Just fantastic

Wonderful weekend

We recently celebrated our 10th anniversary at the Windsor Arms and the staff was friendly, helpful, accommodating and thoughtful. The room was beautiful, clean and well appointed. The spa was peaceful (delicious cookies) and I had an amazing facial. We loved being able to walk everywhere. It was a perfect choice even though we live in Toronto.

Everything was great. BUT, I checked my visa and they charged me twice for the room. I had prepaid on hotels.com, and the hotel then charged me again. They are fixing this, but, if I had not checked it out, it would have been pretty expensive to stay there. However, everyone makes mistakes and if they fix it, then it is ok.

Exquisite attention to detail. Outstanding service. Very European: small (compared to typical American hotels), beautiful architecture, outstanding location from which one can walk to superb shops and many sites, outstanding wine list, menu. Quaint charm in the heart of the city

All in all a very pleasant experience, and welcome change from the cookie-cutter hotel experience that I've become accustomed to. One drawback, from our room on the third floor, through our pillows, we could hear the incessant, rhythmic boom, boom, boom of the wedding DJ's electronic dance music coming from the banquet hall located on the main floor.

The Windsor Arms restaurant is now a steakhouse called 'Prime' which is where 'Club 22' used to be.

As you would expect, Prime has a mostly a meat and steaks menu.

We tried the certified, dry-aged Kobe beef - the chef is Stephen Ricci.

Went there on a Saturday evening with 2 friends, but it wasn't busy. Maybe the fact that it's located in a hotel. Found the U shaped sofa seating of a row of tables less convenient to move in. Was unpleasantly surprised that the sofa was full of of "bread crumbs" , and not properly cleaned. Had fresh and tasty West Coast oysters and a rib-eye steak, medium but with a firmer texture than my liking.
