Ok experience

We were in Calgary for a couple of nights and decided to eat at the keg. The last time we were at the Keg, it was a great experience. This location was a little busy and our food took a while to come. Seemed like our waitress was neglecting us. I would say 3 and a half stars

Nice Meal

Ate a three course here. Recommend the Scallops in Bacon and the Main meal of Salmon is Sweet Chilli sauce.
Partner says the steak was good.
Good service, friendly staff. Was a little busy when we at there so staff seemed a little rushed.

You can never go wrong in choosing the Keg, I was staying at the attached hotel so this was convenient but the service was excellent as was the food

birthday dinner displeased

Asked for medium well, came out extremely well. Lighting was way to dark, very straining on the eyes. Potatoes seemed like they were 1 day old. Seated in a high traffic area. Will not revisit.

Very accommodating

I ordered a cobb salad without chicken, extra pine nuts and avocado. They did a fantastic job on this and I liked how they did not drench my salad in dressing. The portion was large and I ate the entire thing!

Good food, bad service

Our reservation was for noon for a larger group. We waited 15min to get seated. Our food order wasn't taken until 12:40. Food didn't arrive until 1:00. Not a good choice for lunch as the service was very slow.

Great evening, good food, good friends, good wine, good time. A thoroughly great evening. From the reservation, to reception and throughout the entire evening, service and attention were excellent. We were unlucky in that the extraction hood failed shortly after we ordered our steaks. The staff immediately let us know and even offered relocating us to avoid the smoke scent. A very enjoyable meal

On my trip to Calgary went to the keg for dinner and we were very impressed with the steaks. Cooked to our liking, served with fries and veg, service was very good and staff very helpful. Nice wine and irish coffees to finsh.

I ordered a medium sirloin steak but I waited a very long time for it. The restaurant was not busy at all and when it finally arrived it was medium well. Not sure if the delay was due to the kitchen or the server problem. I did not get much service but I still left a 15% tips but the server just left my copy of the receipt on the table and left without saying a word.

Location, service and food - perfect

Resto is attached to the Calgary Westin so ideal if the weather is bad or for convenience sake. Service was excellent even when very busy. Bar is nice (typical)but TVs are disappointing if you're a sports fan. They need to upgrade to bigger and all HD.
Meals were all very good, patio is excellent. Would highly recommend this Keg.

Disappointed

I was in calgary for a course and my husband flew down to celebrate my passing. We came to the keg! My sangria drink was warm with no ice. Full of chopped oranges with peels on! No cherries like the menu said. Our steak was over done and tough. I had the oscar. $100 bill and left so upset. No manager or supervisor checked on us. It was awful. Great dessert!

Overall service was slower as we had to sit around between appetizers and then entree even though we were done but service was good and the creme brûlée was amazing! The filet minion was super tender but a little to salty. But overall it was a great experience and I'd definitely go back.

Amazing experience for father's day

My wife and I ate at the Keg on 4th Avenue for Father's day and had a fantastic experience.
We both have gluten issues and our waiter was extremely knowledgeable, even teaching us a few things we didn't know had gluten in them. The manager also came over to discuss our gluten issue and assured us that everything was safe.... more

The patio is great, with comfortable furniture and super people-watching possibilities. This is attached to the Calgary Westin. The food is usual Keg fare. They know red meat! Enny was our server with the great smile and who gave wonderful service. The Keg ran out of a certain wine that we were enjoying, so the Maître D offered us an even better bottle of vino on the house. We have been to this Keg Restaurant several times. This time was quite disappointing. The Hostess immediately took me to my table and later escorted the other party to my table. We were given sufficient time to select from the menu and the meal delivered in a timely manner. The Waitress was attentive to our needs and we did not have to prompt her for drink refills or the check. Great experience.

Recently booked for a large group of 30 people for dinner after the Calgary Marathon. The restaurant sectioned off a large area for us and provided 2 servers. The service was excellent and everyone who attended had a great meal.
I would absolutely return and recommend to others for how well we were treated.

Consistently Good

There is a reason this Keg is hard to get a reservation....they are always good with steaks consistently cooked perfectly. For lunch I would highly recommend the steak salad. It makes for a perfect lunch being filling but not too heavy.

It's consistently good

It's always consistent when it comes to the food and the service. No surprises just good food. The steaks are good and the fish too. The lobster was just OK as it's frozen. The carrot cake was amazing.

Odd food

My guess and I ordered tuna tacos with a spinach salad. The spinach salad had strawberries, candied nuts, sweet dressing and some soft cheese. This is ridiculous! Such sweet salad just doesn't go well with fish. We picked a few spinach leaves and left the salad untouched. Whoever makes the menue, should know better.

Ordered medium well, got well done. When they came back with a new steak. it was cooked perfectly but the meat was very tough.

I love this place, I eat at the Keg on 4th for lunch at least once a week and is always a great place to meet friends, Friday after work. The prime rib is always consistent and you can never go wrong with the steak sandwich.
The service is always incredible coupled with a great atmosphere.

We went here for a dinner one of the nights we stayed at the westin. They have great beers on tap, and a huge wine list if you like wine. Disappointed

Very noisy for a business lunch. Two of the three orders were for a cob salad and a Caesars salad. Received a plain lettuce and vinegar salad and a shrimp salad. Told the waiter and got another salad which has no name! Complete waste, embarrassing for me the host.

First time ever! Steak ordered was way overlooked.... Server even noticed but all he said was I'll ofer you a drink.
Not impressed as pretty much any keg you go to is A1 steak, service etc... Must have been an off night

Never Fails!

The Keg on 4th is an easy "go-to" choice for me. Whether for personal or business, lunches or dinners you can never go wrong. I recently went for a business dinner and had their season special from the Dungenous Crab menu - it was amazing! The server was attentive and recommended an impressive bottle of wine I think has become a new favourite of mine.
All in all a great experience.

I've been to the keg many times, but the one on 4th I must say is my favorite. All servers were full of smiles making our time there very pleasant. Our last few visits we had been disappointed that the service was not in keeping with the usual Keg experience. Pleased to say that our most recent dining experience was back to the high standard that we used to receive at this location.

Never Disappointing!

Once again, a great experience.
The Keg Downtown is typically our restaurant of choice - especially when dining in groups.

Fantastic

As usual, the Keg hits out of the ballpark. The service is efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. Both steaks that we had (filet mignon and sirloin), we're tender and flavourful. The twice baked potato is one of the best in the industry. We will definitely return if we are in the area again!

Great ambience and setting the staff are very nice too. The food is absolute quality, filet mignon and the keg fries are gorgeous.

Our server was very good - knew all the specials. What was especially great is that she sensed that we were there on a "date" and kept the service unobtrusive.
The only down side is that we had to wait for the bill.

We went for supper and the food was great and the service was amazing! There were 4 of us and my mom's steak came overcooked but they were very gracious about taking it back and cooking it the way she had ordered it. Better Than Expected

A minor substitution was requested and made without a fuss and all the food tasted delicious. The only snag was the tea was served luke warm and tea needs to be made hot in a pre-heated pot. When this issue was brought to our waiter, Jeff’s attention, he brought fresh hot tea. Jeff was attentive, yet not obtrusive.

Had our Christmas party here for third year in a row. Third time not the charm. Initial service was great, food was great. After we had dinner the servers disappeared. Service was on the slow side, but excellent steak

Steaks were perfect. Drinks were well-mixed. Service (especially initial contact) was somewhat slower than we would have liked, but it improved somewhat over the course of the night. The atmosphere is great - lots of baffles and more private areas. . . much better than steakhouses with too many wide open spaces.

Superb service, great steaks

I dined for dinner with a large group at The Keg. The service was amazing in spite of the restaurant being fully occupied. The décor is upscale. I had the best Cesar Salad I've had in decades and the rib eye was cooked and seasoned perfectly.

Amazing rib eye stake, one of the best we ever had. Great service, very attentive waitress and good spot. The only think they should look into is maybe a renovation as place looks a bit tired

Loved that the Keg was located in the Westin Hotel lobby - service was excellent, staff were friendly.
I ate in the bar area as the restaurant was very busy and it was pretty noisy. Looked like a popular hangout for the afterwork business crowd.

Average food in a cliché steak restaurant with poor service

We visited the keg steakhouse on a short stay in Calgary having not previously been to a keg steakhouse. We found the experience very disappointing with overpriced decidedly average food. The service was very slow - we had to wait 1hr 30 from sitting down to getting our steak. Not recommended - I wish we had gone to Caesars instead.

Typical Keg. Is attached to Westin so a pretty good spot for a nice dinner if you don't want to walk to far. Lounge seeting is okay but I Don't like the seating arrangements. Food is always pretty good but mostly red meat as expected and not very cheap.
