually uses white meat in their chicken teriyaki, opposed to the skin/fat covered chicken you normally get. The rolls are super messy and usually fall apart, but they still taste great.
Chilliwack does have several newer sushi restaurants that are of good quality, this is an older one but it's pretty decent. I am not a big raw fish eating type, but I do enjoy their rolls, and their bento boxes (both lunch and dinner) come with a lot of food for a good price. I'm never able to finish it.... more
this is the best sushi restaurant in Chilliwack.
we've never had bad sushi ever, James always says hello to you when you enter and goodbye when your leaving, sometimes the service is a bit slow, not always though.
You sit in your own cube for more privacy.
Bonus is that James usually sends you a sample sushi plate to try,...

Out of all the Japanese restaurants I've been to in the lower mainland (I have been to many) Woo Mai is still my favourite by far. Although I admit that at busy times the service can be less than stellar (you can see the frustration on the waitresses faces), the food more than makes up for it. James always goes above and beyond to make sure our food is great and we always end getting more... more
Very nice place James the owner is always pleasent and welcomes you every time you enter the resteraunt.the seafood is always fresh, and always seems to give you a little extra. Its been a very good and pleasent dining experiance every time I've been there.
Slow, rude, music sucks, terrible waitress. They need to change the owner then I may go back there for some sushi.
Terrible service, rude waitress speaks in Japanese behind our back (I know because I speak Japanese, but they didn't know that, so they thought they could insult us in Japanese).
