love this place but always busy and loud. I always get just get things to go. their udon soup is like nothing I've ever had, it's so delicious. all the staff is friendly except for one who is very rude, urging people who don't buy anything to leave whereas everyone else and even the manager don't mind at all if you're just around to study or need somewhere to eat lunch. I've never once had a... more
Sweet Dreams will always be my go-to place for a sweet, delicious icy swirl. My favourite is the honeymelon icy swirl with lychee jelly - yum! The ambience and board games at Sweet Dreams makes the place extra cosy :) I did have a bad experience recently however - I noticed quite a few black specs in my icy swirl last time I was there (not sure what it was - look like small bits of black... more
This place should not be marketted as a bubble tea house, its so bad. The tea is bad, the tapioca is bad and its all expensive. Id much rather take the bus to Chatime or Noon Moment instead. The only cute thing about this place is the decor and the stuff they sell.
I don't pretend to be an elitist by any stretch. I've had bubble tea all over the world. (Austin, TX; Denmark; Japan).
This place serves, by far, my favourite. Delicious intense flavours! Sometimes there can be a long wait though. It's worth it!
I wish they'd bring back the Asian patties on the menu but that might have been gone for close to 10 years now. None of the latest staff even knows...

They recently increased their price :( Their original price wasn't even cheap. Now I prefer going to chatime more even though it's more walkint. Taste wise I like the sesame and malt...lol I know, unconvensional flavours. Make sure to ask for a membership card if you plan to come here frequently: 10 stamps = 1 drink any size
I really enjoy Sweet Dreams :) Their bubble tea really hits the spot after a long day of classes or after an exam. And their hot bubble tea is really good for the winter. I can never decide what to order, so I usually get the weekly special, which lets you buy the flavor in a large size for the price of a small. Their desserts are also yummy, but it's a bit overpriced.
The ambiance there is...

Alright place if you just want some bubble tea. Not up to par as other places like Chatime; however, location is more convenient if you are a UW student.
Like others mentioned, they also have board games which is always great.
Awesome place with a great atmosphere. The staff always provide great service and good recommendations. Also a good place for a low key date.
A very cute and quaint teashop situated in the plaza near the University of Waterloo. Have only tried their hot teas but would definitely recommend it. Very friendly staff who really know their tea and can provide great suggestions.
My friend recommended this place, so my expectations were on the high side. I was expecting a Taiwanese style bubble tea shop, but it's more like a fusion shop. The interior design is reminiscent of NYC late 90's SOHO, aka casual hipster, with a touch of grunge. Real flowers in tiny salt shakers at every table. Nice touch. Board games in the corner, check. Various tea paraphernalia in the other... more
The drinks here are great however they definitely aren't worth the price. But it is a nice place to visit once in a while with friends to have a chat and try a different bubble tea and play some board games!
I wouldn't recommend ordering their food as it's pretty mediocore and the food menu is small. Ordered the ramen noodles for $6.50 and am pretty positive they are Nong Shim brand...

I was expecting too much, I'll admit it but even if I wasn't I would still give it a meh. The ambiance and decor is really cute and the board games you can play with friends is really friendly!
However, I went for the bubble tea and I got a pomegranate flavoring with lychee gelly, ummm no idea what they actually served me it tasted like fruit punch! The gelly was nice and different, I do think...

Very busy, happening place! Great atmosphere and great drinks, especially the bubbletea! If you're looking to explore some new or exotic flavours, I would recommend almond! So delicious!
Their bubble tea is fantastic and I LOVE their raman soup. Stop in and you can play a game with your friends.
I used to be obsessed with this place! They do have the best taro bubble tea ever I must admit amf great tasting drinks. Over the past 5+ years it has started to go downhill sadly. Staff are not nearly as nice as when I first started going and also the food has changed for the worse. Great idea with... more
Great atmosphere and great bubble tea. They have games and food, definitely a great place to hang out.
Some of their bubble tea I find is very overpowering which is why I only gave it 4 stars. I also ordered a mango green tea and ended up with a milk tea which wasn't too great.
Noon Moment is 1 more star up on this IMO but both great places.

i love their warm lattes. try their chai tea or earl gray latte. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
bubble tea is great too. i always come back to this place when i am in town.
It's not as cheap as China town, but that's because their bubble tea is SO GOOD.
They have plenty of flavours to choose from, both milk and non-milk, and their Hong Kong style is one of the best, in my opinion.
The interior is also very nicely decorated and has a hipster feel to it, not to mention they have board games and Jenga.
I also like how each person gets a letter and they bring your...

I used to go to Sweet Dreams with my girlfriend regularly but after a few poor experiences we stopped going often. Tonight we decided that we would give it another shot. Big mistake. I ordered a mango real fruit smoothie that tasted like chalk and cool whip had been blended with the hopes that something decent might spawn from the combo. My girlfriend got a lemon-raspberry strawberry icicle... more
I didn't realise how great the taro bubble tea was here until I tried it at many other places and can't find anything that even comes close to being so deliscious!! I don't know what they do differently but whatever it is, it works! The soup and dumplings are also great. It is a student place so don't expect fine... more
Bubble tea is alright and overpriced. They also have board games. Never tried their food. OK
They just finished a major renovation, which I'm totally digging since its much brighter and spacious feeling with a modern, cool kind of vibe. Its more what you'd expect from the trendy tea shops you see in Toronto.
Great little lunch spot and it seems they've expanded their menu to include sandwiches and desserts from dufflet/homemade. The lunch special (around $8?) is a very good deal which...

Cheap bubble tea that tastes great. Love the atmosphere, board games and couches are available. This place is very crowded at peak times however and the service speed is quite slow. Grab some bbt from here if you ever get the chance
Went here for a late night treat with my GF and its a nice little shop. Such a change from the mega teashops that dominate the GTA (Markham and Richmond Hill), which is a bonus!
The bubble tea is fairly good though I was misled by my GF who thought that they used real fruit in the fruti flavoured bubble tea. =( I was disappointed but to be fair I have yet to find any bubble tea shop to use...

I've been going to Sweet Dreams Teashop since I was a first year undergrad. Over the years, many restaurants in the University Plaza have closed down, but this cozy little teashop has only gotten better! Lunch specials (choice of ramen, udon, or steamed dumplings) with bubble tea starting at $6.99. The sponge toast is also great to snack on with a friend.
Bottom line: Best bubble tea in town,...

Very cute little shop with couches and games, and random Asian merchandises.
They have a lot of selections for bubbles teas and they are all very good. The lunch specials are pretty good deals, it includes a small bbt or you can upgrade to large for only a dollar.
One of the few places I miss when I am off on coop. This is a really awesome bubble tea shop with both great bubble teas and quality loose leaf tea.
Usually open late its a great place to go if your not into going out to bars, they have board games and cards. It is easy to spend a few hours there with friends playing games and drinking tea.
That being said, you can get a drink there...

Small little teashop always selling funky things. They have great service -- the waitresses area always bubbly and cheerful. They're the only bubble tea place that I know that will mix flavours for you.
