Once a favourite spot of mine, of late the service has become disinterested and worse, condescending. The last half dozen clients I've taken there have not been impressed.

Outstanding experience

I come here a lot but last Friday was off the chart! Duck and Arctic char were excellent as always, but the special attention paid to diet restrictions, while providing a delicious solution took the evening to a select experience. Menu changed

The menu has changed and the new menu is disappionting. The lovely salads are no more and the mains are uninspiring. The brisket sandwhich was barely ok- could not taste the saurekraut or the dijon and the meat could have been more tender. The salted carmel chocolate cake was great. Won't be back for lunch for some time.

Hidden gem

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we had a fantastic time. Everything about this place is amazing. The menu is small but everything we tried from it was incredible. A great place, we will definitely be back!

I've been to the Marc three times now, each time finding it simply okay. I keep going back as so many love it. I've only been to the Marc for lunch, but I love it. The omelettes are my go-to favourite. Stuffed with anything from lamb, arugula and asiago to the one I had the other day with beef and red peppers and possibly gruyere. Fabulous!

Super place to go for any occasion or no occasion at all... Great food, great waiting staff and fantastic prices. We ate on the patio and as the night went on I started to get a chill... They have wraps/blankets to use! How perfect is that!? Loved it! We didn't feel rush out and staff were ever present, but not hovering- all was exceptional.

The Marc is not only my favourite downtown restaurant for business lunches, any type of dinner occasion; formal or informal but has become our family's restaurant of choice for special occasions. Their people are second to none and treat you so well. Food is always terrific and service amazing.

Good, but one of best in city

I went to The Marc because of its rating as one of the top restaurants in Edmonton. I hope that isn't true because I was underwhelmed.

Excellent dining experience

We went to The Marc for a business/social dinner. Fantastic meals and atmosphere to wind down after a long day. The server was attentive and very helpful, and not intrusive. At his suggestion, we ended up ordering all of their four desserts to share.

I love the Marc, it's one of my favorite restaurants, but on this occasion it let me down. My wife and I have been to The Marc serveral times and enjoy it each time. We like fine dining and always prefer a restaurant that is not part of a chain. One of the best deals for foodies in the city.

High quality for reasonable price

The decor of this place is very minimalist but charming. The scallops and lamb were perfectly cooked. Grilled octopus was so tender it could have been a chicken tentacle! For this quality of food we would have paid much more in Calgary.

The Marc was a pleasant surprise. I actually decided to go there after reading reviews and knowing that my future daughter-in-law liked steak and finding that they were awarded "best steak" in 2013 .
We enjoyed our evening, our service was very good and the food was done per our requests.

Lovely late lunch

We he decided last minute to have a late lunch me were able to sit on the patio. It we a sunny day, but still a little cool. In addition to the food (daily fish special has never failed to please) and attentive service, the staff bought a small blanket/wrap to keep the chill away. My wife and I went to \u2018The Marc\u2019 for our wedding anniversary, and had a wonderful dinner. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The house cocktails were refreshing, and the starters were perfect. For our mains, I went with the bison steak special, and loved it. I would definitely recommend this tucked away downtown restaurant. A client surprised me and took me out to lunch. Everything was wonderful, atmosphere, menu, service all exceptional! Had a business lunch here with a colleague and the place was packed, and I mean every seat, and the food was excellent. The restaurant is relatively small and the kitchen is in full view so you can really see the care that goes into every meal. I would definitely go back but I'd recommend making reservations.

We dropped in for dinner with no reservation and were surprised to find it nearly full on a monday night. We were able to get a table for a short meal and thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service and atmoshphere. I had the lamb shank and it was cooked pefectly to me. I look forward to returning.

Very Good food but only fair value and comfort

Although the food was lovely and service was professional the portions were quite small,(2 1/2 baby potatoes is inexcusable !) I would not be excited to return unless someone else paid.
