Hotel wasn't very busy and we were put in the older section of the hotel. Very expensive for the size of the room and dated condition with a slight funky smell. If my work wasn't paying for the room I would have left for another hotel. Oh, and no desk to work on, just a little round table that barely... more
Booked into the super 8 in wetaskiwin as they had just done an upgrade. The lobby is something I would have expected in a big city. Beautiful design and very effective layout makes check in/out very painless. Staff were all very pleasant offering information of destinations within the community and surrounding areas. Room was very nice and very clean, quite... more
As of check-in (Nathen at front desk), I was already turned off! He seemed very rude and put-out that I was causing him to work. I had to ask about the pool, breakfast, etc. I was then given my room, just to find out that it was nowhere near what I had booked on-line with Wyndham rewards, I went back... more
The Super 8 in Wetaskiwin was disappointing. The web site of the rooms looked good but we were put in the older part of the hotel on the 2nd floor. The rooms were marked non-smoking but obviously were smoking as there was an ashtray in the room and you could smell smoke in the room. The fridge blocked the mirror... more
We had an excelent long time stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and supportive.
The rooms are fresh renovated (Southside) and the securety with the new fence is higher than
ever. Would stay here anytime.
Everyone, including the manager, was VERY helpful and mindful.
The breakfast room was well kept and our rooms were well done.
Yes, it's true I would normally choose any other hotel chain than a Super 8 given the choice. Not anymore. Our hockey team booked here for a tournament. I had read online about this hotel overbooking and quite frankly I was afraid because we were bringing 2 kids with us and really wanted a suite. We checked in at 6pm... more
For over 5 years I’ve stayed in various hotels monthly, across Alberta, for business. Fortunately, I’ve never had the experience that I had at this Super 8. This particular trip was for pleasure, a family trip for a hockey tournament. The short story, this hotel routinely utilizes the practice of overbooking their rooms and then seemingly fills the rooms on... more
We (me, husband and 3 kids 4 and under) really enjoyed our stay, we had the suite, it was very clean and comfortable. we needed an extra blanket and it was brought right away. We never got a chance to use the pool and water slide, but it looked like fun! The continental breakfast had bagels, toast, cinnabuns, muffins, cereal,... more
Room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, so much so that I woke up with red puffy eyes (and I used to smoke.. I'm not one of those ewwww smoke people)
Walls were so thin I could hear all the conversations all night by my neighbours. Uncomfortable beds and pillows.
Not an enjoyable stay. Price is much too high for a...

This hotel is under construction & the room should probly not have been opened until the hotel was completed when a number of the issues would have been resolved. I requested an iron 3 separate times in two days the 3rd request being to the manager which produced the said iron & an apology of a fruit tray, which was... more
I have stayed in hotels in many countries and in places where I haven't even spoken their languages. This by far was the worst of all of them. The "lady" was rude to myself and children. She yelled at my children and she belittled me. I was too tired to respond. I needed a room asap and had a funeral... more
Very poor services. Very poor services..room not cleaned, with clean fresh linen. I stayed for four days and it was horrible. Tried calling the front desk and no-one would pick up. Only offered and took of one day off the bill. It seemed they housekeeping staff issues and made customers feel guilty for their inability to have proper staff available.
It was under construction but the room itself was beautiful - everything top notch.
The surroundings not so great because of the construction. The clerk was very helpful and the breakfast adequate.
First, my gps brought us to a Super 8 not Fort Ethier Lodge, so I thought. Fort Ethier was being built and wasn't complete. I saw beautiful pictures online, so I knew what to expect. We went to the desk at the Super 8 and the young gal assured us that we could stay at Fort Ethier. We drove around... more
I stayed here for one night and was pleased with the room and the hotel in general. I found the grounds to be well kept. The staff were friendly and the price was reasonable. Very good restaurants, and lots of them within a mile, some you can walk to.
We were disappointed that it wasn't really wheelchair accessable and that our room key had to keep being reset. Other than that, our stay was enjoyable and the staff was great.
We pulled in to the Wetaskiwin Alberta Super 8 at 1:00 AM. The desk clerk took a very long time to check us in even though we were the only ones there. the she announced we were in the South building and she didn't know which door would work to get in.
We went outside to see an old motel...

The building is well kept except for a few minor. with the swimming pool and slide going it it will be a favorite for many.
I stayed in Wetaskiwin while working in the area. The Super 8 was an alright hotel. The room was updated, had a nice tv, mini fridge and microwave. Bed was comfortable and the room was super clean. The shower was terrible though. Slow to drain and was barely luke warm. Not a bad place overall.
