Foie gras is must-try item among the entrées.

Our yearly Montreal Trip won't be the same

Every time we've visited Montreal we have eaten at the beautiful Beaver Club Restaurant.
I feel fortunate enough to have been able to share this beautiful and historic spot with my young daughter last year and when rebooking for this November I was surprised and saddened that the club will only be open to private events going forward.

End of an Era

Sadly this once great restaurant and one of the oldest club in north America dating back to 1785 closed it's doors forever yesterday. I will always remember the wonderful times we spent in this first rate Canadian restaurant. Probably good for pizza, but we ordered from a special Thanksgiving/Hanukkah menu. Really the food was good but the place felt cold. This is a problem with many hotel restaurants. Domenica is always a fun place to go but the half off happy hour prices are fantastic. I love the holidays at the Roosevelt and it was the perfect day to walk through the lobby and grab a late lunch. Went in for Thanksgiving dinner and had the 4 course prix fix. I made reservations about a week in advance and had been looking forwards to my first Thanksgiving in a restaurant. Was not disappointed. Great service, fun atmosphere, outstanding dinner!

We were expecting a simple regular Italian but it turned to be a wonderful experience. The food was exquisite. We had the plate of cheese and salamis for starters, they were served with many different types of delicious bread. The pasta were cooked perfectly and the desserts were delicious. At the end, we were given a little thank you box with delicious chocolate cookies.

Great food, excellent service, moderately priced, within walking distance of Saenger Theater, Joy Theater, French Quarter. Located in one of the most beautiful hotels in New Orleans. It has it ALL! If I didn't live 90 minutes away, I would go much more often.

It must be the pizzas

Pizza was the only thing we didn't try and I'm sorry. We love John Besh and am amazed that the food was so poor. We each had something different (4 of us) and no one had something we liked. Waiter was very busy so he was rushed and difficult to find. Just thought he had too many tables.

This is the restaurant that my wife and I went to on our honeymoon weekend. We just made one year and went there fir dinner. It was a great experience both times. Cant wait to go back.

Wonderful experience! Recommend roasted cauliflower appetizer. We had tickets to the Saenger and the staff did a great job of communicating excellent food choices and efficiently taking care of us and sending us on our way in time to see the show. We will be back.

Couldn't have been better!

Our waiter really knew the menu and dish ingredients. His recommendations were spot on. I like pizza with a thinner, crispier crust, but the flavor of our pie was outstanding. We also had a delicious redfish plate and 2 members of our group completely enjoyed the lasagna bolognese. The semifreddo dessert was a real treat.

This might not be entirely fair but I want to share a little history of the Beaver Club.  Back in the 70's this place was top notch.  One of my wife's favorite restaurants.  That was a time when the Queen Elizabeth Hotel had a half dozen excellent restaurants down along the concourse.  Years later the whole complex was scaled back or closed.The Beaver Club was cut back in space by 50% or more... plus

The value, quality and presentation of the food was impeccable but the service was what really "wowed". Perfect for birthdays and special events, the staff cater to your every need and have an acute attention to detail. The foie gras and flamb?ed steak were particularly tasteful. I liked the old Beaver Club better. The food is still terrific but the decor is very sterile. The old decor was definitely unique - and a better match for the name, but some might not have liked all of the dead animal heads on the wall!

for great celebrations, indoor parking is fantastic in winter - not a modern place but a grand and solid ambience. Wonderful martinis!

Hear that this was a great bar. It was. Heard that it had great food. It didn't. I got the idea that the Canadians were excited to be able to say things like, "I'm going to have a little beaver tonight." Cute. Also overwhelmingly gay. Which is OK.

If you like this 'grand scale' style (and who doesn't on occasion?), then this is still one of the best spots for it in Canada. Perfect to mark Dad's retirement from the Stock Exchange... plus
