The hotel is well situated but a bit dated. the bathroomsin particular need a reno and the water pressure was pitiful.

Had a beautiful waterfront view with the docked cruise ships (2). Very relaxing.

Impressive: elegant hotel with excellent service

The staff were excellent, from the valet parking to the desk staff to the room service waiters. The room was comfortable except for the bathroom: I have limited mobility and the siting of the toilet made things awkward. However: I had not made an issue of that when the reservation was made. We were pleased with our experience at the Nova Scotian.

Poor check in

We had 4 rooms booked, as we did not all arrive together the first group was told that only one room was booked so they up graded to a large room, when the other party checked we inquired about our reservations and wer told differently, also was told to park at meter parking on street in front of hotel, next morning had a parking ticket on vehicle.

Old world charm and great location.

Luxury accommodations but no coffee mugs? I really like it when i can indulge in a cup of coffee in a real mug. I needed to stay here for 10 days and this is my big complaint. Great pool and walking distance to everything. A bit pricey and some add ons to be aware of. Internet should be included in rooms.

Great Hotel in the downtown of Halifax

We only stayed one night, but it was so comfortable and relaxing. The staff was A1 - very pleasant and engaging. We would definitely stay there again in a heart beat!

Convenient location

Mostly clean and pleasant. but the walls (at least in the new wing) are thin. My neighbors came in at 1:30 am and were talking loudly and I could hear everything. The staff were helpful in moving me to another room even though it was pretty full.

Lovely Stay.

We stayed in a nice, clean room. The decor is is modern and sparse, with a large flat screen TV. The price of the room was more than reasonable. All around a great experience and would recommend the Westin in Halifax.

Enjoyable experience at the Westin Nova Scotia . Firstly location is great. Great view of the ocean, and the cruise ships as they come in the Halifax port. nice place to stay, King room was a little smaller than antisipated. bathroom was small with outdated wall tiles. the real issue i had is the pool elevator. constantly hearing the noise. i guess our room was on the inside wall of the elevator shaft. very noisy.

I was quite taken by the grander of the hotel.A very historical piece of history.Nice staff and great beds. Perfect for Family of 4 in Halifax

The hotel was perfect for our needs. We had 2 adults and 2 kids and we booked the room with two queen sized beds. The pool and hot tub were perfect after a day of sight-seeing. The room was plenty big with a fabulous large flat screen TV. Very clean and comfortable.

Found it disappointing in terms of the size of the room, the lack of harbor view that I was promised when booking, the attempts on phone and in person to get me to upgrade my room for another $30. I would not stay there again.

We loved it!

solid hotel

Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. Although the location isn't. At the center of downtown, its proximity to the farmer's market, boradwalk, and Atlantic superstore is a plus. The property is not as modern as the other Westins, but it does the job just fine and meets all the stanadards. I am very happy I stayed here.

Tarrah checked me in and she was great, very friendly, personable, great customer service. we were there late in the evening until the next morning, but it was nice, clean, the staff was friendly, the restaurant was good, and we were very happy with our stay.

Shower did not drain well at all. The traffic congestion was not good at the entrance. Everything else was fine.

Nice view

I had a harbor view and it was gorgeous, I could see pier 21 from my hotel room. I was hesitant to stay here after I read the other reviews however was pleasantly surprised, the outside of the building from the rear looks dated but the actual room itself was clean. The rooms are a bit dated but it wasn't unreasonable.

Fantastic

This hotel was just wonderful! The bed was so cozy and the rooms were very clean. It is right on the harbour, next to a Superstore and liquor store, and plenty of restaurants in walking distance. Spent a night hee duirng the Halifax Comedy Festival on April 26. The staff was amazing and the oom was very clean and service was good. Spent time in Roys lounge where the people were friendly and service was excellent

We stayed at the Westin for a night in Feb and had a wonderful stay. The staff were amazing and on Sunday's they're check out is 3pm! We did not feel rushed to leave the hotel after a late night out. :) The "Heavenly Beds" were also amazing!!

Very average, nothing about this stay was exceptional. Food was terrible quality. Breakfast buffet was swimming in oil, even the omlette. No one goes above and beyond in the service area. I requested a taxi and was told to go stand outside and wait.

Nice weekend. Wi fi is free if you join their free loyalty program. Parking is not expensive for a major city. Valet parking is a couple of dollars more. Well worth it. This is an old building. Service was good. Temperature control was an issue. Had to keep the window open to keep the room temp less than 75. Room was very small, but functional and comfortable. Free wi-fi was reliable. Meeting room was spacious and the food was pretty good.

Classic hotel in excellent location

We recently spent 1 night in a basic room,not overlooking the ocean. Good prices but parking is expensive and not included at $18.00 per day.

My daughter is considering Dalhousie University. This was our first trip to Halifax - but won't be our last. This a very old but well maintained hotel on a par with Marriott. Marriott was sold out and I selected this. I'm not into old. I like new, polished and all of the latest... While everything has been updated it is still old with small rooms and a very small bathroom. While nice, I would not make this my first choice on a return visit. If you like old and updated. This hotel has a great ball room. I've attended some events and they went nice and smooth. The hallways were tidy and clean and the staff were friendly. I'd love to stay in one of the hotels some day.

I was so disappointed in this hotel. Our phone didn't work and was never fixed. When asked about internet we were assured it was available but didn't mention it cost 10$ a day. Good overall experience

Had the buffet breakfast and dinner both were very good. The staff were very helpful our dinner was a little slow coming so they brought us a plate of brochette on the house. The room was bright and clean the water pressure in the shower however was real bad. Overall we enjoyed the hotel and would stay there again.

Perfect for me

I found this hotel served my purpose of waiting for my cruise ship's departure. The room was quiet, clean and the beds were very comfortable. I wish I had known earlier about the transportation service into the middle of town. I had to "discover it," as well as, the free computer use service. The hotel could use a few more of those computers.

High quaility for a respectible price.

The location was very good within walking distance of major attractions of the city. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about places nearby to eat. Rooms were clean, beds were very comfortable. We could hear phone conversations from very loud people from one room and noisy children past midnight in the other room.

The Westin Nova Scotian is a short walk from downtown and quite close to Pier 21. The room was quite comfortable, albeit small, and the staff were quite accomdoating. Our onlty real complaint is that the pool and hot tub were quite dirty.

I can't say that I disliked anything abou this hotel. I found the men at the front door very helpful and pleasent, they were down to earth and friendly without having their hands out for money every time you turn around.
