Went for breakfast today and had a standard order of 2 eggs, toast, bacon, pan fried potatoes. Everything was excellent! They make their own bread, it was like holding a piece of air it was so light and tasty. Eggs and bacon cooked to the way I ordered them. Pan fries were dusted with herbs and were cooked just right.... more
Have been to this restaurant many times two years ago and was very good and sadly today it is just horrible. The Benny Sauce was bland watery, Potatoes were over spiced with stale flavored dry Herbs. When leaving to pay bill I stood at counter for a very long time while not even being acknowledged by the person behind the... more
Great service, and food. Our group of 6 adults and 2 children were all happy with what we had ordered. The menu had lots to choose from and the dinner specials were delicious.
Myself and a friend went for lunch and had an excellent meal at a very reasonable price. The service was great, catering to our wants and needs. As for the ambience it was like the TV show Diners, dives and drive ins. I would recommend that Guy Fieri try out this place. The fish is great.
Me and my kids went to this restaurant for breakfast. I wanted an omelet but it was not on the menu and they made one for me any ways. The food was amazing. The waitress we had was very friendly and helpful. She gave us a suggestion to go to Englishman fall before heading out of town. We went and... more
These people, start their halibut and chips specials, now, june till season ends for fresh halibut. their fish and chips are good to and they use real cod, but I like halibut myself, as I fished commercially for years and enjoy halibut. There is a lot of cod that isn't really cod as we know it here in British Columbia... more
My friend likes a big breakfast, you know the " Loggers Breakfast", well it's the biggest one i have seen anywhere around here!
If I tried top eat it I would burst, it's huge, and not that pricey.
Whenever our group the ROMEO's (Retired Old Men Eating Out) goes there we are always treated well, in fact the waitress usually...

I hadn't visited Trees since new ownership came in. What a lovely surprise!
I came with my 16 year old Son and 3 year old Daughter. Chicken Strips, Clubhouse Sandwich, Poutine, Italian Soda and Coffee were all very yummy. Portions big enough for anyone. The baking looked amazing!
The women's bathroom was spotlessly clean, and was equipped with a FULLY...

This restaurant is frequented by the locals so you know it's good. Fresh baked goods and prices are very reasonable. Wide range of items to choose from. Owner is friendly and service was good. I will go there again when travelling through to Coombs and the West Coast. Very nice alternative to the market restaurant. Easy access off and back... more
My wife and I were in Parksville visiting my mom. While there, she recommended Trees to us for breakfast.
When we walked in, we noticed that Trees was more than just a place for breakfast. It's also a bakery.
I would have to say that it's the best place on the island to grab something to eat, hands down!

Fresh bun, homemade beef patty, lots of lettuce.... Great burger. Also had the waffle with whipped cream and fruit, stacked with strawberry and banana pieces! Very good coffee too.
What a terrible experience eating here . Food was horrible and overpriced and service was better at the gas station across the street.
Went to enjoy a cup of tea and a muffin had an amazing homemade carrot and raisin bran.
All you could smell were fresh baked goods.
They also have a breakfast and lunch menu. The music was a little loud for me to read but the environment was comfortable and inviting
Overall I found this cafe to be the perfect...

Have eaten at trees on two occasions and had great sandwiches both times. Home cut fries are a nice touch and the owner is very engaging. will be back for a meal again 100%
Always loved stopping by for a coffee and a cinnamon bun. Best cinnamon buns!! Especially when they just come out of the oven! Sue and her staff have been a gem so far!
We were there for lunch, it was the first time I had the wrap not much flavour and the fries was n't cook well we told the waitress all she said is oh nothing was done about it was charge it for the full meal
Wonderful home cooked food, the chef grew up in isolated camps and bakes everything from scratch, uses all natural ingredients also makes her own gluten free breads, along with many
other home baked breads the cheese loaf and sourdough breads are totally delicious! The eggs benedict have real made from scratch hollandaise sauce and only free run organic eggs are...

I think I've found our new favorite "local" after a friend of mine recommended we try "Trees" . Have passed this place many times in the past, but never stopped. It's on the Port Alberni Hwy, not far from Coombs market (on your way towards Parksville) and apparently it has recently been taken over by new owners and is now... more
It's an unassuming cafe and can make you leary going in, but it's great food. The portions were huge and home made, down to the bread. The staff was attentive and the chef came out to check on the food. They brought my 6 year old a coloring book. A great experience, very good food!
...and had a delicious Rueben. My partner had a crisp and flavourful veggie burger and soup of the day and it was just a treat, it hit the spot. Our 5 companions also expressed satisfaction with their friendly service as well. Good place to come back to.
Found this spot totally by accident. So glad. After five days on the Island eating (and loving) seafood, this Alberta boy needed a bit of red meat. The basic burger here is fabulous. Hand ground and formed and cooked perfectly. And the fries!!! Partner had a Reuben on hand twisted rye bread. Says its the best sandwich ever with beautifully... more
We arrived four minutes after eleven, when breakfast was over, and were rudely told that we were too late. We got a bit lost trying to find this restaurant and it was our first time in this area. The owner could have been nice and suggested some alternative breakfast type food as a substitute, or anything pleasant and we would... more
I cant say enough about the food flavour and freshness ! Each meal is approx$9.95 and WOW the portions. What's really nice is everything is flavored but not sinking in salt & grease ! Thank you for a great Breakky !!!!!
Its a bakery and a restaurant. Service was friendly. Mainly bugers and sandwiches menu for lunch. Food was decent but not fabulous. I didnt see a children's menu - not sure if there was one - our son wasnt very hungry and a kids menu wasnt offered. The had lots of bread andpastries for sale.
Had a lovely brunch at Tree's diner. Fresh baked goods, home made fries and good quality soups. Absolutely worth a stop in despite the truck stop appearance
Trees was recommended to us when we stated that even though we love our life in Europe, one does miss many things that we consider "home". A "hearty" Canadian breakfast is one of those things. Trees did not disappoint. We had an omelet that was full of fresh vegetables and pancakes that came with real Maple Syrup. For those of... more
We tried this restaurant based on the reviews since the new owner bought the restaurant. We had a great meal and will be back for sure. All the food was fresh and well worth the drive from Nanaimo. Can't wait to try Tree's for lunch. Hats off to the new owner on a job well done.
As regular customers, ...every Saturday morning, at least, we enjoy great breakfasts. The fruit plate is all fresh product with more than the standard ingredients ...for example slices of papaya, star fruit, dragon fruit as well as fresh blueberries, strawberries, melons, pineapple and oranges, all served up with a side of thick Greek yogurt. Standard breakfast items come with great... more
The breads were great. Chipotle chicken sandwich was fantastic. Service was friendly and French fries were made of real potatoes. Deserts are to die for!
We've eaten here 3 times, always for breakfast. There's a reason we come back.
When you walk inside, unlike many area restaurants, this place is clean, bright, and fresh. The service has always been attentive and prompt. But the best part is the food.
A great breakfast and lunch menu. They make all their own breads for the meals; in...

We were coming back from Coombs heading towards Parksville. Just out for a drive, and came across Trees Diner, the food was superb. Real food; thick fresh baked bread, real turkey and bacon ( club house sandwich ) thick tomato slices. Plus there's lots of food on the plate. Slightly more expensive than the average restaurant, but sooo worth it.... more
We had heard great things about this place since it's reopening, so went for lunch a couple of weeks ago. All their food is homemade, including their fresh-baked bread in their burgers and sandwiches. I had a Reuben sandwich with the soup of the day, which came steaming hot and was definitely from scratch. My wife had the BLT -... more
I previously gave Tree's Diner a bad review based on my experience dining there but have now gone back to try it out under it's new ownership. I COMPLETELY revoke my previous bad review and want to let the new owner know that we WILL be back and we WILL bring our friends. The Tex Mex scramble was delicious (spicy... more

We met friends from Nanaimo for a Sunday lunch and decided on Trees restaurant on the Port Alberni Highway just outside of Parksville. This is certainly a place that locals frequent. The service was very friendly and very accommodating. The food was excellent and the portions were plentiful. From Beef dip to a hot Turkey sandwich or a BLT, everything... more
If there is a restaraunt to try in Parksville this is it!!
The new owner is the baker from Coombs market and she has amazing food and bakery items at reasonable prices with a wonderful atmosphere.
Don't pass this one by!!
Any negative reviews on this site are from the old owners who went out of business.
As my title suggests this was probably the best burger I have ever had. The older reviews on this site are when the previous owner was there. Try it...you won't be disappointed! Bakery now too....mmmmmm!!!
Wouldn't go back. Too many places around for good food to waste your time here. The service was friendly but the food was out of the freezer and plastic.
Went to try the halibut cause i had heard that it was awesome, but unfortunately they were all out. After looking over the menu i settled for a hunters veal which was the special and my mother who i was taking out had the porkchop dinner. Both dinners included soup or salad to start. I had salad and my mom... more
Awesome family restaurant !!! Very friendly & food is very good , amazing homemade buns & enjoyed the atmosphere ... Very welcoming
I went in today with my kids for brunch because we were looking for something on the more "homecooked" side. First thing I noticed was that there was one waiteress working the whole restaurant which was filling up quickly. After waiting longer than normal to order I asked what was in the omelette on special and ordered it. When it... more
I have been here twice and both times were dissapointing. I like a greasy spoon diner as well as the next person, but the tables and utensils should still be clean! halibut excellent in its own batter plsu roastbeef night with milehigh yorkshires plus turnovers and cinninamon buns were meant for 2 people very nice staff and great food
We are a diamond in the rough. We have an inhouse bakery where goodies are placed out fresh throughout the day. Better come early if you are looking for a cinnamon bun (they never last).
We have a large breakfast menu and a great variety for lunch. There is no set menu for dinner as we make different chef specials nightly.
Come in and enjoy the great foods!
