Overall a very good stay

We stayed for eight nights with a six month and a five year old. The king suite has all the essential amenities for families with young children, a fridge, a microwave. However, the decoration and the furniture of the room were old style and very old. We were moved to a 18th floor room with nice view on our third night. The service provided by the staff was wonderful.

Clean, comfortable, convenient

Location of hotel is very good to get everywhere in Vancouver. Full kitchen is wonderful when travelling with family. Bathrooms could use a bit of updating, but otherwise very nice place to stay.

Good location; out-dated & dustry rooms

Spent a lot of time trying to find an outlet near the bed, ended up having to unplug a lamp from behind the headboard--area was full of dust. WiFi was an additional charge but obnoxious to use (could not connect my iPhone and laptop simultaneously).Pool and hot tub were nice. Bar had great service. Room service food was mediocre.

This was the second time I stayed at Sutton Place and I was not disappointed in the friendly staff and the elegant room. A pity the restaurant was being renovated as the alternative was not up to Sutton Place standard, but as there are so many great restaurants nearby it wasn't a problem. I look forward to another visit when the new restaurant opens.

Classically Elegant

Stayed for one night after booking through Hotwire ($101). Got a great price and was completely happy with the accommodations. I must have received one of the renovated rooms because it was spectacular. Very comfortable bed and furnishings. Very clean. Right in the heart of the downtown area. Highly recommend.

The people who work here are without exception absolute solid gold. The location of the hotel is perfect. The pool and fitness area are a bit difficult to locate at first and a few parts of our room were showing their age but it was still a great weekend getaway. I would be happy to stay here again.

I stayed here (in a regular room) for three weeks. My room was pretty dated but the bed was super comfortable. Most importantly, the service I received during my stay was amazing. Comfy leather and old wood

Old money atmosphere with the lovely oak paneling and large leather chairs, but not overly pretentious. Comfortable place for a drink or a cup of tea. Not as expensive as one would expect of the Sutton Place Hotel.

Wonderful atmosphere

Food and drink options were very good. I liked the old fashioned atmosphere of the lounge and the seating made for great ambiance for either socializing or having privacy. Bartender, Michael, was wonderful! Such a great attitude, very helpful with recommendations and didn't make basic drinks - he added a little flair and "love" to each drink.

My stay was actually quite pleasant until I got charged $77 for having 1 domestic beer from the minibar. I guess someone broke into my room and took $70 worth of booze right after I checked out... That doesn't seem very safe now does it!? Never going back.

I stayed at the Sutton Place Hotel with my mom and my daughter for the first time. My mom and my daughter totally enjoyed their stay here in this hotel. Unique Quality: They have a very nice bar. Great low key atmosphere with wood panel walls. Great cocktails and you may see a celebrity or two. The bar is tucked out of site which makes it appealing to the tv and movie stars.

The hotel was great. The staff was so friendly to us, to our kids and to our dog. The room was perfect - enough room for us to relax and not trip over one another. Everything you could want was within easy walking distance. Grocery store across the street, Starbucks within a block, drug store two blocks away. We had a great experience.

Affordable yet hi end hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sutton. It is located close to all amenities and shopping on Robson. It was just a short walk for us to take in a Canucks hockey game. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. We have tried a few hotels in Vancouver and nothing compares to what the Sutton has to offer.

The hotel is dated.Wifi is not included, yet it is free in every cafe, bar, shop in the surrounding area. Are they fighting a lost battle? The location is next to Robson where I frequently shopped, ate, and explored. The staff was freindly and helpful. We do recommend this hotel for your stay in Vancouver. Also, I highly recommend the steam room and indoor pool. Dont forget your swimwear.

This was a great experience. The service was exceptional. Concierge was able to make reservations at different restaurants and every night we would get back to the hotel the bed was made AGAIN and chocolates were waiting for us! Location was amazing too!

The room wasn't anything spectacular. The location is great, but for the level of prestige the name carries I was dissapointed. The rooms have an old smell to them and are pretty dated. The bed was comfortable and had a decent view. Front desk check in staff all seemed nice but me and my husband got stuck with someone who woke up on the wrong side of the bed seemingly.

Chocolate buffet was super yummy, staff was excellent, left so full I could barely move! Recommend for sure.

Great Hotel

Stayed here for a night after a ski vacation at Whistler, and the hotel was a perfect way to relax and unwind before flying home. The room was great and bed extremely comfortable. Also, the location was great for exploring downtown Vancouver. Would definitely return.

Nice hotel with good location

This is a well located boutique style hotel. The room was nice and clean but I would have expected a better quality mattress. I was not impressed with he 39 dollar parking fee. I was not impressed that the room did not have wifi and that when I checked out, they billed me 11.95 because I turned the tv music on.

Great City Stop Over

The hotel is great for location. A short walk from the Canada Line and taxis waiting at the front door. The hotel is beautiful with a lounge, liquor store and restaurant. I would say it is more of a Victorian feel.

Great Downtown Vancouver Hotel

Had a two-room suite for my best friend's bachelor party weekend, the accommodations were fantastic, the service impeccable and everything was better than expected for the price. The gym was especially suprising, not huge but with an excellent assortment of high-end equipment, the heated pool was nice as well.Would definitely come back.

I had never stayed at this hotel before and was very pleased I picked them from the list of choices. I did have ongoing issues with the tv remote but they always sent someone quickly to resolve. They need to upgrade to flat screens.

Perfectly situated for shopping, the waterfront, and Granville Island. Internet access was expensive, more so if you have multiple devices. Unimpressed with getting no Prestige loyalty points for our 12 night booking. The staff were excellent, courteous, friendly, and efficient. Overall a very good place to stay.

The room price should include WiFi. Most hotels include this in their rates, however, it costs a much as your home WiFi for the whole month in two days. Rooms are dated. Nice room but no parking, internet or brrakfasr.

The hotel is nice and fancy, but they charge for everything. You think you got a good deal for your money until you realize you have to pay 40$ a night for parking, internet is 10-15$ per day and there is no breakfast included. I don't think it's worth it unless you really only stay at fanvy hotels in which case it might not seem expensive. Or if you don't have a car and wakr up late.

Although pricey this hotel is a bit of luxury for a few days. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Slept really well after doing alot of walking during the day. So the bath was a welcome relief. Close to shops with a supermarket over the road if you wants snack or even a meal. Walking distance to Stanley Park and the port.

Awesome customer service, had an uncomfortable bed first nights stay so I called the front desk and they were nothing but accommodating, they offered us a feather mattress topper which did the job, they had someone come up and change it by then time i went to the pool and back. We stayed 2 nights prior to a cruise and found the Sutton Place Hotel a great hotel. The room was well decorated and very clean!

I am a regular here, just like I am a regular to the adjoining side, Fleuri.

The decor is old school English with dark wood, and is dimly lit. I come here mainly for after work drink with friends, and sometimes dinner. For my AA buddies, we go elsewhere.

They offer a bar (food) menu as well as the Fleuri Restaurant menu.

Gerrard's is not for everyone but here is why I'm a fan. I dig the strong Lemondrops and masculine, dark wood interior. I'm going to go out on a limb and describe it as "The most interesting man in the world" kind of sexy and I'm not even into guys that old. You can bring a book and sit alone here without being disturbed.

Like the title states, the hotel is not too far from all things in downtown and gave me a great exercise walking back and forth in the beautiful Vancouver downtown.

I stayed at the Sutton Place Hotel for one night and had a fairly good experience.

Pros? The hotel is in the heart of Downtown, Vancouver so shops, transit and restaurants were located rather close and nothing was more than a five minute walk away.

Another pro, housekeeping came by two times during our stay. Although we personally didn’t need it, it’s a great benefit for the messy traveler!

Parking was $40, but could go in and out and stayed until 4 pm day of check out. Room service quality of food was fine. had some problems with movie, but was rectified by the staff immediately.

A great cozy bar right of Robson. Perfect for an cozy intimate conversation after a long day. The bar staff is fabulous, though it can get extremely busy on the weekends.

I am a regular at this hotel for a reason

This hotel is always my first choice when staying dowtown Vancouver. The location is perfect, super close to everything. The only thing that I dislike about this hotel is the fact that it's 40$ a night for parking. That is way to high to ask for parking especially when you are staying for more than 2 nights. Amazing hotel in the heart of Vancouver

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone in the Vancouver area. I hat the time of my life, and the Sutton Place was at the heart of it all. It was so easy getting around, there were too many amenities to mention. It was so centrally located, close to everything. Just wonderful. It has this french victorian charm with the polite and inviting nature Canada is famous for.

I have to admit that we were hoping to take my dad to Bacchus Lounge (my sis and I's favourite haunt) but as we approached we noticed it was clearly closed for a function. Very accommodating

We were doing an overnight after a cruise. We arrived at the hotel at 9 AM hoping we could just drop off our luggage for the day. They let us check in immediately. A very nice surprise.

We loved this hotel. We booked it for three nights during July 4, 2010 weekend. The only part I did not like about it was the parking cost. We ended up paying almost $120 for three night parking. Other than that, the stay here was very comfortable.

Great Time

We had a wonderful stay and the Sutton Hotel in Vancouver. The location was great and our room was very nice. We did not hear any noise in the hallways or from our neighbors in the rooms next to us. The outside noise is noticable even on the 19th floor but not bothersome.
Breakfast was good, the bar is nice, hotel staff and valet attendance were great. Canadians are the friendliest people.

Stayed for 5 nights. Location of hotel couldn't be better. Right in the city center. Took the Canada Line Sky Train from airport to downtown Vancouver. About 4 block walk to hotel. Hotel room was excellent and the staff were superb. Would definitely stay there again when going back to Vancouver.

Top-notch comfort

We stayed here for a week and a half in a lovely 2 bedroom suite. It was spacious and so comfortable and we loved having a kitchen. The price is a bit high, especially for internet and parking! worth the money my car was broken in and items stolen from the valet . hotel staff just lip service worth but no sincerity i will not go there again. it took them six hours to tell us that our wcar windows got smashed while parked on their property. Sutton Place Vancouver

Very classy european-style hotel. Excellent value for money, other than high valet parking and internet. Friendly, knowledgeable concierge staff. Silk-covered duvets and ironed sheets on otherwise ordinary mattresses.

Sutton Place Hotel

We found the hotel staff to be accomadating, especially considering our 5 AM arrival. Initially, a room with king sized bed was not available in non-smoking room. Desk was able to give us a suite in the extended stay portion of the hotel at no extra cost. We found the rooms very clean and pleasant, with a full kitchen.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, in this price range. The staff were all friendly and some knew my name. The rooms were immaculate (we had 10 rooms for my group). Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, fresh flowers, great view. We were within walking distance of much of Vancouver. I wish I had done more research about what to do, what to see, where to eat, but it was a great start of a vacacation.

I stayed at the Sutton Place for the Women of Faith conference weekend and was very pleased with the hotel. I will be staying there again in the future.

Not that great

I recently stayed at the Sutton Place in Vancouver. The pictures of the pool are inaccurate, to say the least. The pool is tiny and the Le Spa staff gave us grief about using robes, eventhough a note in our "apartment" room said we were welcome to use them. The hallways on the "apartment" side of the hotel are dark and hot. I was very disappointed. I would not stay at this hotel again.
