The Keg Steakhouse & Bar serves the finest cuts of succulent steak, aged for tenderness and grilled to perfection. Prime rib is a Keg specialty, slow roasted, hand carved and perfectly seasoned with special Keg spices. The restaurant also serves delicious seafood, memorable appetizers, crisp salads… and decadent desserts. A casual ambiance and friendly, very knowledgeable staff are proud and... more
We were in Calgary for a couple of nights and decided to eat at the keg. The last time we were at the Keg, it was a great experience. This location was a little busy and our food took a while to come. Seemed like our waitress was neglecting us. I would say 3 and a half stars
Ate a three course here. Recommend the Scallops in Bacon and the Main meal of Salmon is Sweet Chilli sauce.
Partner says the steak was good.
Good service, friendly staff. Was a little busy when we at there so staff seemed a little rushed.
Worth eating here a least once.
We started with the baked brie, the French onion soup, and the iceberg wedge, all excellent. We continued with the filet mignon (two medium and one medium-rare, became one medium and two medium-rare... more rare than medium) and prime rib, very good and tasty. The cheesecake and the vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce concluded a very good dinner. Service... more
You can never go wrong in choosing the Keg, I was staying at the attached hotel so this was convenient but the service was excellent as was the food
Asked for medium well, came out extremely well. Lighting was way to dark, very straining on the eyes. Potatoes seemed like they were 1 day old. Seated in a high traffic area. Will not revisit.
I ordered a cobb salad without chicken, extra pine nuts and avocado. They did a fantastic job on this and I liked how they did not drench my salad in dressing. The portion was large and I ate the entire thing!
Our reservation was for noon for a larger group. We waited 15min to get seated. Our food order wasn't taken until 12:40. Food didn't arrive until 1:00. Not a good choice for lunch as the service was very slow.
Four of us were in attendance for lunch from our office. We had reservations, which I would recommend if you plan on dinning over lunch. Waiter was very nice and offered suggestions. Food presentation wasn't that spectacular. My steak sandwich was chopped into pieces and not one continuous piece. One of the guests had salmon and the other had the... more
We were there for a business lunch. The acoustics made it so that we nearly had to shout to hear people across the table. I had a salad - the Southwest one. The chicken breast had a coating of some sauce that was mainly hot, but not flavorful. "This is Canada, Dummy!", I told myself, I should not expect the... more
Great evening, good food, good friends, good wine, good time. A thoroughly great evening. From the reservation, to reception and throughout the entire evening, service and attention were excellent. Food quality was top drawer and everyone enjoyed their meals. Would definitely recommend the restaurant to friends and business associates.
was pretty shocked at service waitress was somewhere else on this night not very attentive. Had to send steak back three times. First time I mentioned to waitress that was supposed to be medium rare she tells me Our medium rare is pretty rare I just kind of looked around at other diners at table and thought this is the beginning of the end. By the time food arrived appetite went out the window... more
The service from Jayson was amazing!!! The food was exceptional
Keg is known for its steak, but other items on the menu such as salad, the various appetizers, and seafood are good too. I especially like the French onion soup here, thick and flavourful.
I personally don't understand people's love of the Keg. I rarely visit as I do not enjoy the price paid for food that is, at best, average. The atmosphere of the Keg was nice, it was clean and it felt like it was well maintained. I ordered a steak, as would be expected, and was not wowed by it. It... more
Hostess sat us down and offered a complimentary appetizer, service was excellent food and wine ditto
Service was fantastic and enough choice on the menu without it being too much.
Kegs is always great to have New York strips. As usual the experience was good. Ordered for ribs this time, but it was delivered with no bones in it. It was also little undercooked for me. This restaurant has some nice Australian wines.
The ambience is marvellous. It's a nice place to have business meetings too. Overall i would like...

We only had a main course - both steaks, but the quality of the meat and the cooking of the meal was excellent. Great service all round also.
Had an enjoyable steak dinner at The Keg located in The Westin. Handsome great drinks and steaks after a day at the Stampede.
We were unlucky in that the extraction hood failed shortly after we ordered our steaks. The staff immediately let us know and even offered relocating us to avoid the smoke scent. At that point the kids were already set up with their crafts, and we decided to stay where we were. There was barely any smoke as they decided to cook our steaks on low heat setting according to the manager. This... more
On my trip to Calgary went to the keg for dinner and we were very impressed with the steaks. Cooked to our liking, served with fries and veg, service was very good and staff very helpful. Nice wine and irish coffees to finsh.
I ordered a medium sirloin steak but I waited a very long time for it. The restaurant was not busy at all and when it finally arrived it was medium well. Not sure if the delay was due to the kitchen or the server problem. I did not get much service but I still left a 15% tips but the server just left my copy of the receipt on the table and left without saying a word.
Resto is attached to the Calgary Westin so ideal if the weather is bad or for convenience sake. Service was excellent even when very busy. Bar is nice (typical)but TVs are disappointing if you're a sports fan. They need to upgrade to bigger and all HD.
Meals were all very good, patio is excellent. Would highly recommend this Keg.
I was in calgary for a course and my husband flew down to celebrate my passing. We came to the keg! My sangria drink was warm with no ice. Full of chopped oranges with peels on! No cherries like the menu said. Our steak was over done and tough. I had the oscar. $100 bill and left so upset. No manager or supervisor checked on us. It was awful. Don't know if I would recommend or come back to this... more
Overall service was slower as we had to sit around between appetizers and then entree even though we were done but service was good and the creme brûlée was amazing! The filet minion was super tender but a little to salty. But overall it was a great experience and I'd definitely go back.
Always great service at this location. Fast pleace to go for lunch. The salad was wonderful and steak was cooked to perfection.
Great steak salad, generous portion of steak cooked perfectly. Entire party happy with their meals.
My wife and I ate at the Keg on 4th Avenue for Father's day and had a fantastic experience.
We both have gluten issues and our waiter was extremely knowledgeable, even teaching us a few things we didn't know had gluten in them. The manager also came over to discuss our gluten issue and assured us that everything was safe....

The patio is great, with comfortable furniture and super people-watching possibilities. This is attached to the Calgary Westin. The food is usual Keg fare. They know red meat! I did wait a long time for service, as a lone middle-aged lady in my zoo-attending garb, while the power-suited men seemed to be served with great alacrity. This was quickly corrected... more
Location is great for taking clients for an informal lunch meeting. Central to quite a few places.
this restaraunt is without a doubt the best in all aspects
Enny was our server with the great smile and who gave wonderful service. The Keg ran out of a certain wine that we were enjoying, so the Maître D offered us an even better bottle of vino on the house. It was a wonderful night out with my family, topped off with service that went above and beyond! The Keg made our night together, thank-you
I have had many great dinners at the Keg and I must say this time it wasn't good. The steak was good and cooked just right, but the vegetables and potato were horrible. The peppers were going off and should have been thrown out, the asparagus was "woody" and tasteless and the baked potato was way over cooked and mushy. I was very disappointed and may not go back. The Keg is my favorite place to... more
This restaurant came highly regarded from fellow business travelers, so I stopped in for dinner while in Calgary on a business trip. The food was the obvious draw, since I had been told that Calgary was known for good beef. I was not disappointed in the quality or quantity of the meal. I ordered the 10 oz New York Strip... more
visited this place during my business trip. very good selection of meat and pepper steak was truly amazing. priced a bit higher than similar places around town, but worth every penny
Menu has a nice variety of options. Nice change from other quick stops.
First time here we were pleasantly surprised about how busy the cosy lit place was. Our wine order took a long time to deliver and was on the house because of that. Great service. Starters, steaks (New York strips) and deserts were all of very good quality and no issue to share platters or make some adjustments. The waiting staff... more
patio was great to have a steak and a beer. will probably be backa few times before end of summer
The Keg consistently serves quality food. Always a safe bet!
We have been to this Keg Restaurant several times. This time was quite disappointing. The server may have been inexperienced, or perhaps was distracted, but food showed up in the wrong order, items were forgotten, inattention to clarifying items on the menu, and attempts to remove food items that were still being eaten. My Prime Rib (mostly the reason why I go there) was dry and of mediocre... more
We had stopped in for supper while visiting family. The service was good, good amazing, and price are fair. I always loved the keg and I never get disappointed going to different locations
The Hostess immediately took me to my table and later escorted the other party to my table. We were given sufficient time to select from the menu and the meal delivered in a timely manner. The Waitress was attentive to our needs and we did not have to prompt her for drink refills or the check. Great experience.
Recently booked for a large group of 30 people for dinner after the Calgary Marathon. The restaurant sectioned off a large area for us and provided 2 servers. The service was excellent and everyone who attended had a great meal.
I would absolutely return and recommend to others for how well we were treated.
There is a reason this Keg is hard to get a reservation....they are always good with steaks consistently cooked perfectly. For lunch I would highly recommend the steak salad. It makes for a perfect lunch being filling but not too heavy.
We were a very large group and the servers did a great job.
We recently hired a new person for our office and we brought her to The Keg for a welcoming in lunch.
The four of lunch enjoyed the lunch and the service as always.
The food, service and ambience were all top notch!
Today we went to the Keg for lunch with a group from work. I was looking forward to it as I have been to this Keg many times before. Today was very disappointing. We arrived at 11:30 and didn't get out of there until 1:15. Service was poor, although our server was friendly. I had the 6 oz. steak sandwich... more
It's always consistent when it comes to the food and the service. No surprises just good food. The steaks are good and the fish too. The lobster was just OK as it's frozen. The carrot cake was amazing.
My guess and I ordered tuna tacos with a spinach salad. The spinach salad had strawberries, candied nuts, sweet dressing and some soft cheese. This is ridiculous! Such sweet salad just doesn't go well with fish. We picked a few spinach leaves and left the salad untouched. Whoever makes the menue, should know better.
Extremely good service.
Ordered medium well, got well done. When they came back with a new steak. it was cooked perfectly but the meat was very tough.
As mentioned the service was really good.

Great service & the food was delish! The Keg always tries to accommodate.
Great food, great service and a wonderful (even playful) atmosphere.
I love this place, I eat at the Keg on 4th for lunch at least once a week and is always a great place to meet friends, Friday after work. The prime rib is always consistent and you can never go wrong with the steak sandwich.
The service is always incredible coupled with a great atmosphere.
We went here for a dinner one of the nights we stayed at the westin. They have great beers on tap, and a huge wine list if you like wine. We had the crab special with the New York steak and it was amazing! Everything was cooked perfect. Our waiter was very friendly, kind and prompt. I've had other times at the keg that weren't worth mentioning, but these were locations in different provinces.... more
Very noisy for a business lunch. Two of the three orders were for a cob salad and a Caesars salad. Received a plain lettuce and vinegar salad and a shrimp salad. Told the waiter and got another salad which has no name! Complete waste, embarrassing for me the host.
First time ever! Steak ordered was way overlooked.... Server even noticed but all he said was I'll ofer you a drink.
Not impressed as pretty much any keg you go to is A1 steak, service etc... Must have been an off night
The Keg on 4th is an easy "go-to" choice for me. Whether for personal or business, lunches or dinners you can never go wrong. I recently went for a business dinner and had their season special from the Dungenous Crab menu - it was amazing! The server was attentive and recommended an impressive bottle of wine I think has become a new favourite of mine.
All in all a great experience.
The food was great and the service was good too, we were in and out for a timing lunch meeting for work. Will definitely come again!
I've been to the keg many times, but the one on 4th I must say is my favorite. All servers were full of smiles making our time there very pleasant. My mother and I both have allergies and they did not take that lightly, the server was well informed and the manager stopped by to make sure we felt comfortable with our dinner choice. It was an outting for Mother's day and I'm glad I didn't chose... more
Our last few visits we had been disappointed that the service was not in keeping with the usual Keg experience. Pleased to say that our most recent dining experience was back to the high standard that we used to receive at this location.
WE had a great evening with Alejandro our waiter. So attentive and fun sense of humour! Our meal was delicious, steaks done perfect and it came out hot!
Good , bright, modern decor and lighting. Friendly and efficient staff. I have eaten here reliably and enjoyably solo and with business colleagues
Excellent salads and steaks and a good wine list.
I would return for business lunches.
Need to improve... 90 seconds after you sit down, ask for order ..... not ready yet, after another 60 seconds, ask again, not ready yet(4 people), after 8 more minutes, everybody ready, but never come back again.... need to wait another 10 minutes.......
Time must be right, not earlier, not later......

the lunch crowd is always great. Great food, great people. Love The Keg on 4th.
Once again, a great experience.
The Keg Downtown is typically our restaurant of choice - especially when dining in groups.
As usual, the Keg hits out of the ballpark. The service is efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. Both steaks that we had (filet mignon and sirloin), we're tender and flavourful. The twice baked potato is one of the best in the industry. We will definitely return if we are in the area again!
Steak is always tender and the baked potatoes to due for.
Great ambience and setting the staff are very nice too. The food is absolute quality, filet mignon and the keg fries are gorgeous.
Sweet and spicy salmon was outstanding. Great customer service and delicious food.
Our server was very good - knew all the specials. What was especially great is that she sensed that we were there on a "date" and kept the service unobtrusive.
The only down side is that we had to wait for the bill.
We went for supper and the food was great and the service was amazing! There were 4 of us and my mom's steak came overcooked but they were very gracious about taking it back and cooking it the way she had ordered it. Plus the manager came over personally and appologized and gave her the meal for free as well... more
A minor substitution was requested and made without a fuss and all the food tasted delicious. The only snag was the tea was served luke warm and tea needs to be made hot in a pre-heated pot. When this issue was brought to our waiter, Jeff’s attention, he brought fresh hot tea. Jeff was attentive, yet not obtrusive.
The food was very tasty, service was fast.
My medium rare teryaki steak was a little too pink
What more can I say
always a fan of the keg, and the calgary keg didn't disspoint. I see some people aren't giving good reviews about it, but the food here is no different than the food at any other keg. Good meal
I'm a Keg fan and when staying at the Westin in Calgary I usually go to the Keg. I was just at the Westin Hotel again and wanted a snack to eat in my room. So I decided to try their prime rib sliders.
They were terrible. They were cold, one had only 1 small slice of beef in it...

Had our Christmas party here for third year in a row. Third time not the charm. Initial service was great, food was great. After we had dinner the servers disappeared. Last time I went here it was poor. Not sure why I gave it another chance, and again was disappointed. Service was OK but the food served was a joke. Steaks were perfect. Drinks were well-mixed. Service (especially initial contact) was somewhat slower than we would have liked, but it improved somewhat over the course of the night. The atmosphere is great - lots of baffles and more private areas. . . much better than steakhouses with too many wide open spaces.
Hands down the Keg makes the best steak in Calgary - and, it is just an all-around fabulous restaurant. The appetizers are tasty, the sides are tasty, the desert is tasty, the free bread is tasty! Not only that, but the service is fantastic! Also, the ambience at this Keg in particular is very good - it is hip and... more
I dined for dinner with a large group at The Keg. The service was amazing in spite of the restaurant being fully occupied. The décor is upscale. I had the best Cesar Salad I've had in decades and the rib eye was cooked and seasoned perfectly.
Amazing rib eye stake, one of the best we ever had. Great service, very attentive waitress and good spot. The only think they should look into is maybe a renovation as place looks a bit tired
Loved that the Keg was located in the Westin Hotel lobby - service was excellent, staff were friendly.
I ate in the bar area as the restaurant was very busy and it was pretty noisy. Looked like a popular hangout for the afterwork business crowd.
We visited the keg steakhouse on a short stay in Calgary having not previously been to a keg steakhouse. We found the experience very disappointing with overpriced decidedly average food. The service was very slow - we had to wait 1hr 30 from sitting down to getting our steak. Not recommended - I wish we had gone to Caesars instead.
Great service, pretty nice for a Keg. Much nicer places in Canada, than in the states. My steak did not come with bacon wrap, but the waitress had it done for me, it was yummy!
I'm a huge fan of the Keg steakhouse. The steak was perfect. Great atmosphere. With classic menu you get the most value. Steak, salad, vegetables for $27. Great value
We organized a dinner at the Keg, and asked for a private booth so we could have a 5 person business meeting as well as dinner. They really came though with exactly what we wanted. The waiter was very professional (wish I had caught his name). I had a white beer on tap, delicious. I ordered the Rib Steak, which... more
My wife and I went for dinner at The Keg on 4 Avenue, S.W. (attached to The Westin Calgary) on Friday evening, August 30, 2013 at approximately 7:30 pm. The Keg seems to be a chain in Canada though I have not tried others. It has a huge selection of red meat which I have now tried on different occasions. Two out of three times it has been cooked to perfection and once it was a miss. This last time was a good one as I wanted to give... more
Had heard good things about the Keg and the menu looked great so we booked up for our last night in Calgary. We were greeting warmly upon arrival and escorted through the darkness to our table. I've never been to a restaurant that's so dark!

Typical Keg. Is attached to Westin so a pretty good spot for a nice dinner if you don't want to walk to far. Lounge seeting is okay but I Don't like the seating arrangements. Food is always pretty good but mostly red meat as expected and not very cheap.
I'm not normally one for steak meals but you can't go to a steak restaurant and not eat steak so that was what I ordered. I ordered the steak oscar which came with bearnaise sauce, scallops and shrimp! It was the best steak meal ever. My husband, who is the only steak eater in the family could not rave enough... more

The Keg offers delicious food served in a very comfortable setting. I wish this restaurant would open in England! I have many food allergies and consequently am quite difficult to feed.
