I had a great stay at the Westin in Calgary. When checking in, I was given the option of getting a room with a King bed instead of 2 double beds. Once I got to my room, the front desk had called me to check and make sure everything was ok. Everything was great except there was one small leak in the sealing. They had send a technician right away to fix it. Once it was fixed, they called again to... more
The room had a strong odour of sewer gas, smelt like dirty feet. The washroom was not equipped with an exhaust fan? The room was clean and nicely appointed, coffee, tea, all the toiletries were supplied.... Free wifi, free long distance calling in North America... The bed was very comfortable.
Staff and facilities were excellent, our bed and mattress were first class. We will be back. Thank you.
Check in very kind and welcoming, breakfast ok (not exceptional) but very efficient. Overall a pleasant stay.... more

As always, exceptional service and clean, comfortable room
My husband and I spent a night at the Westin in Calgary and loved it. The staff was helpful and friendly, our room was very clean and had a great view. Pool and sauna were a nice treat too! Will definitely stay here again.
Excellent service from staff. Great location. Very comfortable spacious room.
Staff was extremely nice, room was very clean, very comfortable, upgraded us to a junior suite from a regular room after learning that it was my birthday. The only downfall was that I couldn't control the room temperature. The heat was on the whole time so an engineer came in and unplugged it but it was still too hot. We ended up having to open the patio door to regulate the room temperature... more
This is a nice hotel with decent amenities and well located. A couple of decent restaurants are attached and price-wise it is affordable in an expensive market.
Got there late on a Monday night. Got a 2nd floor room and downtown it is just too noisy. Asked for a room change, got 12th floor (much better), but smaller room. OK. But the shower was some "rain tree" or similar, showerhead with only 1/2 glass closure. The other half is wide open with no closing sliding-glass anything. At first I thought I had a room deficient in construction, but it appears... more
Good business hotel close to office. Passage leads to the main downtown office district so you don't need to go outside, a real advantage when its -15 or below!
We chose the Westin primarily because there was a great deal being offered for the time period we required, but were not disappointed with our accommodations. We would return to this location with or without a deal. For our purpose, it was centrally located and a convenient home base for all of our shopping excursions. Our room was clean and nicely appointed. The staff was friendly and... more
I can't believe I even remembered our host name. Which was Sam. He upgraded us to a more quite suite. A beautiful clean room with an amazing view of the city. I would definitely stay there again when I go back to Calgary. It was close to great amenities.
Even though our stay was only one night but it certainly was very comfortable. The staff was helpful and pleasant.
Spent a couple nights here. It was clean and comfortable. Smallest bathroom if ever seen, which floods when you take a shower. Went to the Keg for dinner one night, good food, great service. Hotel is in a great downtown location.
The room was oaky, but the bathroom was like a broom closet. Way too small for two adults. Bedding was clean but very grey. Need new linens. No more Heavenly bed or pillows. Not as it used to be,,but not bad enough for me not to stay there again. I concerns were dealt with very well. Customer Service was excellent.
Good hotel minus the doors to the bathrooms don't completely close off it's either have the closest closed or the bathroom and the rooms are quite small. The tv's are also not very good but the bed is what keeps this hotel good. Pool was cold and awful, no hot tubs and the change rooms are creepy and 2 floors below the pool top.
Alles problemlos. Super Lage, nur ein kurzer Fußweg bis ins Zentrum. Chinatown ist nur eine Haltestelle entfernt. Perfekte Anbindung zum Flughafen. Für 3 CAD nimmt man den Bus 300.
Nice place, we'd stay here again, no problem. Staff was very friendly. It's a bit too far for most to walk to and from the Stampede but we never really had an issue getting a taxi.Beds were really comfy. In room coffee was surprisingly great.
Hotel was good. Bed is very comfortable. Location is pretty good. The staff were great, really, I couldn't have asked for more.We had one issue where my uncle found out they Pre-authorized credit card charges for an incremental $100 per day, for room for any changes you might incur during your stay. They did not actually submit the charges for payment but you'll see them as pending on your... more
ConvenientOne of my pet peeves is hearing the person in the room above me using the toilet. An uncomfortable waking moment rife with misinterpretation.
The location cannot be beat. It's a great hotel if you are staying in the main tower. The other tower needs a refresh as the rooms are big and clean but old. There are 2 restaurants attached to the hotel, The Keg (a steakhouse) and Ki which is Asian. Both are really good and give you options above the hotel... more
Big Westin property - lots of rooms (there's 2 towers), lots of amenities (indoor pool), but it needs a refresh - specifically the rooms. The bathrooms are also really really small.

If you have overnight business plans in Calgary this is a nice place to stay. Like most Westins, courteous staff is certainly present. The noise level was higher than I anticipated though while in the room. The doors have too much space at the bottom thus guests talking in the hallways cannot be muted. And, for some reason the toiletries... more
Beautiful room, nice n comfy. 2 weird things though.
a) the stand up shower did not have doors or a curtain - only a half glass that ran from floor to ceiling. This left the back of the shower open and water routinely escaped on to the bathroom floor. Mould will be a problem eventually.
b) There is a sliding...

I spent 4 days at the Westin Calgary in May and found the hotel was perfect for the business traveller. Short $38 cab ride from the Airport, excellent conference facilities, Keg was attached to the hotel for dinners and located in a nice area for walking around during free time. The hotel food was not fantastic but it was ok.
This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at the Westin. Once in December for one night, and just this past long weekend for 2 nights. Just finished teaching a dental course here and the Westin's staff was outstanding. Every way we turned, they were helping us. Front desk agent Sara T. is absolutely terrific. Everyone we met was very professional and friendly. Stayed 2rooms 4 nights. Quick and easy check in, I had my 7 month old grandson visit us in the hotel , the staff have him a gift bag as well as ensured we had everything we needed for him during the visit . I would highly recommend this hotel for out of town guests
We stayed here this weekend. Amazing staff....waiting to take vehicle, room service, front desk etc. Beds were comfortable, linen soft and plush. Cleanliness of the rooms was excellent and bed comfortable, so the essentials are well taken care of.
Downsides: poor value-for-money and the sound insulation of the rooms is pretty bad (don't get a room anywhere near the lifts).
This is a nice hotel… it's not great or awesome, just good like many other hotels in the same category… but 299 for a plain room plus parking is a bit much. Very busy hotel but then again all of them are in Calgary! It's a it pricier than most Westins but that's because of the city. Can't go wrong with the location especially in frigid Calgary! Tons of restaurants and coffee shops in the area makes it very convenient to grab something all hours of the day (well almost)
I was in Calgary for a 1 week trip and this location served the purpose well. They offered a deal where you can decline room service for a 5 dollar food card. While the program is marketed to Saving the Environment we all know it's about them saving a little money. Very nice Staff and great location for downtown. I'll be back.
Well the hotel was beautiful, but I had to pay $20 to park 6 blocks away and walk with no jacket (because I thought I'd be in the underground parking and just take the elevator up) and all my bags.. Then they charged me $10 for an in room movie that I did not watch or purchase !

I was really pleased with my last stay at the Westin. I got a good rate, but I wouldn't call it phenomenal like some other reviewers which makes me think I can do better next time! From the outside, it's not very impressive. Once you enter, though, it looks like a pretty fancy hotel. Yes, the prices seem exorbitant to those who are not used to paying $270+ per night in a city that isn't generally thought of as a tourist destination in April. But, considering that everyone around here charges about the same, I guess they can charge that much and still be at capacity.

I have stayed here many times over the years and through various refurbishments, the Lobby area, Service, and the rooms have really improved over an already high...

“This is an excellent hotel for both business and leisure in downtown Calgary. Helpful friendly staff, and located 3 blocks from the C-Train, and in the middle of most of the oil company office towers, it is very convenient. Very clean and comfortable!”
No refrigerator. No microwave. would be nice to have a printer also.
Stay here every time I'm in Calgary. Good location, nice rooms if you get the upgrade. Basic rooms are, well, basic.
I had a great experience here. They've got great local/sustainable food options in the bar/restaurant. The rooms are very nice. The breakfast is very good. I like the program that gives me 500 miles instead of having my room cleaned. And, I find the staff to be uncommonly friendly and helpful and intelligent.
I had a great stay here that motivated me to seek out other Westin's but...

“ The hotel was very nice, clean, friendly and comfortable beds. The bathroom was a little small. The air was very clean and liked their recirculation system. Overall very nice.
”
“ Very nice hotel, well worth the money we paid. As always Westins are nice properties. ”
We stayed one night during Stampede week and were pleasantly surprised that the staff was very friendly and efficient even though there was a lot of partying cowboys and girls. Nice comfortable bed. The Keg restaurant was really good too. I highly recommend the Westin.
I stayed there for 2 nights only but i would say, very good hotel & I'll highly recommend to others.
I need to be upfront with this review. I am a Starwood Preferred Guest and generally choose to stay in Westin and Sheraton Hotels in North America.
I also need to declare my interest and knowledge of the hotel industry. I have worked for a five star hotel group, and have developed five star quality hotels in Africa and Europe. I am therefore very tough on hotels when I experience bad service....

Wow - after a really awful week I canceled all of my future stays here and will now split my time between the Sheraton Suites and the Cavalier.
My inbound flight misconnected in Seattle, and I missed the last flight of the day to Calgary... Of course this was past the cancellation window, no worries - rules are rules, I'll pay for an empty room in Calgary and stay with friends in Seattle, at...

I will have to say that of all of the Westin's I have stayed at this one is pretty middle of the pack. There isn't a whole lot that is super flashy about the place and it actually reminds me more of a Sheraton than a Westin.
There are a couple of redeeming qualities. First of all it is in a great location. Not too far from much of anything and close to some nice outdoor cafes. As stated before...

Sorry to see their premier restaurant change from "Owl's Nest" to franchise steak house.Overall - staff, facilities, food excellent
I stayed in a room in the Business Tower for two nights over a weekend. The breakfast buffet (which you pay for) is at Essence and its terrific! Ahhh I loved the buffet so much. The staff were very kind and did everything they could to make my stay pleasant. I found the downtown area to be pretty dead in the daytime on the weekends.
The parking isn't included in the rate, but interestingly...

“A great location with very concientious staff, a modern foyer and a Keg Restaurant with very good food.”
“It was a wonderful hotel, very comfortable! Will be staying at the Westin next time I go anywhere!”
“The Westin is currently upgrading their oldest rooms. The main areas of the hotel are very attractive. The staff was very helpful.”
“Everybody was friendly except one of the concierge, she was always in a hurry and with a really bad attitude, everything else was perfect.”
Overall we were satisfied, but there were a lot of conferences going on during the weekend we were there, which equalled a ton of people. There wasn't anywhere to grab a late night snack or drink. The gift shop closed early and there was nothing in walking distance.
“Worse stay I have ever had at a Starwood Hotel. Room looked old, dirty, with mold in the tub. The lobby was cold, and had no appeal. General Manager should be embarrassed! This should not be a Westin Hotel.”
The Calgary Westin was exactly what I was looking for while visiting Clagary on business and pleasure. The service was outstanding, with everyone being so helpful. It is in walking distance of budget rental cars and the Stephens Mall area which features excellent dining and entertainment. The rooms are suuficient, bright, and very comfortable. I spent most of my time walking the downtown... more
“Loved our experience. My in-laws liked their room. Clean and really comfortable. The Westin litte extras; like free drinks and apples at reception also bottled water in rooms. Small details really helped making our stay enjoyable! The bed at the Westin is totally the best, I travel for business and sleep in hotels 2-3 nights a week, this hotel is really oriented to customer satisfaction! Thank... more
“It was very nice, well taken care of and maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful.”
“Very welcoming staff - clean and very comfortable beds - make sure you get a room with a full bath - very quiet.”
“The staff was very cooperative and the bus-boys were excellent. The level of cleanliness was good, truly good hospitality.”
“For the price I paid, this hotel was great - good location, great lobby, good coffee in room, nice bedding. Didn't like that it was tired and old looking.”
“They charge $20/day for parking even if you are a guest at the hotel. The pool was only 5'6" deep. They have a Westin kids club, but rarely have the activity packs according to the staff, and have to be reminded to send up the milk & cookies at night.”
“The hotel was great, easy parking, great staff. overall very nice location and hotel. I would definitely stay again.”
“Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere with a great pool and free boarding pass printing. The only reason I didn't give it a higher mark than I did was because #1 - the television didn't work, #2 - the fan in the bathroom didn't work, #3 - there wasn't any literature explaining check-out, the TV, or the pool. When I called down however, the staff was helpful and assistance was immediate. These... more
“It is certainly not a 4-star hotel. It is more like a 1-star. We have stayed in 2-star hotels that are much better than the Westin Inn in Calgary (the Marriot Fairfax Inns 2-star for example). The Calgary Westin Inn room was scuffed with dirt marks. The wallpaper was peeling, discolored and dirty. The bathroom did not appear clean and was worn out and had bits of hair here and there. “Great hotel, which has an outgoing staff, very comfortable and reasonably priced restaurant.”
“I was on the 6th floor, right directly across from the elevator. Could not only hear all the noise from the elevator but also from the street and I would say the room was the smallest they had. Next to perhaps a broom closet. Was not very impressed. Would likely not stay there again.”
“It was excellent. We stayed at the business section, so internet and long distance phone calls were free of charger. Excellent! The location is convenient, but parking is a bit expensive, but it's still well worth it. Highly recommend!”
“Great hotel for the price. Only problem was parking it cost a fortune, plus had to tip the valet every time we got the car in/out. The room was nice, bed was ok, did not have the heavenly feel. You could hear all noises outside. But it was a nice hotel I would stay there again.”
“Clean, modern style is very attractive, and staff was very polite!”
“I found the staff very helpful. The room was fine, lacking color but clean and tidy. The parking and access to downtown were perfect. The recommendations by the staff for restaurants turned out to be perfect.”
“Hotel was nice and in a great location. The staff was really nice and provided outstanding service. The parking is expensive.”
“From the moment we arrived until we checked out it was an excellent experience. Staff, bed, restaurant, room comfort. It was as good as it gets.”
“We loved the location, within walking distance of restaurants, awesome mall and there was a food fest going on 2 blocks away. The staff was very professional. The manager noticed I was searching for something. I asked if there was a vending machine for water and he apologized and said there wasn't. So instead, he went into his own office and gave me a few bottles. It's little touches like... more
“Loved it. Highly recommend it. Loved walking the pedways to the C-train and the Devonian gardens and the shopping centers.”
“Clean, quiet, comfortable, easy in and out. I love it.”
“Was incorrectly given the room on the smoking floor, which smelled stale. Then was moved to another floor which was to be an upgrade, but was still very plain. Service was fairly good but not great.”
“Great hotel, great location, great view however needs more selection on the 24 hour room service menu.”
“The Westin is a first class hotel. Staff is friendly and very efficient. The interior of the rooms is updated and the beds are wonderful.”
“This is a good hotel for a business traveler. It is an older hotel with small rooms and modest public areas. It is not in my opinion luxurious or deluxe and deserves 3*. It does have a good location in downtown and clean, comfortable rooms.”
“A good hotel but a 5 star hotel should have a working sauna.”
“Very comfortable and quiet rooms, very helpful and friendly staff, good (but not great) location close (a few blocks) to area shops, restaurants, etc., room service was good but breakfast buffet was not (but was unexpectedly included at no charge).”
“Was not aware there was a parking fee of $20 a day. This was the only negative thing about this hotel.”
“Overall, the location was awesome, we will recommend it to our friends & family.”
“I only stayed over night, so I really did not have a chance to take in all amenities. Rooms were spacious and clean, updated, well-appointed.”
“I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with my parents. We stayed in a standard 2 double bed room in the old tower. The room was small (no smaller however than the brand new Marriott Edmonton) with older architecture but has been kept in good shape. The beds are comfy and clean. I like it when I can keep the comforter/top cover on the bed rather than throw it on the floor for fear of unsanitary... more
“I always enjoy staying at the Westin. This was my 2nd time at the Westin in Calgary and both times I had a great friendly experience.”
“Some parts have been recently renovated, others still under construction. Some rooms in one section of the hotel are newer than the other section. Hotel staff are good and valet is fast but expensive. Good Location. Lots of rooms here.”
“Well located partially updated hotel. Rooms have been renovated but the baths are still old. Lobby is somewhat closed in. Staff was pleasant.”
I was recently in Calgary for a job interview and stayed at the Westin. The staff were excellent. There was everything I needed in my room for getting ready for the interview from grooming needs to computer access. The bed was so comfortable on the preferred guest floor with extra pillows and luscious linens. Breakfast in the room at the hour I wanted allowed me to get ready at a slow pace... more
The hotel was good although a little tired and dated. The service from front desk, to room service, to concierge was excellent. The restaurant, whilst also offering great service and wines, was lacking in quality of the meals especially given the price. Visitors would be advised to eat out. The location could not be faulted. Excellent fitness facilities. I would rate it as 3-3+ stars.
Along with a great room I also received a room upgrade and free breakfast. Aside from the hotel renovations going on this is a great place to stay in the best location in downtown Calgary.
Bed were great but I would have expected a nicer room for the price.
This will be a good hotel once construction is finished. For now, though, it's a pain. No where to sit and work, lobby is a total mess -- once it's finished, it should be a nice place to stay. Rooms are fine.
The Westin is a good business hotel situated centrally in Calgary downtown. Easy access to everything. The hotel was under renovation when we were there - and this reduced the quality of the stay somewhat. We had read that only the newly renovated towers were good, and the old traditional rooms weren't up to the mark. We actually found the tradtional rooms quite good. Service was excellent. ... more
