I have watched this space being created over this summer and although it took some time it is ready to go.

Our server was lovely, fun and interested in us and why we were there for the night.

Do not stay at this hotel. It may look appealing, but the staff is poorly trained and the service is terrible. My family and I booked a one bedroom suite and a two bedroom suite for the night. Upon checking in, we were only given keys to the one bedroom suite. The other suite had been given to another guest without our knowledge or consent. Instead of apologizing or acknowledging their... more
It was around midnight when I arrived at the hotel. As soon as I walked into the hotel lobby, a friendly young man greeted me and processed my check-in.I was given a "one bedroom apartment"
We stayed for eight nights with a six month and a five year old. The king suite has all the essential amenities for families with young children, a fridge, a microwave. However, the decoration and the furniture of the room were old style and very old. We were moved to a 18th floor room with nice view on our third night. The service provided by the staff was wonderful.
Location of hotel is very good to get everywhere in Vancouver. Full kitchen is wonderful when travelling with family. Bathrooms could use a bit of updating, but otherwise very nice place to stay.
One of the best hotels. Rooms were nice and clean with a beautiful view of the downtown. A little on the expensive side, but, worth it.
Our family of three (husband, son and myself) stayed for two nights at La Grande Residence at The Sutton Place Hotel during our vacation in BC. The hotel facilities are lovely though the restaurant was closed for renovation at the time of our trip (June 2014). While you could get room service or eat in the bar, I found the lack of a restaurant to be a bit of an inconvenience. We opted for... more
Hotel was perfect, in every way location, staff, safety as I was on my own but had no fears at all !I would absolutely recommend this Hotel 99%Only downfall Dining room was being renovated and Lounge was quite small.Free Wifi would have been a nice touch also in 2014 . There was however free Wifi everywhere I went.
A great hotel but why do they charge$15 per day for Internet. In 2weeks in Canada only this hotel charged
Spent a lot of time trying to find an outlet near the bed, ended up having to unplug a lamp from behind the headboard--area was full of dust. WiFi was an additional charge but obnoxious to use (could not connect my iPhone and laptop simultaneously).Pool and hot tub were nice. Bar had great service. Room service food was mediocre.
This was the second time I stayed at Sutton Place and I was not disappointed in the friendly staff and the elegant room. A pity the restaurant was being renovated as the alternative was not up to Sutton Place standard, but as there are so many great restaurants nearby it wasn't a problem. I look forward to another visit when the new restaurant opens.
Excellent knowledgeable concierge staff. Free upgrade on the room we booked and chocolate covered strawberries free of charge for our anniversary. Friendly excellent staff!
My husband and I were staying at the hotel yesterday and came in late and decided to get a drink so we went to Gerard's, it's a nice, older, upscale type of lounge. The woman server wasn't friendly but she was quick and efficient. We were surprised when we noticed that my husband martini seemed to only have 1/2 of a drink but he didn't want to mention it since he didn't care to stay too long... more

No question the Sutton Place hotel is comfortable. The staff are friendly and attentive. Stayed for one night after booking through Hotwire ($101). Got a great price and was completely happy with the accommodations. I must have received one of the renovated rooms because it was spectacular. Very comfortable bed and furnishings. Very clean. Right in the heart of the downtown area. Highly recommend.
Very comfortable Condominium style suite with living room, kitchen and separate bedroom. Well equipped and friendly staff.
Great long stay option. Near the fun Robson shopping street and a few blocks from the Skytrain light rail lines.
Free WiFi and morning paper.
I love this hotel. It's super clean, and the staff are incredible. The food is ok, but that's not the main reason I'm there anyhow. The drinks in the bar are quite good.
The best 2 things about this hotel are the smell, and the beds!
I booked a room last minute and didn't really know what to expect but was very happy with the hotel and the service we received.

The people who work here are without exception absolute solid gold. The location of the hotel is perfect. Stayed here with a 50% reduction with a secret purchase deal, so enjoyed a nice room at a reasonable price. But otherwise was pricey .., nothing was included. Not breakfast, not wifi etc. However is an excellent location for shopping and we enjoyed our stay
This is a good location if you want to walk around Vancouver shops. The accommodations feel dated and like most hotels, as you pay more you get less. So WiFi access is extra. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. I also loved the location of this hotel - right in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Would definitely recommend the Sutton Place!
Old money atmosphere with the lovely oak paneling and large leather chairs, but not overly pretentious. Comfortable place for a drink or a cup of tea. Not as expensive as one would expect of the Sutton Place Hotel.
Food and drink options were very good. I liked the old fashioned atmosphere of the lounge and the seating made for great ambiance for either socializing or having privacy. Bartender, Michael, was wonderful! Such a great attitude, very helpful with recommendations and didn't make basic drinks - he added a little flair and "love" to each drink.

The room wasn't anything spectacular. The location is great, but for the level of prestige the name carries I was dissapointed. The rooms have an old smell to them and are pretty dated. The bed was comfortable and had a decent view. Front desk check in staff all seemed nice but me and my husband got stuck with someone who woke up on the wrong side of the bed seemingly.
Chocolate buffet was super yummy, staff was excellent, left so full I could barely move! Recommend for sure.
Stayed here for a night after a ski vacation at Whistler, and the hotel was a perfect way to relax and unwind before flying home. The room was great and bed extremely comfortable. Also, the location was great for exploring downtown Vancouver. Would definitely return.
This is a well located boutique style hotel. The room was nice and clean but I would have expected a better quality mattress. I was not impressed with he 39 dollar parking fee. I was not impressed that the room did not have wifi and that when I checked out, they billed me 11.95 because I turned the tv music on.
The service was pleasant.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. We walked everywhere and had great meals everything was all within walking distance.
We just spent one night but enjoyed every minute of it. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the bed and pillows were heavenly, and the location was excellent. We'll definitely be back!
walkout to everything - great restaurant locations
Just what I was looking for. Great location, perfect for the holidays, We had a great family mini vacation.
Hotel was nice, but they only had a twin single room rather than the king we had requested. It bothers me that the premium hotels nickel and dime you for internet, etc., and the parking was expensive. The location is good, but I probably won't go back.
The hotel was clean, the executive suite was spacious ( good when traveling with kids) and the staff were very courteous and helpful. The decor is a little dated and "colonial" for my tastes but we got a good price for the 3 nights we stayed. The pool is in another building connected via the lobby, so it was a little awkward going through the lobby bathing suits and cover ups on. The charge of... more
We stayed at the sutton place before we left on a cruise from vancouver. It was a high class hotel with very curteous staff. We felt very welcomed. Staff was very helpful with fun things to do around town.
Very friendly reception staff, comfortable room, good in- room dining and convenient to everything.Would recommend to friends.
this is a lovely hotel, worthy of the 5 stars, close to many fine restaurants and easy walking distance to parks, shopping and waterfront. Easy access to bus tours that take you almost anywhere in Vancouver. We had a lovely stay here in July
The hotel is great for location. A short walk from the Canada Line and taxis waiting at the front door. The hotel is beautiful with a lounge, liquor store and restaurant. I would say it is more of a Victorian feel.
We received an upgrade to a much bigger room/suite which was wonderful. Lobby, bar, restaurant very nice and high end. The room itself though seemed to need a makeover. They had made an attempt to do some updating, but wasn't done well-the spaciousness and cleanliness were excellent though. The hotel is right in the middle of everything which made it very easy. They also helped us rent a car... more
Very luxurious, staff really helpfulgreat location
The hotel is nice and classy, and the location is great.
I believe all rooms have a view to the main street with giant windows which paints a very beautiful picture in your room.
BUT, the furniture in the room are old. I don't mind it as long as they are functional (like the chairs that are in good shape, or even the bed), but one of the drawers was totally broken and basically useless. In...

Had a two-room suite for my best friend's bachelor party weekend, the accommodations were fantastic, the service impeccable and everything was better than expected for the price. The gym was especially suprising, not huge but with an excellent assortment of high-end equipment, the heated pool was nice as well.Would definitely come back.
Great location, amazing staff. rooms feel a bit 'tired', but overall great experience. would definitely stay here again.
I had never stayed at this hotel before and was very pleased I picked them from the list of choices. I did have ongoing issues with the tv remote but they always sent someone quickly to resolve. They need to upgrade to flat screens.
Perfectly situated for shopping, the waterfront, and Granville Island. Internet access was expensive, more so if you have multiple devices. Unimpressed with getting no Prestige loyalty points for our 12 night booking. The staff were excellent, courteous, friendly, and efficient. Overall a very good place to stay.
This is more of a European boutique hotel rather than a trendy modern hotel, but the stay was still great. Super comfy bead and easy to get to most parts of the island.
Great bed and spacious room. Definitely a nice treat after 7 days at sea.
Sutton Place was beautiful, clean and in a great location right off Robson street. The concierge staff was excellent and recommended 2 great restaurants for us and helped us with excursions in a cost effective way. We got a great rate considering it's a 4 star hotel
A home away from home close to all the finest restaurants and designer retailers.
If this is what they classify as a 5 star hotel then I dread to find out what a 3 or 4 star is. Here are the cons:-staff forgot room request: I requested for a rollaway bed but it wasn't there when we got to our room so I had to call for one. My sister requested for our rooms to be next to each other but they put us in different floors-questionable cleanliness: We found our ice bucket dirty... more
As always, our stay in Vancouver was fabulous. This time at The Sutton Place La Grande Residence we had, basically, a one bedroom apartment with a patio for a great price.
Perfect location just next to Robson - absolutely easy to get around - room with very comfy bed - staff are helpful and friendly - only complaint is there is no free wifi / bottled water provided - but overall very good and much above expectation by North American standard
The room was comfortable but there were several things that proved less than welcoming. Reception was bureacratic rather than helpful when we had trouble finding the reservation confirmation. The hotel charges for wi if service. Unbelievable in this day and age and for this room rate. The surfaces of tables and counters in the room were covered with stuff for sale. The cost of parking was... more
Having stayed in a newly renovated suite at this hotel before, we had very high expectations. We were absolutely WOWed the first time, which is why we chose to stay here again. Unfortunately, this time we stayed in a suite that was in need of upgrading and wasn't as clean as we'd expect for a 5* hotel. I had to wipe down the inside of the fridge, as well as the cabinets, door handles, and... more
The room price should include WiFi. Most hotels include this in their rates, however, it costs a much as your home WiFi for the whole month in two days. Rooms are dated. West facing rooms never get any lower than 75 degrees. I had to request a fan as the hallway was cooler than the room. For the price, it's not worth it. There are a lot of other hotels in Couve that are a lot better and a lot... more
I stayed at the Sutton Place for business for two nights. I travel a great deal and I would say that this hotel delivered on par with other 4 star hotels, with the exception of the mechanical fitness of some of the items in the room and the hotel in general. The room was comfortable and spacious. The bed was outstanding as were the pillows. The climate control for the room worked perfectly and I... more
Great older hotel in an area with both food and shopping.
Had comfortable and relaxing stay in very good facilities. Good location to within other sites in Vancouver
Billed as a 5 star hotel, it is loveley etc,,, However a guide told us that the reason is that there are no microwaves, refrigerators etc.. just a very expensive mini-bar in the room. if that is the reason I'd choose a 4 star in the future but it was a lovely hotel.
Location of the hotel is great. Very convenient room for our seven days stay.
Hotel was very well decorated and made me feel at home. The beds were probably the most comfortable beds I had slept in on my trip and I loved the central location of the hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone!
The hotel is nice and fancy, but they charge for everything. You think you got a good deal for your money until you realize you have to pay 40$ a night for parking, internet is 10-15$ per day and there is no breakfast included. I don't think it's worth it unless you really only stay at fanvy hotels in which case it might not seem expensive. Or if you don't have a car and wakr up late.
Staff extremely arrogant and unfriendly, not even free WiFi in a standard rate (14$ a day!!!), very loud room/hotel (could hear everything on the floor and outside, even the neighbours)
Although pricey this hotel is a bit of luxury for a few days. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Slept really well after doing alot of walking during the day. So the bath was a welcome relief. Close to shops with a supermarket over the road if you wants snack or even a meal. Walking distance to Stanley Park and the port.
The hotel had everything we needed. The concierge service was great in assisting with public transportation, they could even change money in the hotel.
We loved our stay in this beautiful hotel. The staff were great and we were made to feel welcome. Our room was great, and we loved the view. The hotel restaurant had absolutely delicious food.
Had an amazing stay at the sutton place hotel! Awesome customer service, had an uncomfortable bed first nights stay so I called the front desk and they were nothing but accommodating, they offered us a feather mattress topper which did the job, they had someone come up and change it by then time i went to the pool and back. Amazing!!!
helpful staff, beautiful view, great location, very nice room with great bath products
The staff were courteous, and treated us with the utmost respect. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
We stayed 2 nights prior to a cruise and found the Sutton Place Hotel a great hotel. The room was well decorated and very clean!
I am a regular here, just like I am a regular to the adjoining side, Fleuri.
The decor is old school English with dark wood, and is dimly lit. I come here mainly for after work drink with friends, and sometimes dinner. For my AA buddies, we go elsewhere.
They offer a bar (food) menu as well as the Fleuri Restaurant menu.
I'm waiting to try the Scotch flights that they offer on Thursdays.

Gerrard's is not for everyone but here is why I'm a fan. I dig the strong Lemondrops and masculine, dark wood interior. I'm going to go out on a limb and describe it as "The most interesting man in the world" kind of sexy and I'm not even into guys that old. You can bring a book and sit alone here without being disturbed.
Like the title states, the hotel is not too far from all things in downtown and gave me a great exercise walking back and forth in the beautiful Vancouver downtown.
Great view from higher floors.
I stayed at the Sutton Place Hotel for one night and had a fairly good experience.
Pros? The hotel is in the heart of Downtown, Vancouver so shops, transit and restaurants were located rather close and nothing was more than a five minute walk away.
Another pro, housekeeping came by two times during our stay. Although we personally didn’t need it, it’s a great benefit for the messy traveler!

Parking was $40, but could go in and out and stayed until 4 pm day of check out. Room service quality of food was fine. had some problems with movie, but was rectified by the staff immediately.
A great cozy bar right of Robson. Perfect for an cozy intimate conversation after a long day. The bar staff is fabulous, though it can get extremely busy on the weekends.
This hotel is always my first choice when staying dowtown Vancouver. The location is perfect, super close to everything. The only thing that I dislike about this hotel is the fact that it's 40$ a night for parking. That is way to high to ask for parking especially when you are staying for more than 2 nights. Overall, always an excellent choice.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone in the Vancouver area. I hat the time of my life, and the Sutton Place was at the heart of it all. It was so easy getting around, there were too many amenities to mention. It was so centrally located, close to everything. Just wonderful. It has this french victorian charm with the polite and inviting nature Canada is famous for.
I have to admit that we were hoping to take my dad to Bacchus Lounge (my sis and I's favourite haunt) but as we approached we noticed it was clearly closed for a function. I think we seriously let out expressions of horrified disappointment. I mean we love this place. It is truly the classiest place in town to go old school, have a martini by the fireplace and listen to the piano player.... more
We have stayed in better 3star hotels for this to be called
a 5 star shame on your rating
Parking was outrages $39.50 a day.
The bathroom needed a total up grade granite had a film
of built up grime tub needed grouting.
Tv remote only worked while sitting on the edge of the bed
Tv was off to the side not good if watching for the bed.
You can't beat the location of the hotel being just off Robson Street if you want to go shopping. However, to call this is a five star hotel is just ridiculous. It is a three or maybe a four star. Our hotel room was dated, shabby, and uncomfortable. There was no free coffee or tea, no extra pillows so we only had one lumpy pillow each. The bed felt like sleeping on wet sand. The room was loud... more
We were doing an overnight after a cruise. We arrived at the hotel at 9 AM hoping we could just drop off our luggage for the day. They let us check in immediately. A very nice surprise.
The hotel was relatively small and very quiet, and the location was excellent in the heart of downtown Vancouver.
The room was at a corner on 19th floor with a great view and spacious enough. Also the room was well maintained and clean.
The hotel personals were professional and friendly.

We loved this hotel. We booked it for three nights during July 4, 2010 weekend. The only part I did not like about it was the parking cost. We ended up paying almost $120 for three night parking. Other than that, the stay here was very comfortable.
Excellent location, clean, helpful, nice staff. I would highly recommend this hotel and when I go back to Vancouver I will stay there again. We went over New Years and it was decorated from top to bottom in the lobby. There is also the Japa-dog food truck right out front!
In the heart of the city, with European elegance. Stayed over our Thanksgiving holiday and it even snowed on Thanksgiving day. Bathtub temperature pool water in the winter was welcomed, there is a steam room,... more
Charming hotel. Staff was friendly, helpful, remembering our names after one meeting. The rooms were comfortable, maids kept everything emaculate. Due to location, we could walk everywhere in Vancouver. A wonderful city and hotel. We will return!
This hotel is very central and has a taxi rank out front as well as an excellent supermarket nearby . Arrived at hotel extremely late due to the BA strike and was given complementary refreshments in our room .It has a very good restaurant and all the staff were very courteous .

We had a wonderful stay and the Sutton Hotel in Vancouver. The location was great and our room was very nice. We did not hear any noise in the hallways or from our neighbors in the rooms next to us. The outside noise is noticable even on the 19th floor but not bothersome.
Breakfast was good, the bar is nice, hotel staff and valet attendance were great. Canadians are the friendliest people.
Stayed for 5 nights. Location of hotel couldn't be better. Right in the city center. Took the Canada Line Sky Train from airport to downtown Vancouver. About 4 block walk to hotel. Hotel room was excellent and the staff were superb. Would definitely stay there again when going back to Vancouver.
“We opted to go to the restaurant instead of room service as we had seen a particular fish dish on the RS menu and thought it may be available in the restaurant. It was not on the menu, but the chef said he would be glad to make it for us. He had some problems with the fish from the supplier and substituted another fish which was very very good. Kudos to the Chef and staff.”
The hotel was wonderful. It was centrally located next to Robson street shopping and within walking distance of Vancouver's highlights. Most of the tours that we took picked us up from the hotel lobby. The staff and concierge were very kind, helpful and polite. The hotel and our rooms were very clean and elegant. The hotel offers discounts for local shopping.
“Sutton Place was comparable to The Mansion in Dallas and this is the highest complement. My husband and I enjoyed every minute of our stay. In fact, our hotel became a destination rather than only a lovely place to stay. We will return.”
This hotel was first class all the way. Located in the center of downton Vancouver, we were centrally located for our various destinations during our stay. “Overall this was an excellent hotel. On the same trip I staid at the Fairmont just down the street and Sutton Place was better.”
The only thing to fault in this great hotel is the dining room, which is sort of stodgy. Everything else is impeccable.

Impeccable service, well-appointed rooms and lobby, and centrally located to almost everything. Highly recommended!
Very classy european-style hotel. Excellent value for money, other than high valet parking and internet. Friendly, knowledgeable concierge staff. Silk-covered duvets and ironed sheets on otherwise ordinary mattresses.
We stayed here over spring break with the grandparents and kids in a two-bedroom suite. Many positives, few cons.
We found the hotel staff to be accomadating, especially considering our 5 AM arrival. Initially, a room with king sized bed was not available in non-smoking room. Desk was able to give us a suite in the extended stay portion of the hotel at no extra cost. We found the rooms very clean and pleasant, with a full kitchen.
“The service upon arrival is prompt, professional, and friendly. The hotel was very clean and nicely decorated. The only problem was that the pool was closed for renovations which was a huge let down for the children. Our stay there overall was outstanding and a great location.”
“This felt like a fine hotel without the stuffiness. I was comfortable with my son -14 yrs, exploring the amenities alone and the staff answered his questions respectfully. The beds/bedding were very comfortable and rooms cleaned in a timely manner.”
“Nice enough hotel in a great location; nothing special.”
“This is an excellent hotel to stay at for a couple or if traveling on business. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the room, albeit small, was beautifully decorated. The restaurant and lounge is right off the lobby and the chocolate buffet was incredible.”
“Superb central location, excellent service, superbly designed and appointed.”
“French provincial feels but a bit dingy and outdated. Lobby played Vividly Four Seasons continuously, no variation in music. Restaurant was extremely overpriced, moderate quality and lighting was poor. Chocolate buffet did not offer delicate or superior choices, the menu items were mediocre. Good service but a bit stuffy.”

I recently stayed at the Sutton Place in Vancouver. The pictures of the pool are inaccurate, to say the least. The pool is tiny and the Le Spa staff gave us grief about using robes, eventhough a note in our "apartment" room said we were welcome to use them.
