Good Indian Food
August 04, 2014We visited Taj Indian restaurant based on the rating from Tripadvisor. The food was decent Indian. Ordered the meal for two which included butter chicken, Beef madras, vegetable curry, basmati rice, naan and 2 samosas. Food was served promptly by the owner Miah. He was very personable and we enjoyed talking to him about the food and about the City.

One of our favourite restaurants in Owen Sound
June 24, 2014I don't live in Owen Sound but, every time I am there, I try to stop in to the Taj for a bite to eat. The specials are always delicious and well priced. I love the little pots of chai tea. We recommend it to everyone who expresses an interest in Indian food.

Fantastic
April 12, 2014We were on our way home and stopped in Owen Sound for dinner. We tried 3 dishes, a vindaloo, a korma, and a vegetarian dish loaded with chick peas. All 3 dishes were great! The man who owns the place is very personable and friendly.

Good portions, good flavours, excellent value

Ate here from the lunch specials menu. Good portions, with good flavours without being too spicy (I like mild rather than strong flavours). The happy, chatty owner was welcoming and helpful. The restaurant has a slightly dated decor and little atmosphere at lunchtime. We later discovered that The Taj has a good reputation for take-outs.

Authentic Indian in Owen Sound ! The Taj rules

Since opening earlier in 2012, have visited the Taj several times (never often enough!) and love the service, value and of course the food.
My favourites on the menu are the Baigan Bhartha and Pakora. Also really like Channa, Korma, samosa's...well pretty much everything on the menu.
Very very happy to have the Taj in Owen Sound !!!

Consistently Excellent
October 19, 2012We’ve eaten here on several occasions and frequently drive 45 minutes just to get take-out. The food is incredible, the service is friendly and helpful; we’ve never been disappointed. The chicken korma and the vindaloo are two of our favourites. I highly recommend the Taj to anybody.
