This is one of the biggest fitness centres Calgary has to offer. For the price of a membership they offer some pretty awesome bang for your buck, especially if you're into multidisciplinary fitness. I love being able to work out in the gym or catch a group fitness class and then hit the steam room and hot tub after.

A Fitness Centre

This is a nice facility with courts, a swimming pool large enough for competitions as well as diving platforms for competitions, but unless you are here for an event or to workout I don't see any reason for a tourist to visit here.

Workout almost anytime

They have many scheduled workout classes for whatever you would want to do, from Deep Water Running to yoga and Group Power, the best weight workout you can have.

Excellent Multi Sport Venue

This is a great venue for a variety of sports, however given the open air design, tends to be very hot and humid thanks to the proximity of athletes and swimming pools.

Cardiac Rehab

I was going here for their Cardiac Rehab clinics. These are excellent with top notch instructors. They provided me with all the knowledge I required to lead an active life after a cardiac incident.

Approximately three years winter season my son again played for his pals and special coach. Easy access, watched swimmers training for olympics, indoor track. Awesome place

Asa new Calgarian, I was pleased to find this fitness facility for my workouts. It has amazing gym, amazing pools, track, great classes and so on. I take the family for swim lessons and I use the place almost every day. Excellent pricing for memberships. Highly recommend this place.

Why is this an attraction

I brought my nieces here, but everyone was a little disappointed at the options here.
It was pricey for being a rec centre. I know of other pools that are less expensive that have more to do.

Complete sports complex

This complex is a great destination for a few hours of fun physical activity. I use a 10 visit pass and make the most of each, usually checking out a class, playing some basketball, using the vast range of gym equipment, swimming a few laps of one of the 2 pools, and finishing up with a relaxing steam session. May be the finest pool training facility in western Canada. So many things available for the physically active and all top notch .

A well equipped stadium, for Olympics level athletes

We lived in front of this place. The prices are very reasonable for the large amount of facilities. There is a indoor track, several swimming pools, badminton and volleyball courts, two gyms, a massage centre, etc.

Lots of parking space, despite being a popular large facility.

Place has everything for a workout or for a family day. I think the prices are reasonable and lots of things going on.

Great facility

This is by far my favourite workout facility so far. It is spacious and clean. The 200 meter track is great. The whole family can work out doing different things ( swim, run, weight lift or take a class) which is a big bonus.

National Qaulifier

Daughters synchro club competed there. Great facility. Great hosts. Located downtown close to Stampede park.

Great gym

A huge selection of gym equipment, most fairly new. Of course, if you're into swimming this is the place you'll want to go to -it's got two Olympic-sized pools!
Convenient parking close to Macleod makes it easy to access.

Very well looked after. Wide variety of sports activities. Very nice swimming pools! Very nice kiosks for food. Parking is good with the exception during swim meets.

Drop in or sign up, it's the best public work out facility in the City - bar none. I really like the Talisman Centre. It seems to be the only place that has no lack of equipment AND two olympic sized swimming pools. The pools are what keeps me coming back though. I used to have a annual membership here years ago, but now I choose to pay the 6 dollar late rate. After 930pm the facility has a lot less people and I haven't had to share a swimming lane once.

I always choose Talisman over any other pool/gym facility in Calgary. Talisman has all the equipment you would ever want. Admission is a bit high but is totally worth it.

I grew up here at Talisman Centre back when it was Linsday Park. The renos have been great and the facility is the perfect place to workout or train.

Great Facility

I have had a pass at the Talisman Centre for over about a year and I just love the place. There is SO much to do!!

Expensive, well equipped

Spacious, well equipped with pool, gym and classes. It can be expensive - I use the City-Of-Calgary Gym instead ($5 instead of $15) but it's smaller. Talisman is easy to access and well laid out.

Excellent Sports Facility

Easy to access this sports facility, and it is good both for drop in, and also membership. Nice long hours which make it accessible for early morning workouts which I appreciate.

Sports enthusiasts haven

I used to do platform diving at the Talisman centre and occasionally work out their after work due to it's convenient location. I've taken my husband to play badminton here and we've dropped in for a swim now and then too. They have a sports therapy centre on site and a large running track.

it is so big and new here that you cant go wrong - they have a class or piece of equipment for everything you might want to do.

I go here all the time

Great facilities (pools, multiple gyms,etc.). They have a bunch of free classes that you can drop in on. Everything from cycling to weight lifting. The gym has a great energetic vibe.

The Talisman Centre really is a great gym and has everything a regular gym-goer will need, along with designated weight rooms/equipment for athletes/athletic teams.

Pros:
-The variety of machines. There is a machine here for everyone and the customer service staff is helpful in helping you figure out how to use them if you need it. This includes both cardio and weight machines.

It is a beautiful facility. I was not excited about the fact that when I became a member they never gave me a tour or told me how to enter center areas or what areas I could use. Multisport complex

Large complex with running track several courts for badminton, basket ball that are also used for fitness classes. There are 2 pools that have assigned times for public lab swimming. The facility also hosts water-polo and synchronized swimming.
The downside is that the facility has a very high humidity level because of the pools

Something for everyone

A full spectrum facility for the serious athlete, going through rehabilitation or the weekend warrior.....not necessarily in that order. Lots of free parking!

Renovated

Some good renovations to change room areas,lots of good swimming areas,good location with pleanty of parking.

I like the Talisman Centre. It's near my house, my membership includes my classes, there's a pool, a track, a dive tank, three gyms, two weight areas, lots of parking and a friendly staff.

Talisman gets a bad rap for being expensive ($66/mo starting Jan 2012) but I actually think the membership fee is worth it considering everything that's included.

Located downtown with plenty of parking this is one of the largest fitness centres in Calgary. It has recently undergone remodeling adding a new area with a 2nd lap pool + 2nd larger hot tub, and also a new weights + gym machine area overlooking the river! (new equipment with individual TVs!)

Well No Doubt that this place is probably calgary's best fitness facility but I've gone 3 times to sign up for a membership and was told to come back another time..."we're short staffed"

Thats a p@!s off cause I'd really like to give you my $60/ month for a facility that's half shut down due to construction.

Usually gets uncomfortably busy during peak hours but that should be expected I suppose.
