Friendly and laid-back atmosphere. Fresh sashimi. We also tried their soft shell crab roll and St. John's s roll and were all done well. Good place to go if you are craving sushi while in St. John's!

I must be honest and rate this place an average. The sushi was pretty good, but that was about it.
The atmosphere was alright.
Servers were friendly and helpful, even if they got our order wrong. They at least got it resolved.

Personally, service usually makes or breaks an experience, and the service here is always slow and fairly inattentive.

I'm a vegetarian, so I can't speak about the quality of the fish, but their vegetable tempura rolls are alright, and their avocado rolls have a lot of avocado, so that's good. Vegetable quality can vary though, as it's hard to get decent greens on the island.

We were so happy to find this restaurant, just wish we'd found it earlier in the vacation. Very tasty food, good service, good for our kids, comfortable atmostphere. Food poisoning= ruined birthday

I ordered a spicy salmon roll at Sun Sushi to go in March 2012. A few hours after eating my supper I experienced the WORST food poisoning of my life. I was sick for 3 days and I missed out my birthday celebrations. I will not be going back here anytime soon. Beware!

While the sushi is very good and the prices are reasonable some of the servers difficulty with English really holds back the experience. I have eaten sushi in dozens of restaurants all over North America. The sushi at this place ranks at the very bottom.

I’m a huge fan of Sun Sushi, though I agree with everyone else – their service is the worst! I think their prices are really reasonable, their food is always good, the tables are clean (I’d probably avoid the washrooms if possible). I have never gotten take-out there before but I should probably consider it! It would be a great way to avoid the bad service!

While I generally enjoy Sun sushi’s food, and atmosphere, every time I go there, something goes wrong on our order. Something is forgotten, or mixed up, or left in. Every time I ask about having s little bit of seaweed salad instead of a house salad, I get a different answer.

I honestly ADORE Sun Sushi. The Baked Tilapia Roll! Oh, and for dessert, don’t forget to ask for the Banana Tempura! It’s not on the menu, but it’s delicious. Last time I had it they were out of vanilla icecream and we tried it with ginger icecream instead. It was an interesting experience!

Love Sun Sushi but am currently completely disappointed with their lack of regard for their customers. They have been inexplicably closed for about a month and a half now, not only this but I was told the would be open on the 8th which i found out today has been changed to the 15th. I have to say out of the Sushi places I’ve visited Sun Sushi is my favorite. The tea and soup are complimentary with the sushi rolls you order (I think). Someone commented that there is no green tea, however the Genmaicha tea they serve is a combination of green tea and brown rice and is delicious! I was very turned off from Sun Sushi the first time I went there. The service was quite bad. They didn’t even have any green tea! I thought about suggesting they go buy a new kettle. I go to Asian Taste for all my sushi cravings.
