Ok for an overnight
March 10, 2014Stayed here to meet friends who live in Calgary. Typical Super 8, noise in hallways, room was reasonably clean, accessible features were good! breakfast was nothing special - can't they buy oranges? Staff answered all our questions. A little hard to find the entrance to the Hotel ... fooled my GPS it did!

Good service - marginal facility
March 03, 2014This hotel has had a lot of wear and tear. The first room assigned to me was cold and the heater did not work. The second had a malfunctioning heater as well. I got it to work but only by fiddling with the controls. Obviously needing repair as well.

Tom is the best

This hotel has a good location near the airport. Parking was not good, we had to park along a driveway. The room was clean and quiet.
Breakfast was provided, but very bare bones even for a continental.
The price was good for the area, but definitely not great value for what you got out of it.

Good Stay in Calgary Super 8
January 24, 2014Good location, close to restaurants, & especially convenient to get to the airport. Other shopping nearby was handy too. Short 10 - 15 minute drive to downtown for some sightseeing. Husky gas station next door and drug store a little drive down the street was great. Room was comfortable & clean. I'd recommend staying again.

Dirty rooms
January 08, 2014Not one to complain unless it is really bad, but this place was really bad,our blanket had a big stain on it and chair had a cigarette burn in it, the bathroom had bloodstains on the floor, mind you the staff was quick to get us new blankets, but it's is defenitly scratched off my list to visit again.

We asked for the room on the 4th floor, good view. 5 minutes walk to Tony Romaz, Earls, and McDonalds which is great. I stayed for two nights this week for a training course up here in Calgary.
It has been about five years since I stayed here, the differences I noticed:
It is non smoking now, no more saturation of Frebreeze!!!!!
I small free breakfast is now included
Flat screens are standard with a good selection of channels

Poor safety, internet and breakfast

We stayed 3 nights in the hotel. After the first night we found our car (and 2 others) with smashed window. They didn't have cameras in the carpark, so the police couldn't do anything. We spent a whole day to get it fixed for about 220$. The internet often didn't work at all.
The cards for the room always stopped...

We booked through Expedia ( definitely will re-think that action in the future ). The cheapest hotel that was available for the evening was at the Super 8. It was during the Calgary Stampede and following the floods, but even given that imagine the horror when we realized the room was $218!

From Nadir the Manager who went out of his way to help with a situation . The following morning he popped in while I was having breakfast and again was kind and thoughtful.

March 19, 2013There were no surprises with this room. It was a bit further from the airport than I thought and shuttles were only at set times. I flew out early morning and I would have preferred an earlier shuttle but i had to wait until the one at the 'set time'.A bit expensive for Super 8 but otherwise it was fine.

Exceeded our expectations

Stayed here as an overnight on a return trip from Cuba. We arrived at midnight and only had to wait 15 minutes for a shuttle, that was great! The driver was very friendly and helpful, another plus for a tired traveller.
They have a very nice continental breakfast (waffle bar!) and the shuttle back to the airport was on time...

Nice Location, Bit Dated
January 22, 2013Lovely hotel. Its close to the airport (when the airports way of getting to it isn't changed) and near lots of restaurants. The decor in the room is a bit dated but it was comfortable. Our tub ended up being drippy and someone left the plug down so it filled with water. Simple fixes.

Super 8 Calgary Airport - Good Value
