Good Indian for Canada

I don't mean to be insulting, but Indian food is in Canada does not meet the same standard as the UK. Having said that, the Touch of India is pretty good, even though they were a bit reticent to serve us at just gone 9pm on a Saturday.

Friendly and helpful staff : There was no table available when we arrived, but shortly after we left, the owner came out of the restaurant to tell us from across the street that there was now one.

Salut!
I've been to this restaurant several times and the food is excellent. The menu is varied and the prices are extremely reasonable and they a good selection of vegetarian dishes.
I'd suggest calling ahead to reserve or double check the hours. They close between lunch and dinner for about two hours. 905-988-1155 touchofindia.ca

WORST experience of my life!!! I almost died

Amazing food & service with a low price tag

Every time we're in St. Catharines, we make a run for Touch of India! It is the best Indian food in Southwestern Ontario and the price is so reasonable! Dinner for three people with alcoholic drinks was under $80!
We've never ordered a bad dish, so I can't recommend anything in particular - I think it's all great! Definitely start...

Service is great - very friendly. The food we had was enjoyable. Would definitely go back again.
Our bill for two including two beers was $58 but we had a lot of food. Although it was a 'couple dinner' we weren't looking for a romantic atmosphere because this restaurant is comfortable but not romantic.

The Touch of India is a small but very pleasent restaurant in downtown St Catherines. Even by English standards (the true home of excellent curry) the meal was good and at $110 for four of us, including drinks, not expensive. Staff are friendle and welcoming and the service was excellent.

Fantastic service, reasonable prices, and delicious food. We were seated promptly and received our drink orders quickly. The place was small, but had nice ambiance and was clean.
My date and I decided to share the vegetarian combination for two. The papadum came quickly. It was fine, I have just never been crazy about papadum (a crispy, peppery bread wafer)....

Not real Indian food
April 10, 2013The beef curry despite requests to make spicy was VERY tame and lacking in the rich flavors characteristic of Indian dishes. Similarly the butter chicken was lackluster, missing its traditionally rich flavors, void of any heat, and bordering on sweet. As a Southeast Asian who grew up on Indian food and around Indian restaurants I was quite disappointed with Touch of India.

Ordered Kadhai Paneer and it was not Kadhai Paneer at all.
Oversized tomato and capsicum pieces with carelessly diced Paneer dipped in yellow gravy that lacked flavor and spice.

Delicious & Great Service!
November 28, 2011Went to Touch of India with a friend and really, really enjoyed the food. We ordered an assortment of dishes and none were a disappointment. The Naan was amazing--finally! They must have a clay oven. Our young waiter was extremely courteous and didn't hesitate to offer his counsel. A great experience--I will definitely return, maybe with a larger group since it's set up well for larger groups.

September 21, 2011I can't say anything about the service or atmosphere because I have only had take out. But what I can say is what I have taken out has been very tasty. Bhajis are great. Chicken Tika Masala was excellent . Overall I enjoyed it and would recommend the food. Been back twice !

Best Indian food around anywhere
July 10, 2011While it is a little dated in decor and usually very quite, the food is by far some of the best Indian food I've had. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, and the quality shows in the taste of true home made Indian cuisine. While the food does take longer than some restaurants, it's really worth it.
