Connected to five major office towers and over 400 stores, businesses and services in the Edmonton City Centre Mall, every convenience of downtown Edmonton is at your fingertips
Good location, Avis right downstairs.
I spent one night here on a romantic weekend with my boyfriend. We indulged in the chocolate buffet which was delicious and also enjoyed the complimentary spa package in conjunction with Eveline Charles which was really fun and relaxing. The room itself was really fresh, clean and modern with a very comfortable king size bed. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're staying in Edmonton.
I stayed here as it was suggested by conference organizers.
I was very unhappy with my stay in this hotel. I understand that it's undergoing some repairs, though I didn't see any actual repairing, just lost of places that should be repaired, or at the very least cleaned, but it needs a lot of work on many levels.

It was nice but they were doing some remodeling so they had the hot water off in the middle of the day which made no sense! Ok hotel.
Check in was smooth and painless.
Rooms are clean but dated with some minor damage to the furniture (looks like a dog tried to eat the dresser). The room temperature is very hot. Turning off heating and opening a window helps somewhat. Shower has good water pressure and is at a good height for my 6' unlike many hotels.

Had a work meeting in downtown Edmonton and our normal Mariott was fully booked, so we came here. First impression: As we got out of our cab we were essentially assaulted by a homeless man panhandling for change. Not really an issue as I lived in San Francisco for a while, but it is telling of the area. In the hotel lobby itself it looks like they give the homeless free reign, as I saw one pair... more
I have been to the Taste of Christmas buffet at Sutton Place about 5-6 times in the last 8 years. This year I noticed the early sitting wasn't full as it's been other years. Smelly hotel, smelly pool. Very out dated hotel rooms and the bathroom and shower was just unbelievable...so so outdated. The hotel staff was absolutely wonderful! The lobby is amazing. they are renovating but we didn't even notice any noise or mess. The pool area is very nice and relaxing. its a bit of a gross part of the city so when you are inside the hotel if feels like a completely different place.
Elegant design. Has everything you want. Infrastructure is old so water drains, lighting, and even elevators are very very outdated.
The name has changed, and the property is older, but the hotel is still a great place to stay in Edmonton. We were able to walk to all the shopping we needed to do, to the Art Gallery and our dinner restaurant.

This hotel is not up to usual Sutton Place standards. It's an overpriced dump that offers dirty, small suites, poor service, mediocre expensive food and it was chilly.

Room was clean and well appointed. Had an issue during my stay but the manager, Mr. Harris was very professional and dealt with it to my satisfaction. Would return. The room was very comfortable and the staff were helpful. There's no gym in the hotel, but as a hotel guest you get a preferred rate at the gym in the attached complex. Only downside was the walls seemed a... more
I stayed in this hotel May 28 & May 29. The staff were great but the first indication I had this was not a 4 star hotel was waking up in the morning to an awful smell in the room. House keeping came and advised the plumbing lines were plugged causing the foul odor. Instead of moving me to another room while they repair it they send in the plumber while I am in the room. Not exactly relaxing or... more
Stayed here 3 nights and it was ok but certainly not a 4 star. As others have said it is dated and the carpets and fixtures need updating. The worst was the noise with kids running in the hallways and nothing done about it (well after midnight) by staff after it was brought to their attention by numerous guests. The restaurant is expensive for what you get.
I had to come here for a job interview because it was a company from out of town and they just rented a boardroom here for the day. My experience was mixed.
Wen I first walked into the hotel, I thought it was beautiful. It's got a classic, elegant look to it. It's very old and rich, almost antique-like.
I went to the front desk and told the girl there the name of the person I was meeting and...

Everything good except that the parking is too expensive.
The Sutton Place hotel is an older hotel but very classy. One of the nicer hotels in Edmonton and probably second best downtown.
The rooms are nice and most have a view of downtown. It is also located in a good spot just a few minutes walk to Jasper Ave. I also know many musicians that have concerts here in Edmonton stay at the Sutton Place Hotel. So if you are a huge fan of a certain act you...

This may have been a 4 star hotel in 1981. I guess for the price (week before Christmas) the value was OK. But normally I would NOT stay here again. Everything worked OK, and was reasonably clean, and service was OK. But the whole place needs a MASSIVE renovation, particularly the bathrooms. I am not a fan of chipped enamel in the sink of a "4 star" hotel. The local Motel 6, OK fine, but not a... more
Bright, clean rooms, helpful accommodating staff.
I've stayed at the Sutton Place Hotel a couple times. It's a very nice hotel that's makes me feel like I'm upper class. The hotel is kind of old, but I appreciate the elegant atmosphere.
One of the times I stayed here was on New Year's Eve in 1999 (I think it was called the Sheraton back then). Everyone was worried about Y2K and the whole city losing power. When I first walked into the room,...

Very well appointed, beds were great but the staff were a little surly.
We would recommond this hotel as an acceptable and fairly economical hotel in downtown Edmonton. It is not the place for a special occasion or vacation ( ie. not a resort or a destination property) but if one is just looking for a decent place to sleep, it was good value . It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The linens were nice, except for one very thin, worn-out pillow. The staff... more
I would recommend the the Sutton Place Hotel Edmonton. The location is excellent and the price was definitely right. It is a bare bones hotel - no luxuries at all, but it is clean and relatively new and well-kept. Very good value for money and it met my expectations.
Would most certainly recommend it to others. The room was very comfortable and clean ,the restaurant meals were great. This is the second time we have stayed at this Hotel and we think it is good value for money. The staff are very friendly and they all looked after us well. We arrived early and they said they would bring forward the preparation of our room and have it ready in 45 minutes,... more
Staff were great nut I received a smoking room when I do not smoke. Hotel could not change.
I was here on business... I stayed on the 24th floor in a deluxe King room. The King bed was very comfortable.... I don't usually sleep well in hotels but I had not waken up once throughout the night. Staff are really friendly and helpful. You need a hotel room key to access the hotel elevators so that added to the security of the hotel. Hotel room was clean although the carpet pattern may not... more
