Ate here for breakfast a few weeks ago. Ordered the eggs and cuban sandwich. Side of home fries. The food was decent. I say average to good quality. Price was a bit on the high side for what you are getting. Its a nice large resto and the staff were attentive. I would probably not go again as other breakfast joints are better value.

Guelph has many restaurants and bars, however only very few of them can offer constantly decent services and good food. Symposium is one of the few places which offers very tasty food, good services and still not ruining your wallet. Just avoid coming in more than 4 people... more

Our first visit to the Symposium Café on a recent Sunday shortly after 11:00 a.m., Seated quickly and server was quick to acknowledge our presence , coffee , tea ordered and delivered rather promptly (unfortunately they were out of Earl Grey my wife's favorite tea, disappointing but not a huge issue). Met up with family on a cooler Saturday morning and although we met there at 10 am - there was not the usual line up as with other breakfast places. We had coffee/tea served to us within 3 minutes of ordering it. The selection was good, the service prompt, and the atmosphere wonderful ! A great #Guelph find - to be sure. Looking forward to heading there again!
