Reasonable Chinese
September 22, 2013I live in the Kensington area and this is my go-to place for take-out Chinese. It has all the usual westernized Chinese dishes like lemon chicken, ginger beef, etc. and does a good job of them. I really like the barbeque pork. It's not an exceptional restaurant by any means but if you're craving Chinese this is a reasonable choice... more

Restuarant now closed
February 25, 2013The place is now closed for all the right reasons, it was awful food and service. I believe they have now moved to 10th Street since we were there also. The food is better there but service just as lousy as we waited almost an hour for our food

Do Not Purchase Any Deal Vouchers for this Restaurant

My husband and I went to Urban Rice for dinner tonight because we had purchased a DealFind voucher for "all you can eat...including dumplings, dim sum and beef ribs." It seemed like a great way to try a new restaurant. Unfortunately, it appears it was a falsely advertised deal as there was absolutely no dim sum and beef ribs.

Underwhelming
June 09, 2012Went to Urban Rice for dim sum on a weekday, arrived around 10:30 am. Place wasn't too overly busy, perhaps 3-4 tables but I did notice that the patrons were mostly senior citizens, and that they enjoyed one or two dim sum dishes but they mainly sat there enjoyed the free tea (could it be the cheap dim sum prices enticing them in ?)I also noticed that until 11 am, there is only one waitress... more

like it for the price
April 18, 2012went to have dinner last night because of their buy 2 dishes and get 1 for free.We order 6 dishes and the meal came to just over $50.00. The food were ok and the service was very good. However if we have to pay full price,the food would not worth the money as they were a little cheap on the ingredient.

September 22, 2011My family and I decided to try this place out for dim sum today, and I can tell you right off the bat - we're never going back! Between the 3 of us, we ordered 7 items and even though we weren't full, we weren't willing to order anything else. The quality is just... poor. May 09, 2011I went to urban rice because I bought coupon from treambuy. The first time I went there, I was told it's saturday and I can't allow to use coupon. The second time I went there, I was greeted by waitress to a seat. When I told them I want to use coupon, the owner refused it and said it's mother's day. Peking pork fantastic
April 14, 2011I've been hanging around China town for 20 years and I have to say this is the best restaurant to hit the neighbourhood in years.You MUST try the Peking Pork in mayonnaise sauce, its really a red sweet sauce (like a red candy apple) with very little mayonnaise drizzle in thin lines on top. April 04, 2011We went to this restaurant because I've bought a deal through Teambuy. It's a good way to try new restaurants. The dim sum was c@!%!y. Period. Didn't offer much variety either. Spring rolls was bland. Hakau (shrimp dumplings) was fishy and bland. The other dimsum that we order was just so-so. We also order chow mien, which was just edible. Never going back.
