It's a no frills hotel. Rooms clean. The hallway was a little tired looking. The staff was friendly. Would stay there again. No complaints.
older hotel but clean. large room. good tv an AC.
Check in was a breeze - all paperwork and key cards prepared ahead of time, which was nice. We had ordered queen beds but only received a room with double beds. Disappointed but did not go through the hassle of complaining. Room was outdated and turning on the lights was like something out of a horror movie - buzzing and flickering for a few seconds until the light stayed on in the hallway and... more
Staff very accommodating and friendly. Lots of tourist information maps and brochures available. Easy to locate hotel with well lite parking area. Close to scenic parks, walking trails, international border, shopping, restaurants, etc. I was having a procedure at hospital near the hotel and it was very convenient staying there overnight. Breakfast supplied-was fresh, well-stocked with variety... more
We were able to check in and get our room when we arrived. The cleaning staff was just finishing up.
This was a clean, inexpensive stay in Sarnia. Nothing fancy, but comfortable and adequate.
I spent two nights, finding the staff to be polite and accommodating, and the room to be clean and comfortable. The restaurant in the building (Wagg's) was great -- I was visiting for my mother's birthday, and that's actually her favorite restaurant in Sarnia (though families on a budget may prefer the McDonald's right across the street).
The staff made us feel welcome and arranged for a room immediately when we told them we needed to check in early to get ready to attend a funeral.
Rooms are a bit old but the beds and being are new. After paying almost the same for a room with no fridge this was a pleasant surprise. Nice bed with good pillows. Staff very helpful. Restaurant next door is amazingly good and you get 15% off! Breakfast is great. We had a good stay! Someone's car was broken into in the parking lot but that is a problem in the town, not the hotel.
Hotel was generally quiet in a good location. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good but was in front hallway with very limited seating.
Bargain rate for very convenient motel, within a few minutes walking distance of downtown. On main street, a continuation south of Lakeshore Rd., and a few blocks south of Hwy 402. Just across the street from a McDonald's restaurant.
The Super 8 Hotel staff is consistently friendly and professional. The location of this facility is central to our area of interest in the city. Rooms are reasonably priced, neat and clean. The continental breakfast had more variety than we anticipated. We are planning a return trip in the near future and will be booking a room at the Super 8 Motel in downtown Sarnia.
Stayed at a few Super 8's before. Prices are fair. This one was only 15 drive to my family function. Located a street over from the water, and 5 minutes to shopping and eating facilities. The room was dated and needed some repair! Was nice to park outside the room door. Has air conditioner.
We arrived late & the night receptionist already had our paper work ready & printed out at the desk. Staff was friendly & helpful. Sarnia is a beautiful clean little town on the boarder. I wish we could have lingered for a day or two. This place is not handy cap accessable and no elevator. They do have free Wifi which is not listed.
The hotel staff are accomodating. The room was basic and clean. The continental breakfast had your usual cereal and baked goods. The staff are helpful. I marked the comfort down one notch because the air conditioner stays on. It's nicely located near restaurants. I recommend a second floor room as the first floor sometimes has punks walk by that knock on the window.
Comfortable beds, clean enough room, quiet. Good coffee in the morning, and an extended continental breakfast. Perfect for a quick overnight. Less costly than most of the neighboring motels.
the room was fairly clean...the carpet in the hallway should either be professionally cleaned or replaced...bed was comfortable and sheets were clean...there was a smoke smell in the hallway. but for the purpose of our stay the hotel suited my family.
Even for Super 8 it was terrible. Never stay here. Took 3 showers to get clean.
we booked this stay as a stop-over on our trip home from Chicago and, when I book with a Super 8, I don't have great expectations. this one was pretty typical of what I've come to expect: large rooms, tidy and pretty clean, old furniture - dusted - stained carpets, small bathroom (and they weren't able to guarantee an accessible room so no grab bars - but we still managed without too much... more
Having the breakfast area in the lobby was a bit too crowded and took away from my overall enjoyment. I don't think I will bring my children there again, as we were unable to enjoy our breakfast together as a family.
Nice comfortable beds, staff were great and contacted Hotels.com immediately when they discovered we had left something of value behind in the room (we didn't have a cell phone so we were contacted by email). Motel was a bit old and dated but good value for money
pretty run down, musty smell, old furnishings. I found it very overpriced for the conditions
The location was good. Short drive to evey place I visited. A few small restaurants and stores in walking range, and drove to beach.
It wasn't bad for the price, would recommend to friend.
The bed was a little uncomfortable, but I got exactly what I wanted. A cheap place to sleep. Staff was friendly, room was pretty clean. Would stay again.
I particularly want to commend night desk clerk Julie who has, on several stays here, gone out of her way to be helpful.
The hotel was quite suitable for the purpose. I was in town for a wedding. The price was right and the breakfast bar was satisfactory except the coffee was cold. The staff was very welcoming.
Since I was talking with a person in Cairo Egypt to book our room we had a little difficulty locating Sarnia. For the rest everything went smoothly, had a great breakfast.
The staff were polite but when we checked out our room it it lacked chairs / sofa to sit on. The room had a queen size bed, tv, a no so sturdy student desk chair on wheels, one night light, & one night side table. The only place for the 2 of us to sit was on th edge of the bed watch tv or eat. Having breakfast in the room was out of the question, so we went out. After bringing it up about the... more
Our stay at Super 8 Hotel lasted for seven (7) days, during Easter Season, while visiting our daughter with three young children. We were warmly greeted by staff and informed of points of interest pertaining to us while entertaining our three young grand-daughters during the afternoon. We were given accomodations to facilitate our entertainment of two young girls, ages three and two years old,... more
even though my stay was short , i felt as if i am home.
Room was booked by phone. Our experience was good right from time of booking. On arrival the lady at the desk was very friendly and all of our requests had been fulfilled. We were attending an evening function so basically our room was just for sleeping purposes. In the morning we asked the gentleman at the desk if he could recommend a good place to have breakfast. He gave us several options... more
Service was excellent. An older hotel - as is to be expected at a budget price. The heating system, having to work hard due to extreme cold outside temperatures, made the room uncomfortably dry. Bed was a little hard. Attached restaurant was obviously popular with locals, food and service were excellent, and had discount for hotel guests. We will probably want to stay at this hotel again.
room used to be for two beds. a comfortable chair would have been nice
upgrades are being done .was very convenient to everything.
Room was clean but very out dated. The drain in tub/shower was clogged with hair .. we had to pull the clump of hair out which was very unpleasant but was better than standing in dirty shower water 2 inches thick. Had to call down to front desk for another towel... was given 3 towels for a family of 4. The continental breakfast area which consisted of two tables with 2 chairs each was situated... more
we stayed a week and had to ask for clean towel and garbage to be removed.not once was our room cleaned.the extreamly large bug that crawled up the wall by my bed definatly was a top off.
The room was clean place was good. Only upsetting thing was the bedspread had blood and food stains on the underside of it. I know all hotels do not was bedspreads every time a guest stays but I would like to see them checked for obvious stains like this. Did have everything needed in the room. Friendly staff.
The mattress was very comfortable to sleep. The room was clean and it came with a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The internet was fast
My husband and I love to spend our time in Sarnia and of course we always stay at the Super 8 on Christina St. Maria, the lady at the desk during the week is amazing and always soooo helpful and friendly.
Most of our stays are better than average. This past weekend turned out less than favourable. Room was great,...

We arrived late at night, but had confirmed our reservations earlier in the day, and our stay was pre-paid, or we would have gone elsewhere as soon as we smelled our room.,

Hotel is old and dingy. parked vehicles could not be viewed from room. Back door locked (no key reader access) when loading car in morning. Had to go around whole building to re-enter and finish emptying room. Big burn hole in blanket on bed. This was a non smoking room therefore cigarette burned blanket should not have been used in... more
We decided to come over from the States, hit up a Sarnia pub, and stay the night at the Super 8 like responsible adults. The hotel was nothing special, the rooms needed a little updating for sure, but they were clean and the place is right in downtown, within walking distance of everything, which was great. Including the Christmas lights... more
The hotel is in a great location, but needs a major renovation. The furnishings have been around a long time and its time for an update. Nothing seems to have changed since I first stayed there in 2005.
My stay was for 3 nights and the service during the registering was bar none, great. I booked through an online service and they got the reservation dates wrong but this Super 8 did not let that get in the way as they were pretty much full that night. The person working the front desk did some juggling and got... more
The bed sheets were dirty and there was a flickering bulb in the bathroom
There is no outlet available near the desk for a computer.
Decent room, decent staff friendliness, decent everything. We left a pho.e charger there and have been calling for the past two days but no one has answered and then it goes to a fax machine or to a voicemail that has not been set up. Frustrating.
Pros:
Good Location near Timmy's and McDonalds, close to Bluewater Bridge access and Hwy 402
Reasonable price for a stay...look online for deals!
Good Continental Breakfast incl. daily newspaper
Cons:
Very outdated but clean rooms
Their working computers downstairs are quite outdated...bring your own laptop and use their Internet for free
Even though there were posted on-line prices of 10...

I am currently at the hotel for one night with my family. It is a long weekend in Canada so all hotels were booked in Sarnia and we found only this room available at this hotel. If for the rate I paid ( 96 dollars) I would have been in better hotel but as I said the hotels were all... more
Stayed here while traveling to the states through Sarnia. Great downtown location close to some great restaurants. Tim Hortons right down the street too! The staff was very friendly. Super 8 Motel in Sarnia was clean, all amenities needed for 1 - 2 night stay. Excellent staff, knowledgeable, responsive. Continental breakfast was great.
No odours in rooms or hallway. Easy access to highway, and downtown.
I chose to stay at this facility because I was so angered by the reservation service for the local Holiday Inn. This motel is located on the same main street for hotels/motels and is just as easily reached from the 402. It is is need of refurbishment. The televisions are old. The heating/airconditioning system is old and loud. The decor... more
Stayed for four nights- should have been five, I was over for a wedding, but I had to leave early to get transport to Detroit Metro to connect to Newark then on to England. Not someplace I'd want to make my home base for an extended trip, but OK for just passing through. The area around the hotel is a little shady, but we never felt unsafe. Breakfast is served in the lobby, and they have exactly TWO tables.

Stayed here overnight on route as part of two day driving trip. Easy to find and met our needs (barely) for overnight stop with late arrival, early departure, low price ($80). Non-smoking room smelled of smoke. AC worked and it was 30C/90F outdoors. Breakfast was better than we expected with bagels, cereal offered.
I spent one night there visiting friends a couple of weeks ago and had an enjoyable stay. The room was clean and spacious, well equipped with a microwave, small refrigerator, and a medium-sized color TV with cable. It had complementary wireless Internet as well. No frills like a pool or hot tub were included. It did include a modest continental... more
This place wasn't any 8th wonder of the world but it was good enough and the price was right! I think it was $79+tax. The front desk folks were friendly and its right across the road from a McD's haha Not much else to say... it was clean, comfy, a good sleep, but a little dated.
My husband and I stayed for two nights (June 30th & July 1st, 2011). We had our daughter and two chihuahuas with us. The staff were extremely friendly and it appeared that everyone working there loved animals. The only negative is that the carpets were in need of a good cleaning. Otherwise our overall experience was very positive.
This was our families first experience with a Super 8 Motel and let me say never again. We were staying in Sarnia for a sports event "Canadians Synchro" competition so alot of the hotels were booked. We stayed one Friday night in late September. Noted the area looked a little seedy when we arrived and asked the front desk clerk about any problems in the neighborhood. Staff as great, facilities were typical for the chain. Location was a $12 cab ride from the train station.

We've stayed at the Super 8 in Sarnia on numberous occassions and it's been great. They are always helpful and courtious and the rooms are clean and very roomy. It's our regular stay while visiting the Sarnia area.
Wonderful experience. Excellent front desk staff, very helpful. Recently changed ownership and extensive renovations almost completed. Excellent restaurant attached. Will make this a regular vacation stop-over.
This is one of the worst motels we've ever stayed at. We spent a night there a few years ago, and were wakened at about 7 or 7:30 a.m. by terrible banging on the roof.
