I don't mean to be insulting, but Indian food is in Canada does not meet the same standard as the UK. Having said that, the Touch of India is pretty good, even though they were a bit reticent to serve us at just gone 9pm on a Saturday.
I have visited this restaurant before and it has maintained its standard...

Friendly and helpful staff : There was no table available when we arrived, but shortly after we left, the owner came out of the restaurant to tell us from across the street that there was now one.
The food was good too, but the fact that the owner kept being just as friendly through the whole evening really made the...

Salut!
I've been to this restaurant several times and the food is excellent. The menu is varied and the prices are extremely reasonable and they a good selection of vegetarian dishes.
I'd suggest calling ahead to reserve or double check the hours. They close between lunch and dinner for about two hours. 905-988-1155 touchofindia.ca
Me and my friend ordered a 2 curries for medium spicy. Both the curries were bland-no taste, no spice. We did not complain and just continued eating thinking that's how they serve it. Mid way our meal, the owner stops by our table and recommends that he will make it a bit more spicy when we told him that it... more
Every time we're in St. Catharines, we make a run for Touch of India! It is the best Indian food in Southwestern Ontario and the price is so reasonable! Dinner for three people with alcoholic drinks was under $80!
We've never ordered a bad dish, so I can't recommend anything in particular - I think it's all great! Definitely start...

Meal for two was enjoyable and the staff friendly. Restaurant dated but kept very clean. A nice change from the average chain restaurant. Will definitely make the trip out there again.
Service is great - very friendly. The food we had was enjoyable. Would definitely go back again.
Our bill for two including two beers was $58 but we had a lot of food. Although it was a 'couple dinner' we weren't looking for a romantic atmosphere because this restaurant is comfortable but not romantic.
The Touch of India is a small but very pleasent restaurant in downtown St Catherines. Even by English standards (the true home of excellent curry) the meal was good and at $110 for four of us, including drinks, not expensive. Staff are friendle and welcoming and the service was excellent.
Mains: Chicken Pasanda, Beef Bhona and Methi Gosht - all...

We have had many lovely dishes at Touch of India and always have had amazing service. They will treat you like royalty. Thank you.
I tried a Touch of India yesterday, and to be fair, I only ordered food for takeout. My husband and I were both craving butter chicken, so we ordered two orders of that and 3 pieces of nan bread. My husband was shocked when he was charged $35 for the meal. There was nothing else to the meal. Just the... more
Our family was vacationing in Niagara but didn't want a touristy supper, so found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and took a chance and drove 15 minutes. We're very happy we did. The restaurant was nice, clean, with good atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful. The dishes were fairly generous and yummy! We ordered butter chicken, beef korma (yummy!),... more
The taste of food from Touch of India gives me the best taste in my mouth I have ever had in my life. I am not lying... I would order my last meal from this restaurant. Lunch special for two, under $19. And phenomenal. I have had the beef curry as well and it is also amazing. This place has... more
The onion bhaji was excellent, but all I could taste in my paneer dish was salt. Perhaps I just ordered the wrong thing.
Fantastic service, reasonable prices, and delicious food. We were seated promptly and received our drink orders quickly. The place was small, but had nice ambiance and was clean.
My date and I decided to share the vegetarian combination for two. The papadum came quickly. It was fine, I have just never been crazy about papadum (a crispy, peppery bread wafer)....

The beef curry despite requests to make spicy was VERY tame and lacking in the rich flavors characteristic of Indian dishes. Similarly the butter chicken was lackluster, missing its traditionally rich flavors, void of any heat, and bordering on sweet. As a Southeast Asian who grew up on Indian food and around Indian restaurants I was quite disappointed with Touch of India.
We were hungry and driving through St. Catharines so we stopped in for the Sunday buffet at Touch of India. It was us and one other table when we arrived but I guess this could be normal since it was an hour before they closed for the day. The wait staff was nice and the buffet had a good selection of items (1 soup, 2-3 salads, 6 meat entrees,2-3 vegetarian entrees, 2 types of rice, and bread)... more
Surprised at all the good reviews this restaurant had! It was empty when me and a huge group came for a birthday. Service was so so. Servers were lazy and told us they couldnt split our appetizer in separate bills. My group mostly ordered butter chicken and it was way way to sweet! Not a great flavour. I came with real Indians and they hated the flavour!! Definitely not some place our group... more
I love the food every time. Have had most of the menu. This time, I was buying a gift certificate. It was around 8pm. I had been running around and hadn't eaten. The owner offered me a samosa to get me through (on the house). This was such a beautiful gesture from a beautiful man. Thank you for the kindness... more
I've had many meals here and have enjoyed nearly the entire menu! Meals are served in a traditional Indian style with great sauces and delicious spices. Chicken Korma is a staple when I order as well I enjoy the heat if vindaloo. The owner has a great hot sauce receipe and must be tryed. The place desperatly needs updating as... more
Amazing! We ate like kings. Great music & excellent service.
I really like it here. Often go with my sister. GREAT service and excellent fresh food. Great flavor in the food and that's what Indian food is about.
Ordered Kadhai Paneer and it was not Kadhai Paneer at all.
Oversized tomato and capsicum pieces with carelessly diced Paneer dipped in yellow gravy that lacked flavor and spice.
The chef is Bengali and obviously doesnt know much about cooking North Indian dishes. Ordered a Chicken Biryani and it was average too.
The other restaurant down the street, Bansaree is...

My wife and I took advantage of unseasonably warm weather over the weekend by visiting the St. Catharines and Niagara-on-the-Lake area. We were in the mood for Indian food so based on the reviews here on Trip Advisor, we picked this restaurant. I am so glad we did! While many others in the area were celebrating St. Patrick's day, we... more
Very good, service is good. When you walk in there is an amazing aroma coming from the kitchen.
This is hands down the best Indian restaurant I have ever been too and I have been to over fifty in Ontario!! The service is great, food can take a while but it is well worth it.. If you have not tried this place make sure you do!! Been going here for 15 years and never had a bad meal or bad experience!!
Went with another couple last night...it was very cold outside, but very warm inside. The decor is a little out of date, but the restaurant is clean and tidy. The wait staff was polite, clean, and traditional. To start we had Indian Wafers, and the Mulligatawny Soup. Then we all decided to have the dinner special: Chicken Tandoori, Sheek Kabob,... more
Tried Touch of India for the first time last week. I was quite impressed. The staff was really friendly and unobtrusive and the food was delicious and fresh. I grabbed a takeout menu and will be making use of it for sure.
Whenever we are struggling to decide on where to go for a casual, tasty meal we wind up here. Of course it helps to be a fan of Indian food which we are. Someone mentioned the decor, but really, we're here for the food. We have eaten at Touch of India numerous times and have always enjoyed not only the... more

Went to Touch of India with a friend and really, really enjoyed the food. We ordered an assortment of dishes and none were a disappointment. The Naan was amazing--finally! They must have a clay oven. Our young waiter was extremely courteous and didn't hesitate to offer his counsel. A great experience--I will definitely return, maybe with a larger group since it's set up well for larger groups.
I can't say anything about the service or atmosphere because I have only had take out. But what I can say is what I have taken out has been very tasty. Bhajis are great. Chicken Tika Masala was excellent . Overall I enjoyed it and would recommend the food. Been back twice !
While it is a little dated in decor and usually very quite, the food is by far some of the best Indian food I've had. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, and the quality shows in the taste of true home made Indian cuisine. While the food does take longer than some restaurants, it's really worth it.
The food here is nothing short of amazing. I had tried various Indian restaurants beforehand and they were ok. But once I ate here, I could not help but to fall in love with Indian food. The Tandoori chicken is phenomenal.
The decor is rather tacky, but almost to the point of being enjoyable. It's all movie posters of old...

I like the food, the service is fine, but everyone is sitting around in this eerily quiet room, you want to whisper so that everyone else doesn't hear your conversation! Get some nice loud indian style music to set the mood and make the place more fun! Right now it's like a morgue.
